Oh, I so wish you were my teacher years ago. No one has ever explained waves so well. Thank you.

You are an excellent teacher......I have been successful with landscapes and florals...(self taught), but I just felt overwhelmed when it comes to seascapes. I have learned so much by watching your videos...and to me the most important is to calm down, slow down and really "look". I have just subscribed and am now ready to begin my new adventure, thanks to you!

I had to laugh when you said one little wave. I was like, "Days, he worked on this for days and he calls it one little wave. lol" That's dedication. I love that you take the time to teach and show us every little technique. Your painting is beautiful. At first I didn't understand why you intentionally chose an orange yellow background but seeing it finished, it makes so much sense.

One thing I've noticed in my own painting and in the works of so many painters, is the high concentration of work and detail, in the case of right handed painters, on the left hand side of the picture (on the right in the case of left handed painters). I'm guessing it may be a more casual approach is adopted where the hand feels most confident which results in a less worked bias side of the painting and a more self consciously (over)worked less confident side.
I'd be interested to know if other painters have noticed this too.

Thank you so much for explaining the waves so well! Even though I studied to be a marine biologist, painting waves has always been a problem for me. I use acrylics since I can't have oils in the house due to my health problems and my 8 year olds health problems. Using your techniques has helped me tremendously! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!

Buena suerte !🎨

Zinc white does yellow, though manufacturers say they have used "less" of what yellows over the years... but I believe the zinc is the actual problem there, so, what they are saying is they use less zinc? lol, anyway- my paintings I did in college 34 years ago have yellowed where I used it. It not like, drastically yellow, but definitely shifted and tinged after only 34 years.

The dots on the left of the wave do not look real.
