    • @blankpuddle0249
      @blankpuddle0249 4 ปีที่แล้ว +82

      @Ryan Irwin- Diehl monk may not always be the best person, but when you need him, he'll pull through every single time. He saved Natalie's daughter's fish over the 4 million dollar rock, he helps people get through their toughest shit, and even when he isn't being his best, his worst is preparing people for the assholes of the world that always manipulate people or use them. If he was an asshole all the time then yeah this would be sarcasm, but his genuine concern for the well being of others is outstanding. He often fights his fears to save others. He put his hand in the sewage to grab a gun to shoot the guy trying to kill sharona, so my point is still valid. Most people wouldn't face their fear to help save someone, especially not someone they barely know, which monk has done in the past

    This episode really stands out to me. Not just because it's some major character development for Randy, but it does so while still maintaining his overall character. It also demonstrates what the captain says at the end of the episode. Randy truly is a cop at heart. He had a hunch that his uncle had been murdered and he called in an investigation. He often gets underestimated as the buffoon of the department but actually, he fully has his ducks in a row in terms of being a police officer. It's such a well constructed episode.

    From the very moment when Randy saw his Uncle’s truck at the CS, he suspected something wasn’t adding up. Which is why he believed his Uncle’s death was a Homicide, and he was Right to believe that. Thanks to Monk who gave him a push to believe himself as a Cop again. 👮‍♂️ 🔎

    Protip: If a cop is dangling a piece of evidence from a crime you committed in front of your face, and he's saying "I bet your fingerprints are allll over this, huh?" take the opportunity to play dumb and grab it, saying "Oh this piece of evidence? Hmm... (touch touch touch)... no, don't recognize it at all." Then you can say the fingerprints are from that moment rather than from the crime.

    Credit to Randy for picking up on something Monk didn't, the finger print, but Randy shouldn't have held up the one piece of evidence right in front of the killer!
    He should have put it in the bag. He could have said "That's nonsense!" and picked up the keys! x) The evidence would become instantly inadmissible in court.

      You do know that all you have to do in court is convince a jury, right? You don't need hard, airtight proof. If he snatched the keys with 4 witnesses seeing him, that would be more than enough to convince a jury that he did it to get rid of evidence.
