You do NOT play around with calf strains, especially as a player who relies on their physical gifts as much as Giannis. That's your body's last warning before that Achilles gives up on you.

@@YMangat Nope, not with this injury. A calf strain can feel fine a couple of weeks later but it's still dumb to play on it, especially NBA level ball. If I'm Giannis I sit out and actually do the strengthening and prehab necessary to be ready for next season. Only dudes to come back from an Achilles tear at a high level in NBA history are Dominique and KD, the risk is not worth it especially with his play style.

I had a similar experience but I was jogging around a park. I felt a pull in my right calf and a sharp pain was there every time I moved my leg to walk. I stopped any leg related exercise for the next 2 weeks. After that I played ball since the pain was gone. I would stretch and warm up properly especially my right calf. I would only last 10 mins on the court since the calf pain would return. Tried to play 2 more separate instances with the same result. I had a doc look into it and he told me to get an MRI. My insurance did not cover it and I could not afford to get one. I did not play ball or exercise my legs for 2 months (just walked around carefully). After that I changed my shoes (from Curry 3 low to Adidas Crazylight Boost 2) and started playing ball again and did not experience the pain ever since.
Giannis should’ve been working on his game to prolong his career. No post game after all this time is nuts.

As a person who tore their Achilles and didn’t get surgery. I think this injury is over blown. You can return from an Achilles injury. I’m a former D1 basketball player and honestly I feel better than before. Giannis will be ok.
