I always like seeing these quality old toys restored. They were built to last not like the plastic trucks today. It looks like you may need a different media for blaster to more efficiently clean off the paint and rust. But good result from such a rusty beginning.

Kind of looks like either the drive wheels were put on backwards when new or at some point were changed. Just a thought. Great restoration!!

You might like to look at Rust-Oleum hammerite paint it fills imperfections and looks nice

Hi couple of tips , get yourself a air regulator for the gun this way you can get a even coating plus take the diffuser off ,the powder is going everywhere but what your trying to coat one more tip get some better wet and dry sandpaper cheers
