Meg? Remember the #1 rule of the internet? Especially as a content creator? Never…ever…EVER read the comments. There is a reason why you are a successful Star Wars TH-camr. The vast majority of people LOVE your content. Ignore the noise. Stay true to yourself.
Tbf, I liked the Acolyte. It was better than the last season on the Mandalorian, Boda Fett, Ahsoka. And all of the prequel films/sequal films save for revenge of the Syth
Meg, you are a bright light in the darkness. Even when we disagree on things, or are arguing a bit over things, you've NEVER gotten negative or mean. ❤
@@chazthethug Thirty thousand reacts to positive tweet on last week. Also not to forget that big percentage of fans not using twitter or many other social media platforms ✅ 336mil mins for beautiful S01 Finale. Short math says that three people can't make those numbers. Be well & remember kindness towards all 🤞
Well this is what us fans who never liked the Sequels were, sure there were some nasty, ists and phobes, but the majority of us were just "fair and level headed" and we all got attacked in 2018 and called toxic and sexist. We were just being honest, like many fans have been right now over the Acolyte. Deep down this is all about a "hivemind" where EVERYONE has to all "think" the same, there is no room for *Individual Thought* you have to think the same as the woke demographic. This is what they're all about, you're either with them and for their woke ideology, but if you so much as disagree, even in the slightest, little way, you're immediately their Enemy. This is how the woke mindset works, it is truly a "hivemind".
@@chazthethug Sarcasm quality not the top, but oki i sorta get it 👍 I don't know what that Lesly word means at the end, surely not my name cause ain't one 🤫
😂 you could say the acolyte is the worst, most egregious George hating project lucasfilm has ever done..! Stinky fish taco been sittin out in the sun for 3 days leaves a better taste in your mouth 😂 and it’s still not criticizing the acolyte enough!
Meg, I've followed you since mando and you are a Star Wars fan. I generally only look at 2 or 3 people about Star Wars and you are always one of them.👍thank you.😊
I think they kind of ruined the character of Boba Fett. The part with him learning from the sand ppl was kind of cool but they made him such a "good guy". Not cold enough.
@@savans4734 I think well you can see some genius in BOBF, I had no problem with Fett bonding with the Tusken Clan, all of that was clearly inspired by 2 classic Western movies - "A Man Called Horse" and "Dances With Wolves". It showed Boba Fett finding his *Humanity*. He went from being a cold, killer who will kill anyone for the right price, to becoming something more than that. Where the show screwed up was the Disney bosses demanding it have a more lighter tone, the inclusion of those ridiculous power ranger biker group, who have colorful speeder bikes, that always look shiny, pristine clean, yet they say they don't have any work and are struggling, and living in the city of Mos Espa a sandy, dusty place, just doesn't make sense at all. And things like having Boba Fett chasing a little droid around a kitchen, stuff like that was soo not needed and was clearly forced in their by higher ups; this is why Jon Favreau got so frustrated and actually walked away from the show for a time; then he came back because he was under contract. But it was all the stupid, silly light stuff that was forced upon him, because the stupid Execs thought that could make the popular Fett character appeal to kids to sell toys. ALWAYS thinking of $$$$$ They saw Boba Fett's badassery in that episode of S2 Mandalorian and thought they could use his own spin-off show to sell toys. When they actually missed the whole point of who and what Boba Fett is, he is ruthless and his own story should absolutely be Gritty and Violent. He appealed to kids back in the 70s/80s because he looks so cool and has that whole armanment. But those kids who grew up with him are all now adults like in their 40s/50s. the kids of today don't know who "Boba Fett" is really, especially the ones who have grown up with the sequels; which was why it was dumb trying to kiddyfy Boba Fett. His story absolutely should have been like the Godfather, where he ruthlessly takes out some of the other "Families" of mos espa, exerting his dominance and power as the new "Daimyo". He's like Vitto Corleone in a sense, he's tough and a badass and powerful, but he has benevolence and is fair to the people of Mos Espa and truly wants to help the good people of the city. You can see glimpses of this in the show, in small little parts, like the scenes where they capture the Pikes train, and Boba is sitting on that crate like a boss, giving order and laying out terms to the Pikes gang; he's helping the Tusken Clan, who took him in. You can see where Favreau was originally looking to take the show, but then Kennedy came in, influencing the clueless Disney bosses, to force Favreau to make sure Din & Grogu are reuinited in his BOBF, ready for Season 3 Mando. This took away TWO crucial Episodes of Boba's book, that was needed to help flesh out his story and character arc. Just stupid interference from higher ups, everytime.
@RaikenXion I 1000% agree with ya. The biker gang... jeez. The oddity of the Black Wookie character, they made him look like a complete useless character. They had some true potential to do something gritty and fresh. Give the Galaxy some credibility again, and they "kidify" it.
Your take is always moderate and respectful. It’s amazing how many people are wholly incapable of understanding nuance and can only see black and white. Please just keep doing what you’re doing.
It’s a bummer it was canceled. Anyone saying you had anything to do with it being cancelled is silly. I’d like to see more. The fandom is so divided and mean.
You're great Meg. You're the only creator I've seen that didn't spread hate but supported even though you didn't like the Acolyte. Thank you for not spreading negativity and hate like a big part of the fandom ❤
Those of you who read Darth Plagueis novel know, that Hego Damask / Darth Plagueis was just like Palpatine. Double life, powerful, pulling strings here and there, double crossing people, using them and always getting his ways in the end. That's what mystery story should've been like for The Acolyte.
Meg I have been a faithful subscriber for I think over a year. Your content is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! You are insightful. You are intelligent and you seem very compassionate. PLEASE DO NOT let these people get to you and run you down. YOUR FANS THINK YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!! Naysayer is going to be a naysayer and this welcome mentality America has is going to run you down because you don't necessarily agree with the narrative. You stand strong on what you believe and don't let them try to convince you to change your morality
I do not comment often and not sure if I ever left a comment on one of your vids but feel like I need to on this one :) You rock Meg. You are the only SW youtuber I now watch as you are level headed, positive, never over negative but when negative it IS well disserved. I will watch every SW show/movie to give each a chance but god some of them are bad or have bad parts as that's just how it is. You keep being you Meg (please :)).
Fedaygin. Cancellation of the show seems to indicate it Wasn't a good call. It in fact did happen, as Headland openly admitted that focus on the story and lore was not the priority. Showcasing representation and her own personal experiences was.
Meg, pay no attention to these jerks. Yours is a name well respected among the Fandom, so you're a perfect target! Ignore them. Your videos and comments bear no influence on LucasFilms and Disney. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your videos and comments.
I'm not overly fussed with this cancellation. I think they could have made it better; I did enjoy it, but not enough to miss it much (much the same way I felt about the Obi Wan series). I'm more bummed about not having a second season of Book of Boba Fett.
You are the most reliable source I know about anything Star Wars related! I respect your work and appreciate it. Don’t pay attention to such comments and please keep up posting especially on the Mandalorian and Andor, my favourite shows. I must confess I have never wanted to watch The Acolyte but I’ll give it a try to see if it really was so bad and I’ll come back to report. Until then, May the Force be with you, always!
I came upon your channel a while back and the thing I've always appreciated is that you are always positive in your videos. With so many negative channels out there, it's nice to watch your channel where you give your honest opinion but always frame any criticism in a gentle way. Don't worry about what others say on social media. They're just throwing a temper tantrum and it's best to ignore it.
Actually, I would welcome a second season! Especially if Mae, Osha, and Sol all die in the first episode. The witches and Indara come back to life, and it's focuses on Vernestra Wroh being a badass and Plagueis being a cool villain.
Believe me, there were plenty of such idiots during Acolyte. And I'm talking about both sides. I couldn't be objective because I was called a hater or pro Disney or I was even considered not to be a fan of SW. Anyone who uses such an argument should look in the mirror. Because just because they like something or not doesn't mean I will like it or not. By not being able to use objective arguments and arguing, they show that they are not mature and only discourage other maybe potentially new fans from being part of this fandom. So GJ
I watch and subscribed to your channel because I thoroughly enjoy your focus on Star Wars news and your overall enthusiasm for the universe. You always report on what is going on, and if there’s a lot of criticism of shows like the Acolyte, you report on it. I personally really enjoyed the Acolyte, but i respected your criticisms because they were respectful. There was a lot of vitriol and polemics surrounding this show, but i don’t think you were contributing to that-you were just reporting community news and giving your honest reaction. I thought your criticisms were sincere, and they didn’t try to bring the community into the current culture wars like other channels were doing. I stopped watching other channels, but I’m still with you because i love you and think you’re wonderful. Keep up the great work!
Meg, I discovered your channel during the airing of The Acolyte. I was looking for a moderate and fair opinion that balanced out all the hateful comments out there, not because I enjoyed The Acolyte (which I didn’t), but because I wanted to get a more leveled opinion. I found this in your channel, where you strive to find the positive without shilling, and I commend you for it. Keep doing the good work!
Meg, I think you are one of the most even-handed critics of Star Wars content. You have a right to your opinions, which is why you have YOUR channel. You've hit on ALL of the right reasons the show was cancelled.
@starwarsmeg keep doing what you're doing! My favorite thing about your content is that you always work hard to be kind and respectful to ALL FANS, and even to Disney/Lucusfilm. You're doing a phenomenal job in a very difficult era for Star Wars!
Dear Star Wars Meg, This Acolyte series was different and yet had good potential! It is the decisive man-babies that do not allow anything even close to having any character especially females in particular; to have any solid chance of telling their story with some kind of backlash and hate. Your reviews on the series and episodes were in fact truthful and inspiring. True Star Wars fans know that different stories have to be told to increase the lore and show many aspects of the universe without having the same old stories told. This series needed to be more longer than eight episodes espiecially dealing with the Sith doctrine and it's counterparts. The actors all did a fine job! We the audience needed more backstory on the witches and their practices as well as why they settled on Brendock. The inter-connection between them and the Sith was never mentioned; as well as how the witches were able to create life while dealing with the dark side of the force. This story needed more narration as to why the Jedi were searching on Brendock other than them detecting a virginance in the force. The director had the chance of showing the jedi as a symbol of everything good; and how they dominated this era with their policies and how they were slowly; losing their grip of reality through constant dogma which was quietly being broken down into less than accurate teachings. The prequels do an excellent job of showing the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. We the audience were first introduced to the microbes of midi-chlorians and their symbiotic relationship in seeing how attuned an individual is with the force by having them living inside a body. Anakin in his younger years was brillant, intelligent and self-giving when encountering people from other worlds. His folly in later years was his arrogance because of his powers and effeciency in mastering them. His loyalty to his friends was undeniable and his attachment issues slowly caused him down the dark path until it consumed him into Darth Vader. His treatment from the Jedi Council also did'nt help either when they should have given him some leeway on his relationships with other people. This buildup of hypocrisy only created mistrust on both sides with Palpatine turning the screws in ,the middle. Sith Masters must start from somewhere and show how they trained in order to be so powerful; and worthy of taking on an acolyte. Disney continues to push aside common threads like this to show full-fledged characters whom which the audience cannot identify with because of their limited no information on their backstory. Showing Darth Plagius near the end is eye candy but makes the audience only more hungry for information and wondering did he train Quimir; or is he there to enforce the rule of two? I know this is supposed to be a mystery thriller but Disney keeps putting the cart before the horse and expects the audience to trust them. It's 2024 and yet we the audience still need to able to connect the dots so we can get behind the hero or antoganist and believe that they made the right choice on how they decided to take a particular path that in the end will lead them to redemption. It's like when you have a boss and they expect you to respect them simply because they outrank you; yet they have no experience in solving any problems or can do the work you do even better than you do it. True respect is always earned; not given because of a title. Star Wars Meg, forget the haters and continue to do the excellent job that you always do! This younger generation are always in their feelings and try to shift blame on everyone else instead of taking responsibility for their actions. KK was stealing money from other show's budgets and allocating it to the Acolyte. That's the real reason why Disney is canceling it. Too expensive, bad viewership feedback, and limited character development.
They must be trolling! Your channel is the most even, honest and fair of the bunch. It’s the main reason I’m subscribed. Don’t let them get in your head, Meg. You’re doing incredible work!
What a great news , Disney is not completely gone they actually want to make money , well done Bob now get rid of Kk and I hang up your picture on my wall
KK, LH and many of the actors spent the months before the show came out "crapping" on the base audience and now they blame them for not watching . . . lol. I have to say though, I refuse to accept that that was Plagueis.
Keep up the good work with this channel. I think your coverage of the Acolyte has been fair and honest to what you see. I have mostly agreed with you on this series.
@StarWarsMeg, you do a great job! You provide the facts, theories, and your opinions wonderfully. Haters are always gonna hate. If not you, they'll find someone else to hate. Keep your chin up and keep up the great content!
This was a concept that COULD have worked but failed miserably. All they had to do was put story first, likable characters second, and likable actors third. The Acolyte failed on all three aspects of that formula. Replace Osha, Mae, and Darth Gimpy Zippermask with a GOOD story about Tenebrous recruiting Plaguis. Use Jedis Trinity, Kelenneca and Dafne Keen properly, and not humiliate Jedi Sol. Disney and Marvel have always been able to work in messaging and inclusion as long as it is carried by a GOOD story, likable actors, and likable characters. Again, Kathleen Kennedy, Pablo Hidalgo and Leslye Headlund failed a can’t miss formula. How Kennedy and Pablo Hidalgo get to keep their jobs is beyond me. Especially after the hotel disaster.
Blaming Meg is so dumb, Disney doesn't listen to the millions and millions of fans who criticize modern Star Wars, but I'm expected to believe a small youtuber got Disney to cancel the show?
Well here's the thing Starwars Meg is but ONE out of a few they are blaming, if you really look at the overall climate right now they're heavily going after Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic also. Meg is just falling into it, because those wokesters their whole attitude is - "you're either with us, or you're our enemy". There's simply not middle-ground with them, you can't debate, you can't reason with those people at all. And because Meg was just fair and HONEST they're attacking her. The woke people are looney, EVERYTHING has to be their way, or they blow a hissy fit. This is why Disney themselves are going to learn the hard way, they truly are. Because bts for a few years now they've been pandering to the woke side, but the numbers prove good and well that they only account for a very small number of them. If they were big in percentage the Acolyte simply would'nt have such low viewing figures, it ranked as the lowest audience rating out of all the D+ shows. Disney clearly saw this when they got their bar charts and graphs out, they realized this Fact and thats why they were not confident to greenlight a 2nd season. Also this is another notch on KK's FAILURE Resume, so it's really not looking good for her either right now and her contract is coming up to it's end date too now.
Hey Meg! (Kool & the Gang's "Celebration" playing in the background.🎉🎇💥🎉🎇💥) People criticizing you fair and balanced, but honest assessments is just a lot of sour grapes. Now, if anyone wants to blame me? Yes!...please and thank you!❤
Those who cried for representation never bothered to show up. Meaning this was never about Star Wars to them. It was about taking something and making it "theirs".
@@biglove9374 I'm all for representation. The way the showrunner and lead actress approached it was from a very toxic activist approach that IMO has no business being in Hollywood. They are there to simply gain clout and make every project their platform to build and amass more and more to their drama. GTFO of SW if that's your goal IMO. Let's instead make it entertaining and yes inclusive...but not lose focus of what the FANS want. Not a small group of very vocal minorities.
Fully agree with you Meg, your content for Star Wars is brilliant, I really want Star Wars to succeed and criticism is good otherwise Star Wars wouldn't have a massive following, Lucasfilm really need to keep their core fan base happy otherwise Star Wars will be finished
I've been popping by for years, rarely post, and I've got to say you've always been a beacon of joy in all things Star Wars. Even things I don't like that you do gives me happiness to know that at least someone else is getting enjoyment from it (The prequels anyone?). Don't let these brats try to knock you. You've always been hopeful when there is hope to be had. I've not followed your Acolyte stuff because, well everything after Obi-Wan for me didn't seem worth it but it certainly was never, ever you and I hope you keep that momentum of being the fan you are going forward. Until the next time; may the Force be with you.
Your critique of this show was some of the most level headed. You gave it a chance when others had written it off before it was released. If you aren’t vibing with the show, it would be dishonest to praise it. Your honesty and point of view is what keeps me coming back to your channel. It is also what has made me go back and rewatch something because maybe I didn’t quite get where they were going. Friends who typically love all things Star Wars really disliked this show. Other friends got to the second episode and just abandoned it. They were absolutely bored. TH-camrs and critics can roast or even praise a show but the viewers will always have the final say. If the show is intriguing, they will stick with it. If the show is bad, they will walk away. The stats show that people gave it a try and then decided it wasn’t worth their time. That speaks to the quality of the show or its ability to resonate with audiences. No TH-camr or critic is the cause of that.
hello, I am a French fan and I have now subscribed to your page since June, I personally find that you do an excellent job, thanks to your work I have access to all the necessary information on Star Wars in advance and I find this very pleasant. I don't understand why we are attacking you in relation to the acolyte, I personally liked the series and I found the analysis of the episodes that you offered us very professional, analyzes and well argued that it either on the positive and negative points that you found there. In the end, you were honest while remaining professional, a quality that is not found in all TH-cam critics, whether in my country in France or in other countries. I thank you for your work and I continue to follow your next videos with great interest. For the fans who criticize you unfairly, they don't understand that Disney is a company and to remain polite they don't care about positive or negative opinions Linked to their projects. The Disney film industry works in a very simple way: - a profitable project continues. - an unprofitable project is stopped. it’s an industry only profitability counts in their eyes. so dear friends of the fanbase, do not attack this TH-cam channel because it had no impact on Disney's decision. PS: I'm sorry for my English, I have an average level and I don't speak it fluently.
people who blame you are fake fans and like SWT and Scoundrel's Cantina. Meg, you were the first star wars youtuber I followed and I love your work. You are a true star wars fan at heart
What does SWT have to do with this? Last I checked he didn’t like the show either so it doesn’t make sense that his fans to be mad at Meg, the people mad at her clearly enjoyed the show
Thanks for covering the Star Wars News, I subbed because of the Star Wars coverage around, yours seems the most balanced and even handed. I'm sorry there isn't going to be a second series as I really wanted to see the payoff, and I think 'fans' need to revisit the star wars content outside of the original trilogy in the 70s and 80s, and enjoy what they like and pass on the rest.
I'm sad it was canceled (I thought it was flawed, but interesting). But you absolutely didn't have anything to do with its downfall. Other youtubers who actively hated it and spread that hate are far more likely to be responsible. I think your response towards the Acolyte was reasonable. But the rampant hate, gatekeeping, and hypocritical blaming in this community makes me so disappointed with the star wars community in general. Why the **** can't people like what they want to like? Critique=fine. Gatekeeper & Hate = not fine. Thankfully, some places of civility still remain (here, and GenerationTech, to name a few).
You don’t think people can hate shows ? Why is that ? I agree with not hating the people who create these shows and gate keeping is interesting I think it can have its place but not in this situation so we agree there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you liking it people aren’t always going to agree and some people hold this franchise dear to them so it is personal which led to the loyalty to this brand in the first place but that will build hate and resentment which I think can be a valid reaction to art it’s doesn’t have to be a perfect constrained emotional response. The same way people will like up in droves days before the movie release on a IP there was also room for much hate. I think we get into issues on both sides of the convo when people try to dictate how people should react to something that is so subjective (I’m not saying your doing that)
I mean, I totally get what you mean, I try not to hang around negative channels for the sake of negativity, but it is totally cool to have respectful strong negative emotions towards a show. Those who were strongly opposed to the show wasn't the problem at all. What was, was the poor writing that ultimately did not get people interested and leading to a loss in viewership, which was unacceptable for a 180 mil show.
MEG has Unlimited Power! Leave Meg alone. Lol who’s to blame next? Me? You? It just fell flat. I love Star Wars. Any and all. But the writ was flat. The story has promise.
🎉 Woooo Hoo!!🎉 You are Far too kind, and I must say that person who said she's canceling her subscription was Insane Period! You maintained a positive outlook FAR more than it deserved! I couldn't even finish watching some so much so! That show got itself canceled period. I'll stop there to keep the darkside at bay. You don't need Any validation about how accommodating or open minded you were ❤
It was wierd watching a show when they literally killed the entire cast in one season, and the director had no regard for lore or what should be expected of her as a director of a star wars series. It's was heart wrenching bad
I gained new admiration for your unbiased reporting. You gave an honest report every week! It's a shame some people liked the show and it was cancelled, however blaming other people for that is so immature. Keep on rocking!
These responses do shine a light on one important detail: that of WHICH Star Wars "fans" are the toxic ones. Disney is quick to label those who don't like their products as "toxic" rather than taking responsibility for what they release, but whose minions are really doing the bullying. Not surprising. If the show was so great, ALL those fans ought to have watched it more times and bought more merch, shouldn't they. So, really it's THEIR fault, isn't it.
I don't think anyone sensible blames you at all. I like your positivity, even for the things I'm not overly impressed by. Keep doing it exactly as you are.
Meg you are truly a bright light in the darkness of this fandom and one of the only Star Wars sites on YT that I watch. I don’t comment because this fandom has become so toxic but I had to let you know I appreciate you and hope you continue doing what you’re doing. ❤
That's terrible that people blamed you. You are the best with everything you do. I love your content. Please keep doing what you do. The show got cancelled because it didn't do well. Not your fault. I would of been surprised if it did get another season because how it performed. You always look at the positives and you give us real news. Some out there are fake news. I fallow you because you are the best. Thank you for everything you do Meg. ❤❤❤
First and foremost, you have my RESPECT. Secondly your video response to this is bang on. I liked the show and would like to see more but my voice is not going to change anything at Lucasfilm. I said on X the other day, two words decided this. Bob. Iger. and I stick by them. He saw the budget 180M and the output (not 180M) bu-bye in a nutshell. Great to see your take as always. Keep being you.
I am glad and relieved that it got cancelled (and I did watch it all the way through). But Meg, you are always positive and wonderful. Don't let these attacks get you down.
You are one of the most respectful, fair, balanced, and positive Star Wars youtubers I know of. In my opinion, some go too far in the criticism and others don't have enough, but you are always fair and honest about how you feel but you always keep it positive and nice to watch. So thanks, and don't listen to people who say things that aren't accurate. Now as for the Acolyte, it was definitely not my favorite show. It had a lot of problems, but I was able to get past some of those things by reminding myself the story wasn't finished. So even though it wasn't the best show, I kind of feel like its a worse story now since it left off with unfinished threads and things that won't get resolved now. I think there were issues that could have been fixed in a second season but that won't now. Idk if that makes sense.
Boooo!!1 I enjoyed it Meg and have watched it a couple times since it ended, the second time through I started with episode 3 then went back and watched the rest in order made a difference in my opinion.
I have always found your videos to be even-handed and objective, even when something isn't to your taste. Another way of looking at the criticism is that it's a good thing -- it means your videos are being seen, leading someone to feel the need to comment. Keep up the good work -- I know I appreciate your videos and use them as a go-to source for Star Wars news!
Meg, don't even pay any attention to those comments. I watch a LOT of Star Wars critics, and YOU are the absolute most balanced and fair channel in the entire Star Wars youtube world. Keep doing what you're doing. You are super fair and thoughtful and make great points. Your enthusiasm for the universe is palpable, and I appreciate your viewpoints very much!!!! Please keep up the great work!!!
Thank You Meg.... I think your reviews are spot on. Yes you did let us know you were not the bigest fan of this, but you did not bash. I get tired of the bashing that most of the Star Wars content creators do. I get it, it wasn't that good, but a lot of shows start out mediocre and get better in later seasons because the people and writers of show learn what it takes.
Meg You are the NICEST person about ACOLYTE. TOO KIND. I really felt weary of the woke agenda coming from KK and CANCELLED my sub with DIZ+ and told them WHY!! You were not involved WHATSOEVER. However there are some other some reviewers out there who DID NOT hold back with their criticisms---and were funnier than heck. JUST KNOW blamers gonna blame. YOU ARE INNOCENT IN THIS CHARGE. Be not moved. May the force be with you ALWAYS.
It’s not your fault, but it’s partially your fault. Unique twist on classic star wars. Very nuanced expression of details not discussed in past films (force plagueis, darth plagueis in general, nightsisters, politics of the Jedi order). Powerful foreshadowing and full of surprises. The timeline allowed disney great originality in the storyline, and allowed them to work in these details that have been absent throughout the series. Certain things were rushed and didn’t make the most sense, but the Acolyte possessed many shocking and unexpected deaths and plot twists. It is a shame that there won’t be another season. I detested the three “Disney Wars” disasters (7,8,9,) that were so far out of touch of cannon. Really disappointing that I come across this show after the decision was made to cancel it. I wanted to add some things that I saw in someone’s post… Night sisters did not use DARK MAGIC, it was expressed that they learned to manipulate their force in their own way, not only jedis are capable of manipulating the force…. Wookie Jedi: Was not killed off after five minutes of screentime…. you must have stopped watching the show too early buddy, it’s clear you did not finish the series. He was incredibly powerful with his own unique fighting style. You saw him in many scenes, and he fought viciously. You saw that much later in the show though, after he had been executed by a sith lord that single handedly murdered 5-7 jedi. Sith: Maul was NOT the only Sith in “modern times.” you are interjecting your own timeline. Bane’s order had a large number of sith until the reformation, and CLEARLY, this timeline allows for some manipulation of other characters. You literally see Plagueis on Kimir’s planet hiding out. In this storyline, Kimir would turn out to be a failed apprentice of Plagueis, before Plagueis took on Palpatine as his apprentice. Plagueis could literally manipulate life, he was around a long time, and had plenty of time to train other apprentices between his becoming a sith and later being killed by Palpatine. Osha turning herself in: makes total sense why she did this. She wanted to be a Jedi, had full respect for the jedi, and trusted their judgement. She admired them. and her turning later on makes sense as well. Jedi as “bad guys”: what a narrow minded opinion. The Jedi practically kidnapped children from all over the Galaxy. They established order, but they were also a major political force. They were definitely an “ends justify the means” type of order. This show displays the intricate politics within the order that you saw leading up to the clone wars. Yoda himself was overly political and admits that he is at fault for the rise of Vader and the fall of the order. The Jedi were overwhelmingly “good,” but they pissed a lot of people off by kidnapping their children, invading planets, and exerting their will in the name of goodness and the force, this show did a great job of showing the messy side of political jedi-ing. Particularly at the end, when Vernestra using Sol as a humiliating scapegoat to protect the Jedi order from political investigation, literally trashes her best friend through the mud, ruins his legacy and name, all for the sake of the greater good of the order.
I shared all of your issues and concerns and won't miss Acolyte; that said you don't deserve "blame." You covered this fairly and honestly and rather gently considering the production values of this series felt more like Star Trek TOS sets than modern Star Wars. Keep doing the voodoo that you do, and bless you for being real.
Great news! I wish the season 1 had never been made, blaming yourself for the cancelation is as ridiculous as The Acolyte itself! The whole point we watch your channel is for the news and your take on the product, which IMO is balanced and from the heart!
Starwars Meg you're a passionate fan, I've always saw it like this the starwars fandom has 3 different types of "Fan", there's you're casuals, then you're superfans who just love everything with the name *Star Wars* on it, where they NEVER criticize anything it's just all great to them. "Starwars Explained" is a superfan/fanboy. And then there's us "Passionate Fans", we have a deep love for Starwars but we're not afraid to criticize, and call out things if we feel it's not of high quality. We truly love and care for the Starwars franchise because we want it to be great. Just ignore those who are lashing out and blaming you, I got into a argument with one Acolyte fan and they said something similar, telling me, thanks to you we have nothing now. So I told them politely don't blame me, or the fans who never watched the Acolyte, or even stopped watching it after 3 episodes. Blame Disney themselves, the Acolyte S2 cancellation proves only one thing, that Disney DO NOT truly care about Starwars! If they did, nor do they care about the Acolyte fans and small audience that watched and liked the show; at end of the day Disney only care about those viewing figures.
You always gave very balanced reviews of "The Acolyte," Meg. I adored "The Acolyte" and am disappointed that we aren't getting a second season, but I always enjoyed your comments. I do hope that the unresolved mysteries of the story will be answered somewhere - in book or comic form perhaps - but the cancellation of the show was hardly your fault! I think any show takes a risk if it doesn't resolve its principal mysteries by the end of the first season.
Other than Sol’s rushed death, I liked the Acolyte and was intrigued by the possibilities of the new Sith duo. I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to see their further adventures. The more Star Wars live action the merrier.
You have my favorite Star Wars channel, and enjoy watching your videos each day! Don't listen to those haters. You are the best and have honest content.
Oh, my Force!!! I loved the Acolyte, but, to be honest, while following the switch it would be cool to watch Mae and Osha grow in their Force abilities, it didn't need a live-action second season. Let's have the story continue in a Tales of the* season or their own comics. Be that what it may, properties on streaming CANNOT be reviewed as if it's still the 20th century.
You gave fair and compassionate reviews! Love your content! It is wise to learn from the mistakes of others. A valuable business lesson we can all learn from The Acolyte Is producing a product that satisfies your audience. Leslie produced a product that was a set up for the next season and makes us feel like we won’t be satisfied for the story. Compared to Andor which satisfied fans and the desire to be satisfied again. It’s like going to a high end restaurant paying full price but only getting appetizers and saying you need another purchase for the rest of the dinner.
I consider myself a long time fan of the Star Wars universe. Are there good stories? Yes. Are there not so good ones? Yes. This was like Halloween 3 Season of the Witch. Where did it fit in? It made sense that it would be canceled. Meg, you have been impartial on the Acolyte and are entitled to an opinion like everyone else. I truly enjoy your media. Keep up the great work! ❤
Dear Meg, you have done a remarkable job, nothing was going to make that show good to everyone, it was everything for some, but very little to most, that's fandom, please continue reporting on Star Wars, your voice is important to me.
Keep doing what you are doing Meg. That show was a C+.....not terrible, but not great either in all honesty. The show had some redeeming qualities (Eps. 6), but also some issues in storytelling or staging. I'm probably one of the few that didn't read or watch any hype or discourse before or during the show. I was excited to see some high republic content....but felt that the show was trying to do too much between storytelling of: (1) crime story, (2) redemption/guilt arc, (3) jedi intrigue, and finally (4) sith or dark-side user content. The title and focus "Acolyte" was buried under all of the back and forth of the aforementioned arcs. Thanks again Meg for providing great content.
You are one of the most positive and supportive creators in the Star Wars community. The challenge is Disney keeps creating divisive content and then lashing out at creators and viewers when there is not a profitable outcome. It makes no sense and is so tiresome. It's turned many of us away from the MCU and Star Wars as brands.
You are one of the most positive Star Wars TH-camrs out there. So when you don't like something I believe you. I was excited for something new in a different time period. I thought it was a poorly executed show with lots of Star Wars nuggets of goodness.
Meg, you were, and always are, fair and honest in all your videos. You are always upfront and upbeat. I agree that it is not your fault. Love your content ❤🤗
Hey there! Coming from hard core SW fan, I enjoy your videos & updates on the daily. Even if I agree w your opinions or not. I loved Kenobi and enjoyed some aspects of Acolyte. Ignore the hate. You do a fantastic job and I appreciate your work.
Meg I'm still with you I want you to know that I wasn't sure about the Acolyte either and I found it confusing as well and I love that your unapologetically yourself and don't listen to these people who blame you for the show's cancelation I love your honesty and truth and that's why I follow you for your truth
I think it was a not so well written show, that had unbelievably" great" pieces. I think with the right direction a second season could have been pulled together to make a really great film. An no I didn't think you were to harsh on the show it's self, but totally agree with your first take on the Eps.1, where as you pointed out the dighlog was not good. The story didn't help, but the light saber was "aughsum ", an will generate yet still a second season in the future, again with the right writer an director. Just a hope...😅😅😅
How do YOU feel about this news? ❤ Have an amazing day my friends!
Absolutely not your fault. It wa sa subpar series, and let's be honest. It won't be missed.
Don’t let the haters get to you, Meg!!!
Ignore these idiots Meg. You're great!
You're a pretty positive you tell the news the updates you don't say nothing bad not sure why people want to do that to you

Meg? Remember the #1 rule of the internet? Especially as a content creator? Never…ever…EVER read the comments. There is a reason why you are a successful Star Wars TH-camr. The vast majority of people LOVE your content. Ignore the noise. Stay true to yourself.
Sometimes bad shows just get cancelled. That’s all.
It wasn't bad. It was just diverse and new. Not saying it was perfect. It wasn't. But it wasn't bad. Lol

Dear STAR WARS Meg, Since you hold so much sway at Disney, can you please have them make Boba Fett 2? 😉
😂
I think they kind of ruined the character of Boba Fett. The part with him learning from the sand ppl was kind of cool but they made him such a "good guy". Not cold enough.
But a good season 2 actually
You really didn't criticise anything like what others did... you were very respectful
So true I had to stop watching others after

It's a shame, as I would have liked to seen the loose ends tied up 😦

You're great Meg. You're the only creator I've seen that didn't spread hate but supported even though you didn't like the Acolyte.
Thank you for not spreading negativity and hate like a big part of the fandom ❤
Those of you who read Darth Plagueis novel know, that Hego Damask / Darth Plagueis was just like Palpatine. Double life, powerful, pulling strings here and there, double crossing people, using them and always getting his ways in the end. That's what mystery story should've been like for The Acolyte.
Exactly. That wall clutching gremlin was proof that he was an afterthought and the sith were never the focus of this series
Meg you’re our hero! If anything you’ve save Disney time and time again! May the force be with you!!
It's easier to blame TH-camrs than simply admit it was a sub-par show with a horrific PR.
Meg, you were one of the most diplomatic Star Wars TH-camrs I saw when you covered the Acolyte.

The Acolyte actually DOES deserve a second season! Call it The Acolyte: Where the hell did $180 million bucks go???
Good question!🤷🏼♀️💰Where?
Nice moncler coat lets start there.
180? More like 280+.
Leslie, her wife and friends made some good money
It's a shame a character like Qimir was wasted on this show. Good character, good actor. Shame
Aim it was great and the show had great actors. Mother Anasaa was brilliant but the pacing was off.
I loved him! The only sadness I feel about the show not getting another season is wondering what his story would have been?
Dear Star Wars Meg,
This Acolyte series was different and yet had good potential!
This cancellation is logical. No views, bad developments, a bad scenario… no success. Logical.

Disney must really be broke. A couple of years ago KK would have demanded a second season no matter what just to stick it to the “toxic fans”.
I'm disappointed because I enjoyed the show for what it was. I still hope that they find a way to finish the story of Qimir and Plagueis...
@StarWarsMeg, you do a great job! You provide the facts, theories, and your opinions wonderfully. Haters are always gonna hate. If not you, they'll find someone else to hate. Keep your chin up and keep up the great content!
I appreciated your Acolyte coverage. It felt unbiased, even if you didn't like it. Your coverage is standardly professional. You're genuine.
Star wars should ve for everyone and have representation of everyone i dont think that is the problem of this show
@@biglove9374 I'm all for representation.

Don't give the trolls a platform...
Admit it Meg, it was the power of one, the power of two, the power of UTINNIII

In the end, you were honest while remaining professional, a quality that is not found in all TH-cam critics, whether in my country in France or in other countries. I thank you for your work and I continue to follow your next videos with great interest.
For the fans who criticize you unfairly, they don't understand that Disney is a company and to remain polite they don't care about positive or negative opinions Linked to their projects.

PS: I'm sorry for my English, I have an average level and I don't speak it fluently.
people who blame you are fake fans and like SWT and Scoundrel's Cantina.
Meg, you were the first star wars youtuber I followed and I love your work. You are a true star wars fan at heart
but SWT and Scoundrel have both also shit on the show....
What does SWT have to do with this? Last I checked he didn’t like the show either so it doesn’t make sense that his fans to be mad at Meg, the people mad at her clearly enjoyed the show
SWT a shill? They guy is Lucasfilm's biggest enemy, I don't think u know what shill means
@@BallPlayer17127 Thats what im saying, like this comment makes no sense and randomly just attacks another youtuber for literally false reasons.
Critique=fine. Gatekeeper & Hate = not fine.
It’s KK and LH’s fault - they made the show and the show wasn’t successful.
I only watched one episode twice and that was because I received a phone call in the midst.....
I don't think anyone sensible blames you at all. I like your positivity, even for the things I'm not overly impressed by. Keep doing it exactly as you are.
We need new animated series like Luke (Rebels two) series.
Nah enough Animated content out there. Live Act adaptations from High Republic events like Hyperspace incident & more ✅
Meg you are truly a bright light in the darkness of this fandom and one of the only Star Wars sites on YT that I watch. I don’t comment because this fandom has become so toxic but I had to let you know I appreciate you and hope you continue doing what you’re doing. ❤
Thank goodness! The show was so cringey and turned the Jedi into the villains. Please remove that trash from D+
I agree that there should be more positivity in the fandom, but you are not at fault and you were just giving your opinions...
Just keep doing what you’re doing, Meg. You’re one of the few SW channels I come back to throughout the week because you’re generally level headed.
I wanted to add some things that I saw in someone’s post…
Night sisters did not use DARK MAGIC, it was expressed that they learned to manipulate their force in their own way, not only jedis are capable of manipulating the force….
I think your work is great, sometimes our opinions differ but that’s just normal. TH-cam needs Star Wars Meg. Keep up the good work.
A valuable business lesson we can all learn from The Acolyte
Is producing a product that satisfies your audience.
Meg! Thank you. You are honest. Please do go on with your work! Star Wars... Always!
