      thank you for the video sir
      but i have a doubt,,,,
      why do we need to short circuit the voltage and open circuit the sources
      why not do in reverse
      what is the exact theory behind this

    • @chetannain4867
      @chetannain4867 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      banu reddy hii
      may be because while calculating the value of current in Thevenin's Theorem we are actually not aware of the fact that how much current will flow through the battery so we just short circuit a battery
      Secondly in case of a current source we are already given the value of the current so if we apply Kirchhoff's law there then it wont make any sense as we are already aware of what is the value of the current.
      Still may may expect for a better answer
      and thanks for such a good question!!!

    But why in the solution of first circuit n the smallest loop u haven't considered the voltage drop/rise by branch of 4 ohm res? Coz while counting Vth with 2nd loop equation, u considered voltage effects with 4 ohm branch

    • @chriszitsenga6571
      @chriszitsenga6571 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      there are 2 "4 ohm " resistors so the other one was included

    • @ajayrajan8882
      @ajayrajan8882 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When we first assigned the current in the branches, as the Load resistance branch was left open, there was initially no current asssigned to the open circuited branch 4ohm resistor, so during the later calculations we don't have to worry about the current in the open brach as there will be never any, how ever the voltage source in the open branch cannot be neglected.

    How 2 ohm and 4 ohm resistors are in parallel? anyone explain it to me...

    • @insttech3755
      @insttech3755 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      cause there is another 4-ohm resistor connected with the 2 ohms so you cannot consider it in series. Hence it is in parallel

      Because current is outgoing from that point

      B is a terminal connected to one end of 4 and 2.Let C be a common terminal for both 2 and 4. Hence, we get B4C and B2C. Therefore, they are in parallel.

    nice explanation. But i can't understand only 1 thing. at second step (open circuit) you skip the 4Ω resistor and seems logical cause there were no I(A) flowing the resistor! But after that when you use close circuit you still ignore the 4Ω resistor. why??? if there are I(A) flow through Vth there must be for 4Ω resistor too... can i have an explanation?

    • @MrGuitarfreak316
      @MrGuitarfreak316 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      in the closed circuit we follow the current distribution which we assumed in the earlier step. no current was flowing in the 4ohm resistor. Hence there is no voltage rise or drop in that arm .Thats why we dont consider it in step of find Vth

      Αλέξανδρος Οικονομόπουλος As here vth is imaginary as sir told so 4 ohm resistance is not taken as the circuit is open at point A and B.Reqirement of 4 ohm resistor is in the Rth value.
