Looks good. Concrete came out nice. I've done two of these garages 24 by 24. I like to put the exterior siding windows and soffit on before raising the walls. I even painted one before raising the walls. Fun.

I like the idea of using the blocks . Keeps the wooden walls away from the ground . This way you can back fill a bit and slop the ground away from the wall . Kind of hard to do that with a slab unless the slab is really high .

my friend very good video. It is a pity that this construction process is not used in Mexico since it seems very efficient and fast. but leaning on your videos I plan to try to do some small construction only that in Mexico there is not much information on the materials to use thank you very much for all the knowledge you transmit in your videos

I am glad to see you used concrete blocks rather than cement. As cement is only a powder it has no structural properties and would wash away with the first rain and provide no stability to the framing.

If you scoop up the mortar and smack your spreader on something it will compact your mortar and then you can tip your spreader sideways and the mortar won't fall off.

Hi Ken, I was wondering how you mitigate for frost heave with the slab on grade? Was that countered with the gravel for drainage/low water retention, and the fact that the garage is located at the highest point on the property, being the best drained point on the property?
I am in the design process for my own garage, and this issue keeps coming up in design guideline elements. I am also in a similar climate zone to Vermont, in both frost depth and snow load.
Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks!

Thank' a lot for your really well made videos, i'm currently starting my 24x30 and will be doing a blocs wall too. I would like to know.. do you fill the blocs with concrete or mortar or leave them empty? I was thinking putting 16'' threaded rod through the hole in the slab, drilling the bottom plate of my walls then bolt them down, would this be good?
    Thanks a lot
