Both car and driver are in perfect harmony. Fast, smooth and with precision-that's how you drive.Really enjoying these N/A screamers. Thanks for sharing this pocket rocket.
Current WRC cars have about the same displacement as this car yet make over twice the power and at much lower RPM. For a race car, this means your durability and therefore your chances of finishing the race go way up. A rally car must drive 1000km in 4 days, much of it at race pace, without needing a rebuild. I'll guarantee this NA engine spinning at those ridiculous revs gets rebuilt after driving a tenth of the distance. For a given power output, forced induction will always be more efficient. They also require less violent valve events, which means less chance of valve float. For a given output, a forced induction engine will have a lower BSFC/higher VE. They will turn slower, meaning a shorter rod can be used without exceeding maximum piston velocity, which in turn means pistons can be more favorably designed to minimize skirt slap and the associated losses both in power and longevity. The list could go on for hours. Forced induction is objectively better in every way except "sounds cool".
gasfiltered I cant agree more, i think my comment might get a bit misunderstood. I was wondering why automakers and buyers in general would prefer the bulky and heavy hot hatches of today when they used to be a lot lighter and more enjoyable imo.
I saw on a few weeks ago and to be honest I had forgotten just how nice they were. It looked small but perfectly formed. The design looks " tight" with no un essential bloating or styling just for styles sake. The idea of running one with modern 2.0 tfsi engine, six speed and matching suspension is extremely appealing!
Why would anyone dislike a video like this? What does it present that would be considered even remotely negative? Even if you don't like cars? Some humans are just broken.
Awesome! Back in high school(late 80s) I had a 1980 1.6 4-speed and could bury the tach past 7k rpms. Always felt there was serious potential for that engine.
always loved the goofy look of the mk1 scirocco. i owned one for many years. id really like to see the full specs on that 1.6, sounds amazing, and really moves the car well
Could we have sum specs on the engine builds and some picture of the engines, they are really interesting, bike engine heads, on vw blocks, or bike engines
I believethat it can rev higher than normal is because of the size of the engine . It’s easier to move something smaller than something bigger . Also upgraded internals so it withstands the explosions and probably upgraded valves
Dont tell me anything that would put you at a disadvantage in the future. But, who built the trans? What are the final and accompanying ratios? As well as tire size? Who are you using for ecu? (Definitely left CIS in the trash) also wondering how much your cage cost and where/who to patronize for one.
Maybe it was an aftermarket item? I remember having a set of what I thought were all 1 piece Euro spec glass headlights like these back in '81 pin.it/4VwOkhb
Nah, probably a 16v ABF head on a 1600 block. Balanced, blueprinted with compression around 14:1 and cam duration in the 320 range....and let’s not forget, massive ITBs or carbs 🤠
@@movinmetal2596 Exactly what I was thinking. Wish we got the ABF here in the states. I owned a built internals n.a. 9A 2.0l and it revved to 8,700 or so no problem with no worries. Always wanted an ITB setup, and I was really contemplating just taking the plunge on the TWM induction ITB's and megasquirt. Probably would've gone ahead and did this, but someone ended up giving me a pile of money for the drivetrain so I let it go.
I really hope the people realise that it’s only the shell that actually looks like the car. Everything else is pure race car. Kind of similar to group b but even more modified.
the bodykit is fantastic
Quite unique too, since then we never saw another Scirocco with it...

Absolute balls out all the way through. I've sweaty palms just watching that.
Such a well put together machine.. sound and looks beautiful. Looks like it’s glued to the road!
Long live high revving NA motors!
Actually they do tend to outlast comparable boosted combos
Long live high reving turbo motors
Is it under geared perhaps?
@@rustedratchetgarage6788
Making similar power? No, they don't.
@@SoI_Badguy yeah not even close
this makes life better. definitely essential
i had one of these fine MK1 machines, back in the 90is, what a fun it was :)
I love everything about this car. 👌 My dad has a sciroccco 1 in his garage, he wants to sell it, I want to tune it. 😅
Lol buy it
They're useless mate. I can help him get rid of it, no charge ;)
Show him this video! Tell him we have some work to do
@@martijn86 haha, sneaky
Tuner’s wet dream. They’re going up in price too. Keep it or you and your dad are going to regret it.
Love it, love it, love it! Such a fantastic great car. That body kit is great!
Great vlog, thanks for sharing!
Absolutely gorgeous. And that sound is fantastic. 💯
Looks and sounds incredible!!
The engine sound is sick.
Greetings from Brazil.
I genuinely don’t understand why most people prefer turbocharged cars that weight almost 2 tonnes rather than those high revving nimble beasts.
There are very light cars that are turbocharged, but i like N/A engines better than turbo, like this one 👌
drive one THEN You'll know why 😁

To ways to go fast more hp or rev pick

My old Scirocco had half the power and twice the weight. I still love that car to this very day.
Unbelievable song, love it.

Id take a built NA engine over a built tfsi any day, and i have both.
That's a mean little machine!!!

Either way. Rpm/ engine. Don't care. This thing moves and has a thinking driver behind the wheel. I'm sure the driver is has more than the car.

what camshaft do you use? 20v golf motor? here in Brazil the class takes a course in these engines kkk
Course de côte ou l'ont entend le bruit du moteur qui vous remue les tripes , j'adore , bonne vidéo.
Like a Super Vee engine in there?
watching this thing scream at 10K RPM for 3 mins only dipping to 8K for like 4 sec for corners and downshifting HOLY BALLS

Hatte nicht später Canio Marchione den Scirocco? Erst 1,6l und dann 2l.
