I think Joe must have been a great partner to Monk, he seems very nice and not judgemental to Monk's fearness. I felt bad that nobody believed him that he was innocent and almost had his career ruined but at least he was reinstated.
The way Monk was comfortably going shot-for-shot with Joe and not speaking awkwardly instead was the most relaxed ever (as far as Monk being sober). Tony Shelob is an amazing actor.

It wouldn't be overloaded as they had likely finished the tunnel and/or wouldn't have needed to cart away any more dirt. But the cops would have been plenty close enough to chase. The robbery was actually dependent on driving off quietly. It would take time to follow the tunnel back to the parking spot and then check cameras/witnesses to identify the vehicle. Was jenny a fake identity? because the store employee-of-the-month would have tied the vehicle to her even if everything else had been fraudlent.
Thank god he shot into that parking lot full of people, or else the robbers they knew the identity off would totally have gotten away with the insurance covered money!

I got to meet Enrico Colantoni at a VERONICA MARS cast autograph signing in 2005 and I told him how he was great in this episode. He said he was amazed how many people watch the show!

And if you like medical dramas, he was also in Remedy and in 2020 the pilot of Death's Door (it's not a TV series as it wasn't picked up by a network yet - just the pilot for now, but it's great, if you want to watch it - and they really need more support from the fans)
As cringe as this is this was similar to my employee of the month rewards in retail. Though I did not get a lobster meal. I instead got a $5 gift card to the store.
It would be nice if they uploaded the part of this episode when he clears his ex-partner of tampering evidence. It was really cool watching Monk figure out what happened to the missing cocaine.
Love the way it was a civilian Security Guard and not a cop who backed Monk, and who was also shown as a professional well before he came through in the end. To often in TV/movies Security Guards are portrayed as incompetent, untrained and bumbling know nothings. Years ago, when I first got out of the Marines, I worked as armed security for Wells Fargo. Before being issued a firearm and put on post, I had to I had to graduate the 180 hour OPATA (Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy) course and be certified to not only work security but also to carry a firearm. Glad to see a show that didn't portray Security Guards as useless idiots.
They clipped all of the parts of the crime from this episode. This is basically the whole episode without other storylines and fluff. I'd prefer more TV Shows like this.
I do wish there was also a clip of the other mystery that Monk solved in that episode: clearing his old police partner from an old discharge over missing drugs.
