I've followed this advice and got the correct cable but I've got many, many photos on iPhone that I do not want to put into LR so I want to just import the ones I've selected on my phone. I can't seem to do this. How can I import just those selected few?
Thanks for another enlightening video! Now I know why I'm not getting an iPhone--it uses lightning connector, yet another plug to keep track of along with USB A, B, C, Micro B, Super Speed , Micro and Mini! That's what I love about standards--there are so many to choose from! Maybe some Monday you can talk about using Lr on your phone (works for Android too!) to automatically upload to the cloud and thence to LrC on the laptop or desktop. No pesky cables to worry about. (I'm not sure if it works automatically for images taken with the phone's built-in camera software or whether you have to use the camera through Lr.)
Quick question: When I connect my iPhone, all my recently taken images appear mixed up within all existing images I may have on my phone, rather than at the beginning or end of the list. (I'm sure we all keep family members etc constantly on the phone) So, how do I get Lightroom to read them in chronological order so I can easily select the most recent ones?
When you connect your iPhone to the computer with a cable, it will show up as a device when you choose to import photos. On an iPhone, you have to tell it to "trust" the computer. After all of your images appear in the input window, Select "Copy" up top, and at the bottom you will see Sort - choose Capture Time and choose Z/A to see by newest. Then select the images you want and make sure they are the only ones checked. Then choose your Destination on the right side of the window. Hope this helps!
I tried this and it works fine. I've been getting my iPhone photos into Lightroom by exporting them from the Photos app on my Mac and then importing them into Lightroom. I don't know which method imports higher quality photos or if they're the same. Does anyone know?
I have 6k photos on my iPhone, but when I import to LR it ends up being 1k or so. Anyone has similar experience? The newest photo in LR is from 2021 so two, three years of photos are somehow not accessible/seen by Lightroom.
Why a cable? I shoot with either of 3 cameras on my iPhone 14pro Max. All are added to the 'Camera Roll' which Lr automatically adds to the Lr ecosystem which is synced to my LrC catalog. No cable needed and all photos populate both Lr and LrC! If I only want the iPhone images in LrC I just Air Drop them to my Mac and use the LrC Import.

But how do you select only photos to import...and not the videos? I don't see any filter options (eg. by date AND type)
Thank you. Going to try this
Thanks for sharing this tips 🙏 would it be them same if you want to export the original file - the RAW file??🤔 🤔
Thanks for this. When you select into subfolder and name it, how do you tell what the parent folder is?
Very helpful! Thank you !

My photos are set up where they automatically go into the cloud and over to Lightroom Desktop. Easy peasy!
Hi gosman. Do you mind to share how you are doing it? Would you kindly make a user guide? Thanks in advance 🙏 Brgds Christian
@@ChristianRouLund thanks for the ask but I am a doer not a teacher. There are plenty of TH-camrs out there that will teach you.

I just simply find the cable faster - particularly when downloading lots of video!
Lightroom just spins and never loads the photos. I think it's because I have too much stuff on my phone...hence the reason for importing.
love how apple will hide this stuff as much as possible, then not clearly tell you how to find and move. Thanks
My computer never asked for trusted computer
