how did you come to the determination to change that gasket did you have to do a leak test? vacuum test ? was there a check engine light on? is this a common problem for the RX8? can you explain the symptoms of the car and what led you to get to this determination
A damaged LIM gasket isn't a common issue with the RX-8, but as you can tell by this video it can happen. Generally if you suspect a vacuum leak, you should rule out all other possibilities before you come to this conclusion.
Thank you for the video! I'm planning to clean and change gaskets of my lower intake manifold but I wonder that would it be possible to do this without lowering the whole engine?
Sung Hun Lee thanks, if you have a 4 port engine. Then I’ve seen it done without dropping the motor. But being this one was a 6 port engine, the lower intake had those cylinders And must be removed sideways. But on the positive note, I dropped everything in less then 3 hours and that was while I filmed the repairs. So this car is really easy!!! 👍🏼Good luck with the cleaning!

Was there a problem with the old gasket?
What Mazda year is this?
If you were replacing that why didnt you just lift the engine up much easier and faster way
kevin diaz i’ve gotten used to just dropping these motors from underneath these cars, it’s just easier for me. lol
@@ls1camaro92 oh ok lol
@@ls1camaro92 so is there no way to unbolt an lift out from the engine bay to avoid dropping motor/subframe down by chance haha
