I think they should have the unique 3D open world DK as switch successor exclusive to give a big push to the new system. Mario open world has been done with bowser’s fury so DK is truly unique for switch successor. Mario kart to get the causal gamer and fill in the hole DK left. DK still have wide appeal. Being such a household name for Mario also don’t help because many have play it before and not truly fresh.
The switch 2 needs to be able to play all switch 1 games, but the og switch should not be able to play switch 2 games. I have an interesting idea for what a Mario kart 9 could look like- portals/alternate dimensions. After all, consider the idea that Mario Kart 8 based a lot of its track design around 8s. A 9 looks a lot like an 8, but with a piece cut off to form the tail. That piece being cut off could indicate with a track design that it instantly jumps to return from the end of the tail back to the start of the loop. These sorts of portals can make for extremely clever shortcuts, track design, would demo the graphical capabilities of the console well (as rendering portals usually requires rendering multiple cameras at once and drawing one of them in the area of the portal like a "window"), and could even involve some interesting power-ups related to teleporting. This doesn't even BEGIN to cover how cool the battle modes would look with this, and you should probably check out the pipe-themed battle course from Mario Kart DS if you want an idea of the potential it could have for gameplay (but then just imagine it with actually rendered portals)

When i started playing Mario kart on the ds i loved that when you die in balloon battle you would be a ghost laying traps it was funny and trying to stay alive being the last survivor was so much more challenging then the pint system
A couple of other franchises that usually get a game within the first 2 years: The Legend of Zelda (BoTW, LbW, OoA) Super Smash Brothers (Ult, 4, Brawl, Melee) Animal Crossing (Horizons originally set for 2019, NL, WW, AC) Fire Emblem (BB, RD, Awakening, TH)
open world mario where the maap you normal walk on to get to new levels is just the actual world mario would def need a bit more attack and cobo ability but could stil be mostly a platformer
I love the open world Mario Kart game idea! I also heard an idea for Smash Kart which would be like Mario Kart with Smash Bros characters and items that centers more around battles
Would be cool to see a vast roster of characters in Mario Kart, leaning towards Smash Bros with the guest characters from other series. Not to mention possibilities of having maps based on BotW, TotK, Fire Emblem and heck even Bayonetta. Would add some much needed spice to the series.
This is how i see switch 2s roadmap September-October reveal with a March 2025 release No September direct cuz it makes sense to announce games coming for a console 7--10 months later. Instead, we will have a partner direct and maybe show silksong in their And we will also have individual trailers for the summer direct games We will have a January 2025 presentation Then we will have a February direct that announces metroid prime 4 being a crossgen and a launch game releasing in march 2025 New mario kart that will Release in April A legend of zelda wind waker and twilight princess 4K as a May 2025 game splatoon 4 as a June game And ending the direct with Open world 3D Mario as a Fall 2025 March 2025 switch 2 Is releases with metroid prime 4
I think the next Pokémon games are a gonna be: Legends Z-A (obviously we know that one) Gen 2 remakes (could be lets go or a 3D Scarlet/Violet open world maybe?) Gen 5 fusion games (So BW + BW2) Gen 10 Then I'm REALLY hoping for a Colosseum/XD remake, but with up-to-date mechanics including all the evolutions from the new games.
Personally I hate the thought of a open world mario, not every game has to turn into open world slop. Galaxy 3 would be much better, I want challenging levels and not looking for random moons that you could gain for just jumping on a block.
I‘m 22 and can’t fathom how much time went since I first bought Mario odyssey, Mario kart or GTA. I waited half my life. I hope I survive till Mario Kart 15 at least.
It would be awesome if Mario Kart 10 had a solo campaign akin to Diddy Kong Racing. There would be lobby maps with some mysteries, levels, and challenges.
I'd say a Mario Kart 9 would be their safest bet as that series has shown to be very accessible to everyone, but an Open World Mario might interest a lot of people, especially those who would adorable Odyssey but at a much wider scale
It's obvious that we won't get a new 3d Mario or Mario Kart, be patient, yeah sure it's been forever since we got them but these games take forever to be made so it's clearly not going to happen for a very long time and while you're at it stop milking switch 2, if I were you, I'd wait for the system to get announced and stop with the absurd expectations of launch titles.
I could see either. Mario Kart at launch would be good as it's a multiplayer game everyone could play together, but 3D Mario would be more innovative and blow people away more. I'd still bet on 3D Mario at launch and Mario Kart a few months later.
I'm hoping they'll finally create an "Odyssey 2" (no, not the console! 😂) & hopefully will be able 2 expand on it without losing the grand epic sweep and majesty of the original masterpiece. But that's going to be pret-ty tough to do, as "Odyssey" is THE perfect Mario masterpiece. 😊
I never got MK8D(I got my fair shake with original MK8 on WiiU), but I completely respect that it is going to be a big part of Nintendo's legacy going forward. You cannot just forget one of the most successful things they ever released. Infact, it makes one really think about the future of Mario Kart because anything they release now just cannot match it in either success or content, they pushed thenselves into a corner.
Personally, I think Nintendo is going to release both 3D Mario & Mario Kart near the launch of the console. I don't think Nintendo waited this long to release a console for nothing. They have been strategically developing the best line up for a Nintendo console ever, in order to overcome their trend of having a good console and then a bad one. I get your reasoning of spreading out one game to the holiday season, but I think that is a strategy Nintendo would drop. Previous Nintendo Consoles have always clearly relied extremely upon 1st party titles, and if they released them all at once, there would be no hype left for the rest of there console's timeline, but the new switch will be able to run huge MMOs hopefully like call of duty, which will mean Nintendo can get away with putting their huge launch titles all at once as they will be able to rely on the 3rd party games market much more than they have in previous console generations to keep interest in the console. I think Nintendo knows now, that if they make a sequel console, for the same target audience, with improved technology like they have with the Wii U, 3DS etc, they know it won't be as much of a success. I can see Nintendo trying to still target family oriented audiences, but also heavily targeting more mature audiences from Xbox and Playstation, who haven't really been exposed to the hybrid console gimmick yet. It's also very obvious that Nintendo has waited so long to release their console, as they have realised that like how they delay their games to make them perfect, they are trying to recreate the same strategy and apply it to their consoles. They are taking as much time as they need to make the most perfect console yet, to ensure its success. In the Nintendo community we dread at the news of a game being delayed, but a year later we experience a masterpiece like tears of the kingdom and realise that a delay was a good decision. I think the Nintendo community perhaps in a year when it releases will recognise that the console's quality was far better because of delays, and we will be glad that Nintendo took their time.
considering mario kart 8 just finished releasing its final dlc, the fact its been a hot minute since a mario 3d title. i think it would be fitting to release switch 2 with a mario galaxy 3
I think the thing with Mario, Nintendo wouldn’t want to make a game that is similar to BOTW? Original Mario was (always) meant to be a very linear experience, where as Zelda was (always) meant to be an open world game, focused on exploration. I’m sure Nintendo will make the next Mario and Mariokart games with something new and exciting.
I'm all in on Mario Kart being elevated to Smash levels of unique characterization and campaign modes. The amount of time to R&D the next Kart merits a dramatic change in the series, along with the fact that Smash's fate is up in the air.
The switch 2 NEEDS to lunch with a New Mario Kart. If we’ve learned anything from the past, the 3DS did better after Mario Kart 7 released in December closer to 2012, and the Switch as we can see has done wonders with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe coming out nearly 2 months of the switch releasing. So it definitely needs to be Mario Kart as it’s fun for literally anyone compared to other Mario games or Zelda or Metroid

We JUST got all the DLC expansions for Mario Kart 8 (I think we got it all. I don't know, I don't pay for Online+) We are definitely due for a new Mario Kart, though. Mario Kart 8 released for the Wii U. We technically don't have a new Mario Kart for Switch (except nobody played Wii U) If I did have a Wii U, I wouldn't buy Mario Kart 8 on Switch because they charged $60 for an existing game that wasn't even that expensive the 1st time around. But that's a separate issue.
10 years since a new Mario Kart, and almost all the DLC content from Booster Pass was rehashed courses. Sure there were a couple new ones that were good, and some of the remakes were pretty cool... but Switch never had, and likely will never have, a new Mario Kart. Mind blowing.

We need a new 3d Mario but Mario kart has been longer
i want the new console to have a wii u vibe, its kinda sad how the switch had no background music at all or how miis werent really used that much
When i started playing Mario kart on the ds i loved that when you die in balloon battle you would be a ghost laying traps it was funny and trying to stay alive being the last survivor was so much more challenging then the pint system
i still want a kirby launch title
Unlikely. 3D Mario should release at launch. Maybe they’ll announce the next Kirby game in September 2025 and release it in March 2026.
Waiting 8 or more years and having to buy a new console for a new 3d mario game is actually starting to bum me out.
A couple of other franchises that usually get a game within the first 2 years:
The Legend of Zelda (BoTW, LbW, OoA)
Super Smash Brothers (Ult, 4, Brawl, Melee)
Animal Crossing (Horizons originally set for 2019, NL, WW, AC)
Fire Emblem (BB, RD, Awakening, TH)
open world mario where the maap you normal walk on to get to new levels is just the actual world mario would def need a bit more attack and cobo ability but could stil be mostly a platformer
I love the open world Mario Kart game idea!
I also heard an idea for Smash Kart which would be like Mario Kart with Smash Bros characters and items that centers more around battles
get ready for mario kart 8 1/2 on the switch 2
Would be cool to see a vast roster of characters in Mario Kart, leaning towards Smash Bros with the guest characters from other series. Not to mention possibilities of having maps based on BotW, TotK, Fire Emblem and heck even Bayonetta. Would add some much needed spice to the series.
This is how i see switch 2s roadmap
September-October reveal with a March 2025 release
No September direct cuz it makes sense to announce games coming for a console 7--10 months later. Instead, we will have a partner direct and maybe show silksong in their
And we will also have individual trailers for the summer direct games
We will have a January 2025 presentation
Then we will have a February direct that announces metroid prime 4 being a crossgen and a launch game releasing in march 2025 New mario kart that will Release in April
A legend of zelda wind waker and twilight princess 4K as a May 2025 game
splatoon 4 as a June game
And ending the direct with Open world 3D Mario as a Fall 2025
March 2025 switch 2 Is releases with metroid prime 4
I doubt that it will be revealed in September because of the PS5 Pro
@@iLoveBread260 which is why i said maybe October which slso follows switch 1s reveal
Nintendo is probably gonna do the same thing with Totk that they did with Botw.
Unless the switch 2 has backwards compatibility
2013 being last year really brings back memories... 🤣🤣
I think the next Pokémon games are a gonna be:
Legends Z-A (obviously we know that one)
Gen 2 remakes (could be lets go or a 3D Scarlet/Violet open world maybe?)
Gen 5 fusion games (So BW + BW2)
Gen 10
Then I'm REALLY hoping for a Colosseum/XD remake, but with up-to-date mechanics including all the evolutions from the new games.
Personally I hate the thought of a open world mario, not every game has to turn into open world slop. Galaxy 3 would be much better, I want challenging levels and not looking for random moons that you could gain for just jumping on a block.
Disagree. I agree with the last part though.
You should try getting those really hard moons instead.
Valid
Super Mario Galaxy 3 would be awesome. I would buy it day one without second thought.
What did open world games do to you?
I’m praying for Mario and Luigi Brotherhood
i love your intro so much it sounds so relaxing every time i watch your videos
I‘m 22 and can’t fathom how much time went since I first bought Mario odyssey, Mario kart or GTA. I waited half my life. I hope I survive till Mario Kart 15 at least.
Man is really milking the switch 2
He's milking it for the content like nintendo prime
):
These videos pay their bills, can blame em.
pov: average Nintendo news by channel: "SWITCH 2???!!! I GOTTA MILK THIS!!!"
Launch: 3D Mario, Metroid Prime 4
Summer/Fall: Zelda Remake
Holiday: Mario Kart 10
It’ll be called Super Mario Kingdoms
It would be awesome if Mario Kart 10 had a solo campaign akin to Diddy Kong Racing. There would be lobby maps with some mysteries, levels, and challenges.
I'd say a Mario Kart 9 would be their safest bet as that series has shown to be very accessible to everyone, but an Open World Mario might interest a lot of people, especially those who would adorable Odyssey but at a much wider scale
I think a new mario kart game for the switch 2 would be so cool. They should release that day 1 when the switch comes out.
I find your lack of faith DISTURBING
@@olliedownie190 I have the high ground though
@@olliedownie190I think we should be happy with what we are getting at this point
I personally think that the booster pack development was simply a warmup exercise for the next Mario cart
I never got MK8D(I got my fair shake with original MK8 on WiiU), but I completely respect that it is going to be a big part of Nintendo's legacy going forward. You cannot just forget one of the most successful things they ever released.
Infact, it makes one really think about the future of Mario Kart because anything they release now just cannot match it in either success or content, they pushed thenselves into a corner.
the curb must make an appearance at the launch
Launch with a Big Mario, then Mario Kart(a month later), then Metroid Prime 4 (summer)
It’ll be called Super Mario Kingdoms! And will be an open world game
Mario Sunshine 2 would be amazing 🤩
We need Mario galaxy 3. Please Nintendo I am begging you
Personally, I think Nintendo is going to release both 3D Mario & Mario Kart near the launch of the console.
I agree we need 3D Mario in 2025 but I still have mixed feelings about open world
I am really hyped for the next Mario Kart and open world game
I want the new Barbie game project friendship on switch for my birthday
I feel sorry for the team making Mario Kart 9! You have to surpass MK8!? Madness.
Two devices: Switch Attach so you can play 3DS and DS games and Nintendo Focus/Switch Focus. Focussed on great games, both in house and 3rd party.
Dude, it’s been 10 years since we had a new Mario kart game
I think the thing with Mario, Nintendo wouldn’t want to make a game that is similar to BOTW?
Original Mario was (always) meant to be a very linear experience, where as Zelda was (always) meant to be an open world game, focused on exploration.
I’m sure Nintendo will make the next Mario and Mariokart games with something new and exciting.
Have you played any zelda games other than botw and totk 😂😂
@@thatgushiekid1662have you played the original and the creator himself has said it's meant to be a sandbox
he does know that 3d mario and mario kart are seperate teams... right?
Switch literally doubled the sales of 3ds
@@teufelhund3801but not the ds
No they need a new 3d mario, Mario kart in a few months
@@manymore6588 OP specifically was talking about Mario Kart being a booster, DS line up didn't have Mario Kart, and the Switch has 9 years less time on market and has sold nearly as much as DS...
@@teufelhund3801 I think the switch is better
If they don’t make the miis more involved in the console I’m not buying it
Well it is Mario's 40th anniversary next year so we're bound to get MORE than just a new 3D Mario game for Switch 2... in the 35th anniversary direct for Mario we got the Mario Game & Watch, Mario 35, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Mariokart Live: Home Circuit, and 3D All Stars... that was a lot.. so just imagine what we'll get in the 40th anniversary direct next year!
Interested to see what a new Mario Kart track design would even look like, without mirroring 8 and the DLC too much
I was thinking about the dinosaur capture in Super Mario Odessey and it got me thinking ... what if a 3D Mario Game takes place on Yoshi's dinosaur island and allows Mario and Co to collect abilities to turn them into different dinosaurs
I would say we're getting both. Maybe not right away, maybe we will get a new 3D Mario right at launch, and Mario Kart a little later.
We JUST got all the DLC expansions for Mario Kart 8 (I think we got it all. I don't know, I don't pay for Online+)
We are definitely due for a new Mario Kart, though.
Mario Kart 8 released for the Wii U.
We technically don't have a new Mario Kart for Switch (except nobody played Wii U)
If I did have a Wii U, I wouldn't buy Mario Kart 8 on Switch because they charged $60 for an existing game that wasn't even that expensive the 1st time around. But that's a separate issue.
this is the first video i noticed that when he asked us to subscribe, the actual subscribe button on youtube did a little rainbow outline animation
they BETTER make this thing backwards compatible
10 years since a new Mario Kart, and almost all the DLC content from Booster Pass was rehashed courses. Sure there were a couple new ones that were good, and some of the remakes were pretty cool... but Switch never had, and likely will never have, a new Mario Kart. Mind blowing.
Ah yes my daily switch two video thank you nin10doland
You must have the daily fix
I dont know why people have collectivrly accepted the headcanon that the switch 2 will have joy cons with empty slots to adjust them up and down. They would collect dust or move when you dont want them to and theyd be completely useless sideways
Heck why did everyone just agree that it will be the Switch 2? It’s like the laziest name for an upcoming console ever.
