This ended up being quite an epic video in the end! I actually think a fairly decent one of these could be made with the right approach, just maybe skip a few things, what would you put in yours?! More Christmas recipes here th-cam.com/play/PLfItiEY3o1muTiP-Zsvq2-NTy3uNeu52o.html
Turkey, ham, cranberry, roasted sprouts, mashed POTATOES, sweet POTATOES, gravy, Mac and cheese
Sounds good@@danielsantiagourtado3430
YES! Good shout!@@Boogie_the_cat
@@mrbarrylewis thanks mate
Why do I want to quote Oppenheimer when I saw the thumbnail ? - Happy Christmas mate. P.S. Maybe do a Christmas bubble and squeak with the left-overs.
Hope everyone has a nice Christmas, i've got two more videos up before the end of the Year and then into a small break for a couple of weeks.
Pretty sure that layer 3 was broccoli with stuffing and not Brussels sprouts 😂😂😂 come on Bazza 😂
Seems like the top layer would be breakfast, then a little mince pie while you wait for dinner 😂
haha yes that well known combo!
@@mrbarrylewisvery good 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Yes, I thought the same - it's supposed to be the whole day of food, maybe?
@@mrbarrylewis I mean it's a better option than having it as a starter for actual Christmas dinner 😂
Exactly! Mince pies and sherry for elevensies while opening the presents
Thank you for showing your GCSEs Barry. Even though they ultimately don't matter that much it helps to show people you can achieve what you want even with a rocky start
This.
Zedaph being in this video is something I did not expect to happen at all! I had no idea you two knew eachother! That's another collap I didn't know I wanted or was even possible, that's great Barry!
Knowing the shenanigans of Zedaph, this is a collab I am eagerly awaiting.
@@Taolan8472 Same! You think they might combine cooking and minecraft? Maybe some Cooking for Blockheads mod action?
Congrats Barry... You discovered Turkey croquettes!
haha yes!
Christmas Tinner?? Haven’t even started watching and feeling like this should be on Ashen’s channel! Merry Christmas Barry!! And hoping 2024 is stonking!! ❤
If only he made an appearance?!
Ashens actually did review a Christmas Dinner In A Can once.
The eggs & bacon are your Christmas Day brekkie, then the mince pie is your elevenses. You then have your main Christmas Day lunch, followed by Christmas Pud - you're missing the cream or brandy butter, but other than that, it makes sense!!!!
No way! Barry and Zedaph is the christmas collab I never knew I needed but now I need it immediately!
Yep, he's a good guy, we'll have something out in the New Year
I'm so excited!
Been watching Zed for years. Him popping up here was not on my bingo card lol
I suspect that the “idea” here was that you start at the top and eat it layer by layer - but still… you’re a braver man than I, Mr. Lewis!
Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful family :)
No way, Zedaph and Barry!! That's so cool! I love your videos (yours and his). Can't wait for the shenanigans with Zed!
You do realise you're becoming a chef of some kind and a cooking expert? From trying to follow simple recipes you're now working out how to make things that don't actually exist. Merry Christmas Chef Barry and family!
If the sweet layers and savory layers were were stacked together and not mixed I'd give it a try. Fun video.
Cheers, yeah ultimately separately they weren't too bad!
@@mrbarrylewisYES 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love the choice of mixing.. many things mix great on Christmas but pre mixed isn't nearly as good because everyone has their own ratio of the mix.
You could have gotten a massive tin , in America they sell 5 lb cans of baked beans and other things at the local Walmart.
For the gaming family of 4?
I was thinking more one of those big cans of chicken broth that are absolutely everywhere here during the holidays.
First discovered you when Zed mentioned a potential Collab, can't count how many videos I've watched since then! You've both got a similar vibe, it's gonna be a great pairing!
hi, Barry been binge-ing your videos, i really like them at first it was cause of the creative projects but the thing that stands out is the cozy feeling of you doing the activities and trying to invite us to watch the process with you, making it so easy to leave on throughout my day. I wanted to get this message to you cause the feel of your videos have been such a nice break from the other science and cooking videos i get recommended. Thankyou.
such a fun video Barry and it was great to see a cameo from Stuart near the end. Hope you and your family have an amazing Christmas.
I wasn't expecting Zedaph to make a surprise appearance!
Great guy, we've become good friends recently
Merry Christmas to you and yours. Another great video. Can't wait to see what you and @zedaph do together. He is such a great Hermit. Take care.
Merry Christmas Barry! Thanks for a year of awesome videos. Excited for the new studio videos for next year!
Did you ever consider the irony at working so hard to make sure the gravy doesn't touch anything else in a Christmas dinner?
haha I do now!
We do this in USA (Canada ??). BUT use Thanksgiving holiday feast leftovers.. It's good especially layarded between slices of American Biscuit loaf (think usa Bread round short muffin but but as a loaf of bread)
Love how you made a bonus recipe alongside. If my christmas money can afford a food processor, I might actually try that turkey-tater croquette-cake
American here. I could easily see a Thanksgiving Dinner done like this. I mean, we basically already do this on a sandwich the day after so.. Also, one of us should send Barry some big American cans.
The "World Foods" aisle in a supermarket usually has things in 850g tins.
Seeing you working with a mold that you sawed off in half, sanded and taped back together reminded me of your "giant" videos, like the huge Easter egg you did. Maybe it's time to go to "mini" size? Anyways, I loved the video and the gaming lore that came with it. As usual, thank you for your hard work. Happy holidays/Merry Christmas to you and your adorable family, including Boston, of course. I hope 2024 brings you health, happiness, new dreams and a million subscribers!
What an epic video. Love it!
Happy holidays to Barry and the family
Well done Barry. Looks just like the old can.. I remember them from years ago..
Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family. And Boston.
7:15 I think telling your children to "do your best" is perfectly good advice. They get so stressed by their teachers to get 100%. I got E's, C's and F's as well (i don't remember ever going passed a B) but there are so many resources these days, they can just get the degrees needed elsewhere whenever they figure out their future career.
Very well done. Looks exactly like it. And thanks for shouting out my documentary! Much appreciated. Merry Christmas!
I’VE HAD SCRAMBLED EGG AND TOAST WITH SMOKED SALMON FOR CHRISTMAS DAY BREAKFAST EVERY CHRISTMAS FOR MY WHOLE LIFE
Those Brussels sprouts were the weirdest Broccoli that i have ever seen.. :D (Sorry. couldn't resist the joke from that error there)
Merry Christmas to you and the whole family. :)
Booooooo 😂😂😂😂
Hysterical!!! Happy Christmas Barry and family!!
Haha, love this Barry! Merry Christmas to you and the family!
Thanks
I think the mince pies are supposed to be the starter, which might mean the scrambled egg is breakfast, maybe?
I really hope Ashens gets to try this one day, given that he's done chicken/turkey in a tin before.
I wonder if it was supposed to be deviled eggs and not scrambled eggs
@@SilvaDreams Could be and in a way that would make more sense.
Mrs. Barry on Christmas Day: "....umm...where's the Christmas pudding?"
"Don't worry love I shoved it in the bottom of a tin of beans"
It is always astonishing to me just how many TH-camrs I watch know each other, utterly amazing! And that Tinner honestly looked pretty good, I feel like, if it were real, putting it in the oven or something for like 5 minutes or so could probably do it a couple of favours, that looked really funky :D Very fun video and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!
Look up "Barshens" you will not be disappointed
Amazing video, great project! Have an excellent holiday!
My god, you brought back some childhood memories. Thank you for making them real again :D Merry Xmas;
Fantastic Barry, absolutely a delight to watch!
Merry Christmas! Barry, Mrs. B and girls. May you all have a wonderful holiday.
Lovely shot of me stuffing my face with a mince pie. Cheers Barry!
A very merry Christmas to you and mrs B and the kids!!! From Flanders , Belguim.
We need another Ashens and Barry collab again some day! He should come over to you!
All the best Bazza for xmas and the new year, pal.
How funny!!! You were great in remaking the tinner!😅
Absolutely brilliant 🎅🏻🎄😊
Great video as always. I may stick with the full English breakfast in a tin though 😀 Merry Christmas to you and the family. Hope 2024 is a stonking year (you WILL get to a million subscribers!)
Cheers Barry. You have somehow filled a part of my life I never knew existed with this video. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I would love to see Barry make a hello panda. Maybe giant.
Merry Christmas , perfect video for the day!
Thank you for adding subtitles:)
Very interesting idea 💡& thanks Barry 🤗🎅🎄🥳
"Brussels sprouts mixed with stuffing"
But.. It says "broccolli" ? lol
Different images available some higher quality than others, basically gave you the choice
Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family! 🎄🩷
Merry Christmas Barry to you and your family, and hope you all have a happy and healthy 2024
Much love and respect from a new subscriber. x
Omg. My two worlds are colliding. I love zedaph!
I never expected zedd and barry collab,I'll take it as sign of good new year.
Wouldn't the eggs and bacon be breakfast, mince pie elevensis, then Xmas lunch?
That was fun. Merry Christmas to you and the family.
Cheers and to you :)
I did not expect a zed collab comming, i guess i know what ill be watchin when it drops!
Reat effort well done. 😂
And a Merry Christmas to you. 😂😂
Matt is the Prints of Labels
Barry. Super respect intended :D There's a difference between 'charred' and 'browned'.
Blackened, charred, browned... Even burnt. Very different things that live close to one another.
Nothing in this video was charred. Not in any of your videos that I can recall :)
Love watching though. Such enjoyable ideas.
Many thanks...
never thought i would see zedaph on your channel
Happy christmas Barry and ur family x
How about using Turkey mince and mix with mashed up roasted potatoes, Parsnips, stuffing, bacon, sprouts, cranberry sauce, bread sauce and Gravy to make a kind of meatloaf
I've been trying to get my hands on one of these for years but every single time they apparently just don't exist and do exist both at the same time...Schrodinger's Tinner!
I don't even know where to begin, but "going to your local tax office and asking to use their printer" was not on my list of things that would have reasonably happened in this (or any) video.
Zedaph! Freaking love that guy 😊
Merry Christmas eve barry! Hope You and the fam have an amazing day! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Cheers, you too
@@mrbarrylewisThanks❤❤❤
When I saw the thumbnail I was like no wayyyy😂
Happy Christmas Barry and family❤
You know you could probably make this a bit more gift-friendly by making one in a wide-mouth 3/4 pint mason jar (~350ml size jar) and using something like a cocktail muddler to tamp the ingredients down smooth, to the edges of the jar to seal the layers off from each other and also make nice defined layers to see from the side of the jar.
Obviously you wouldn't be giving those as gifts to people who wouldn't get it, but for someone like Stewart I bet he'd love it.
Should keep the mince pie on the bottom, as that's usually the last to be eaten, and make the top layer mashed potato followed by roast potatoes. I agree, pigs in blankets should be added. The tin should be whole, so it can be heated up in a pot of water, and eaten from the top down.
Happy Christmas Barry and family
Thanks and to you!
Merry Christmas to you and your family 💝💝💝
As a culinarian I cannot be happier that this thing actually doesn't already exist
Could pull it off using jars. For making at home method. After filling, put the jar(s) into a pot of water that's has an isolating layer like wood, silicone or a metal grill from a circle air fryer to keep the jar from touching the bottom of the pot ( prevents burning ) then boil till the jar filling starts to steam, then remove and screw the lid on. Could also do it in the oven till fillings start steaming. The point of boiling then putting a lid on the jar while fillings are still steaming is to both sanitize and create a vacume. Basicaly making it shelf stable and can probably last possibly a year or more at room temp maybe longer in mini fridge set to 10 to 15 degrees celsius. Any colder might cause ingredients to seperate. Can probably use a canner to put it into tins and using the same method for sanitization and vacume seal.
Could use edible rice paper to seperate leaky layers so that your not using to much jellition.
Make sure to let them cool down to room temp'ish before refrigerating, prevents certain bacterial growth ( like salmonella) due to sudden tempature shifts. Might work best if to refrigerate for a few days then return to room temp. To help with further sanitizing and curing the filling.
I guess for reheating just remove lid and boil can / jar in water or put into oven to heat up enough to eat from can / jar. But can be eaten at room temp. But things that have jelly it might not be as good / liquidy.
Try testing if putting the egg mix in while liquid the steaming the can cooks the eggs. Might prevent the eggs from overcooking.
Making the filling steam then sealing creates a vacume by the steam replacing the air then when it cools down it creates a vacume when the water steam un-expands.
We actually make Thanksgiving dumplings: turkey, mashed potatoes, grated pumpkin, cranberries, and stuffing inside of a dough wrapper. Boiled and then fried. It is incredible!
Merry Christmas to You and your Family!
Loved this one, so creative. My toddler was also fascinated watching this 😂 He thought you were making a layer cake haha.
You have an aspiring chef there😊 Encourage him/her!
I would try it. Looks interesting.
Wait you and Zedaph video? I have been watching you for years and also watching Zed for years! Sounds awesome.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and have a good one and a happy new year. All the best in 2024. Keep great work and vlogs
Man you had to remind me how one of my worst grades was in cooking class, all because the teacher was absent 90% of the time and flat out believed I couldn't possibly have made food this good so the other kids must have done it. She's probably the reason why I almost don't cook despite loving it and being great at it.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Lewis Family 🤟🇨🇦
Got to about 30 seconds before Stuart thinking, this should be another Stuart Ashens/ Barry Lewis colab! I think it could actually work but you need to be carefully done several times to get it right. Merry Christmas!
Barry! Incredible video!
Now, I’d love to see a - Boxing Day Tinner - some left overs but layer up -
Turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, parsnips carrots and a dash of gravy with a layer of peas!!
I would love to actually eat it! Haha
When using honey for roasted veg, add a little cooking oil, this will bring the burning point up to a higher temp
Good call, Barry! Just keep those windows open ...gut fermentation is a surprising thing ....!
This reminds me of the Captains ''Special'' cake from the film 'Carry on Cruising' lol
Hello Barry Happy Christmas to you and the family
Thanks mate
Zedaph!! Love the crossover
Amazing I always thought that was a real thing.
if the top is supposed to be like breakfast i would putpain au chocolat or something
Oh good shout!
I got a D in GCSE PE. It was my favourite lesson and I put in 100% in every lesson, just to be overlooked. I played for every team I could, in and outside school. I got my bronze medallion lifesaving award and became a lifeguard illegally at 15 as they were understaffed and I should have been 16 and have an NPLQ (national pool lifeguard qualification). I got an "apprenticeship" but should have actually had the NPLQ and been 16 first before working poolside by myself. I won a junior British taekwondo championship at 17, I became a gym instructor at 19, then I had my own taekwondo business that was passed down from my instructor. I became a chief instructor and grading examiner. I was part of my old PE teacher's 20 year old son's sparring line up and was on the grading panel. My old teacher paid me to pressure test his son and kick and punch him, then judge him on how he did 🤣. And then paid me £50 for the privilege to test him and give him a new belt that cost me £5.
I wonder if the cranberry sauce enhanced the mince pie sweetness with the pudding to make a sweet explosion in your mouth. Well Merry Christmas to you and the family.
Happy Christmas
It looks like something Rachel would make... and like Joey, I'd give it a try 👍👍🤟😂🇨🇦
