Well this turned out jolly stonkin indeed for a first attempt, genuinely thought this may not go great, but pretty pleased and hope you try it! There’s Air Fryer KFC here if you fancy some more ideas th-cam.com/video/In_MGF2Fg6A/w-d-xo.html what should I make next?
Love your content! Make a dessert PLEASE
That's a very wide suggestion Daniel! Anything specific?@@danielsantiagourtado3430

Barry, parboiling sprouts isn’t necessary, I hated them til I tried roasting them. Peel & halve them, coat them in an emulsion of olive oil and maple syrup (how much is based on how many sprouts. 2 pounds of sprouts requires 3 tablespoons of oil & 2 tablespoons of maple syrup) place just the coated sprouts (not any residual oil & syrup) on a baking sheet, sprinkle with salt and pepper and roast at 450 degree oven (the temp one usually roasts a potato at) for 30 or so minutes or until caramelized & you can insert a paring knife in easily. I start checking them at 25 minutes, sometimes it can take 40 minutes. My kids love them
I’ve never had or used an air fryer.
Got one this Christmas, unpacked and prepped it Christmas Eve.
Watched a few TH-cam videos and we cooked the whole Christmas dinner using it.
It was quick and easy. There was very little washing up and that was done while the meal was being plated up.
The meal was delicious and the ALDI Turkey crown was moist and tender. Only cutlery and plates to wash afterwards.
We had one of the most relaxed Christmas days ever.
I think mine was more relaxed. TBF. I didn't spend a penny and visited friends and walked away stuffed having not spent a penny or moved a finger. I've done enough Christmases in my time, now I sit back and let everyone else do it.
Delia was shaking up the potatoes before Jamie was a gleam in his dad's eye 😀
Thanks Barry! At the moment, I’ve gone back to school pretty far from home and my dorm only has two hobs, and you can bring some kitchen appliances. I’ve got a kettle and an air fryer. No microwave, no oven! So videos like this help a lot. :)
Awesome, good luck
Just an air fryer? Ask for an Instant Pot Duo Crisp or Ninja Foodi for Christmas, this will elevate your no hob cooking game several levels.
as someone that moved into their own place recently, god.. just.. thank you barry.. i am very much without any friends and family.. th.. thank you.. def wanna try this
You are welcome
Many people think sprouts are not tasty because years ago when most of us were kids, they weren’t very tasty. Nowadays they’ve been grown to be a lot less sour and much more tasty. So if you haven’t eaten a sprout since you were a kid, may be worth trying one this Christmas and giving them another chance. Also we know how to cook them properly, as years ago they were just boiled until they were mostly water!
I believe you are right. I have not yet recovered from the trauma of watery, overcooked sprouts from my youth. I do believe that roasting them are the way to make them good. Maybe I'll get myself an airfryer next year and try that.
100%!
loved sprouts as a kid. bite sized greens are good
@@anndownsouth5070 I like to halve them, steam them to just cooked and then fry with chestnuts and spices. You get that crispy char on the outside, crunch on the inside and mixture of flavours. Amazing
@@xChimkin I did too but was lucky my parents used to steam them, so they weren’t watery or mushy. Had some at a friends house and they were so awful and water sprayed in my mouth as I bite into them I was so confused. Made me appreciate how lucky I was having two parents who could both cook good food and who taught me to cook.
A recommendation: If you want to gently warm a sauce in the air fryer, put the sauce into a small stainless steel bowl that is tightly covered with aluminium foil. It's a LOT less messy to clean up after.
love how much barry has grown to use the airfryer from not using it at all. to doing a decent ammound of recipies :D
haha yeah it's still a hair dryer but I like it and that is only really based on this £40 thing
I love our air fryer, it looks like a little oven, though it's not the kind that you were using. It saves a lot of electricity and time. Also, I always microwave potatoes and veggies that take longer to soften, for 10 to 12 mins in a bowl covered in water before air frying. For weeknights, there is no more switching on the oven in our house. 😛
How about ‘Arry the Air Fryer? Genius dinner there, making me hungry. Merry Christmas everyone.
Like that!
Last year I made a "Turkey Wellington", with cranberry in the middle, then turkey pounded flat, wrapped in bacon, then stuffing as the duxelles, then all wrapped in puff pastry. It came out stonking, if huge. :D
That looks bloody lovely, Barry. I do think that a quarter of that turkey roll (brilliant idea, BTW), would be fine for one person, especially with all the veg, and PIB, etc. It'd be perfect for me - as I've got older, I actually find eating big meals a bit of a chore, to be honest. But what you have created here is bang on.
Tidy.
You and your family have a good one. 👍👍👍
Thanks Brian, yeah I halved it and was like 'oh, that's still big lol'
I only use my air fryer these days never my oven. I have never been disappointed with anything i have cooked.
I'd name it friar tuck, I always hated the thought of sprouts untill I got a part time job on the produce section of a supermarket when I was 18. I'm 37 now & love them!! Sad I missed out on my first 18yrs without them😂
I’m a little late to the party Barry but love this! Just bought my first air fryer (also a Tower!) for £27.
I look forward to using it as it’s a struggle to reach a conventional cooker from my wheelchair. Absolutely love following your channel and look forward to seeing you in 2024. Best wishes to you and your family.
The kitchen team in the catering business where I work, have named their new mixer Tina, after Tina Turner.
Thumbs up for the fridge named Valerie 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽
Happy holidays barry! Thanks for all your videos ! Always amazing! 🎄🎄🎄🎄❤️❤️❤️
Air fryers are amazing Barry! Thanks for showing us more use for them! And you could make salmon!😊😊😊😊
What sort of salmon? Thanks Daniel

Seriously I think this was genius!! Such a good idea when making a big holiday meal would be far too much food and work. It could easily be an anytime meal (maybe scale back the items);) but in that amount of time you could have a special meal and leftovers. Great great video. I’m actually going to do the meat using chicken and roast the veggies for dinner. Thank you once again for inspiring all of us to try something new.
That's awesome thanks a bunch
Barry this is an absolute triumph! It looks amazing as well. I will say, air fried brussels are amazing just halved raw, tossed in a little olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic and chucked straight in the AF- no par-boiling required. So good.
Thankyou for helping make my Christmas dinner special, because I'm cooking mine and Alaska my dog our dinner in a Tower air fryer come dehydrator, Cheers mate, merry Christmas 🎉🎉❤
You have truly inspired my husband. He watches you so carefully. In fact my husband, who not speak or understand English, is so amazed by you he actually will try to cook this Christmas day for me. ❤😂😂😂🎉. Brian you are a treasure! 😊 Bless you.
Arnold the airfryer; ‘I’ll be back’ 😂 Can’t ruddy destroy that thing!!
haha yes!
Just bought my second air fryer! Wore the other one out, and I freakn' love it. Sprouts are absolutely awesome from the air fryer. Thanks heaps for the video and happy holidays to you and the fam. Greetz from Newcastle Australia. 💜
Oh wow good work!
You made a Turpigage! (Turkey, Pig, Sausage)
Damn, I want to try this now.
It seems like in the past brussel sprouts were just boiled and mushy. Once I started frying or roasting them we love them now.
100%
I remember you called your air fryer Allan the Air Fryer. 😅😅😅 So good job Allan the Air Fryer! 😁
Haha yes!
This reminds me of some solitary holiday meals people had, and had to cook, during Covid lockdowns.
Happy holidays 🎄❤💚 I think the air fryer name would be cool as "Fryer Tuck"
Many blessings
Thank you for all you do 🥰
The Look of love you had for that meal, I almost heard Violins when Smokey sings. I think you should call the fryer Martin. I love watching your recipes. they are simple as ABC to follow.
Merry Christmas to you and Mrs B and the girls 😊
Thanks, I have another video up Christmas eve!
This looks absolutely gorgeous! The more i watch people cooking in airfryer, I am getting more and more convinced that i need to buy one ☺️
Great idea, will give this a try.
OMG the Christmas Dinner looks fab! Totally trying this!
Thankyou
Loved this Barry. Fantastic. Happy Christmas x

Wow that looks delicious 😋 Thanks Barry & Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you & your family 🎅🎄🥳
I think there is only one name for your air fryer:" Barryfryer".
Thank you for this very delicious and entertaining video!
That looks amazing. Merry Christmas to you and the family-Boston too!
Looks amazing! Bet it tastes great!
Merry Christmas to you Mrs B and the girls and not forgetting Boston 🎄🎄🎄🎉🎊
Everything looks delicious! Happy holidays Barry🎄
That looks so good!😊
I will try this. Thank you. 😊 🎄🎅
Fun experiment and inspiring too. I want to try at least some of this for Christmas.
I'd leave the tasty bits from the meat and veg in the fryer to flavor the gravy.
Absolutely gorgeous Barry! Definitely trying your turkey and stuffing roll 😋
Happy holidays Barry! My humble gift to you is the clearly correct name for an air fryer: StEVEN Fry.
Looks super licious
wow thats crazy ! great vid mate
That looks fantastic as you're plating it up. I'm thinking I should ask for an air fryer for Christmas.
i love Brussel sprouts my favourite but stuffing, cranberry the best looked amazing such a great christmas sweater another fun video
Ot looks good. Great meal for christmas!
That's a good idea Thanks Barry
Cheers
Awesome Video Barry Lewis also Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Barry Lewis 😊
Have to say Barry, I’m well impressed with this 😂 you’ve outdone yourself
Wow… looks so good
Did dehydrated beef in the Ninja yesterday as a practise run for xmas and it's AMAZING!
Oh nice!
Well done!
I've had a cheap one for 3 years and bought a Phillips one last Christmas. Meat and fish gets cooked in the older one with veg and 'clean', less fatty foods in the newer one.
I only use the oven for cakes and big roasts these days.
My parents got me an airfryer as an early Christmas gift, and oh boy do I love it. Some things come out way better then when I did them differently (chicken breast, chicken legs, chips, ham and cheese toastie...)
That looks amazing 😮 🤤
The first time I had sprouts was at a buffet and they were boiled. I just added a touch of vinegar as they reminded me of cabbage. The next time I had them they were roasted with a nice char. Simply lovely as is.
one of my favourite things to air fry recently have been brussel sprouts so good
On brand!
H i barry liked your take on the christmas dinner for 1 done in the air fryer i also enjoy your other videos just like to say merry christmas to all your family and many thanks again for each and every one of your excellent videos top notch
Thankyou
I have a Cosori air fryer and a Tower one too. I could never be without these two air fryers, the tower is smaller, the cosori a lot larger, I use both daily, everything I cook I put in the air fryers, buy a good air fryer cookery book. If you buy a large turkey then use a halogen oven. You’ve got it made.
Nice job Barry! Great video idea that.
Cheers, pleasantly surprised with how it turned out
looks delish barry! i think parboiling the veg wasnt even necessary. cut up the veg small enough and bake them for long enough and they get nice and crispy and fully baked all the way through, like the potatoes are crispy and golden brown on the outside but fluffy and soft on the inside!
Thats one stonking looking xmas dinner.
Airy Fryer? Instead of Harry Potter? This recipe looks so good, I think I am going to try this!
Carpet Of Turkey is a great name for a band lol
yes actually so is 'air fryer'
Talking about the bacon-turkey-sausage roll "We all have someone like that in our family, and if you don't, then it's probably you..." Guilty as charged 😂😂😂
Love this, and it's a bit of a coincidence that Kush did a similar main dish for Christmas on Sorted Food this week. ❤
Brussel sprouts in the air frier , sprinkle balsamic vinegar when done. Delicious
I didn’t want an air fryer until u just made a full Xmas dinner out of it. it’s quite and expressive little thing isn’t it 😮😮
That looks amazing. Merry Ho Ho!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family ❤
I really don't understand why you dislike airfryers so much, Barry. They're great kitchen tools especially for people who don't have access to full size ovens.
Yum yum
that looked really nice, i have a big Ninja oven and that will cook a dinner easily, so glad i got it
Oh man...my wife is in the care industry and always ends up working Christmas Day, so I'm always cooking for one... I've always done the turkey roll in the Instant Hot Pot, the tatties, pigs in blankets and stuffing in the airfrier and the veg in a saucepan. I could have saved myself a lot of washing up and more time watching the box with this method!!!!!
Well done Barry
Thanks, was quite surprising!
The best part of an air fryer is for reheating leftovers like pizza and fried chicken! Best way to make it get as close as possible to like it was fresh! Would love to see a video of you testing out different leftovers reheated in an airfryer 😂
Couple of suggestions there - Firstly, ditch the spray oil and just buy a cheap atomizer and fill with your own regular cooking oil. Much cheaper, better oil, less harmful chemicals ("Lite" spray oils are far worse for you than the small amount of oil you need)
Secondly - you wasted all those delicious meat juices by cleaning the pan before heating the packet gravy!
Third - don't parboil the sprouts, that actually makes them taste more bitter
Commenting for the algorithm, thanks for the video.
Great video😊😊
the best air fryer are actually the all in one counter top ovens , £150ish , that also has a rotary attachment for whole joints of chicken or turkey ,they do grill , bake and air fryer functionality
yep I am the guy that I'd be fine eating all that for Christmas dinner :) hehe and more!
HI BARRY
DEBRA HERE FROM SOUTH WALES
My suggestion to name your fryer is FRYER TUCK, because you fry in it and it is small enough to tuck away in a cupboard.
I have an air fryer and I use it to cook loads of things in it, i will try anything in it at least once and if it dont work well lesson learned for next time.
My daughter cooked Christmas Dinner for the 2 of us in the air fryer last year. It was gurt lush!!!! (Bloody lovely for those not from the West Country!!!😂)
I did ours in air fryer... Nut roast, carrots, potatoes, Yorkshire puddings. Broccoli and gravy in sauce pans on stove. It's all about timing.
MashaAllah boht zabardast ❤🎉
I always do Sunday dinner in the air fryer. You can get microwave frozen mashed potato and have it all ready at the same time.
Love this idea! Name for the air fryer....DANNY FRYER! 😅
Air fryers are awesome.
Happy Christmas Barry, we have to come up with a name for that meat concoction too reminded me of TurDuckEn
Bertha is a good name for a air fry.
loved that show
Sprouts are one of my favourites
#teamsprout
You have the same air fryer as me. Cool. Be great as it's only two of us so the dinner you cooked I'm gonna try out. Thanks 😅
About water in an air fryer, try those little 10-14cm lidded ramakins, I use them for making mini casseroles for one person in the air fryer. 20mins is fine and then I left for another 40minutes for flavours to infuse and for the actual ceramic to cool down so I can get it out with my fingers
(in my smallest air fryer, 1kw tower 2l)
This could actually be a great way to save money on electricity while making the Christmas dinner- will definitely take a few tips from this video!
