I was having fun the first day when there were barbs everywhere in duos, so I could parry with longsword at least. Then it turned into double ranger every fight, and became the most boring gameplay for a longsword fighter ever. Hold the door, go for crossbows. If you hit a headshot disarm 1 of the 5 traps on the door. Repeat until they run out of arrows, traps, or they die from crossbow. Because otherwise your going to die to double ranger trying to push.
Yeah same, except i use the longbow cause im bad and dont want to reload after every missed shot, lol. The parrying barb can be kinda fun, but the encounter is SOOO heavily in their favor its insane. Because if they close the distance (which they will because of Rage) Then you either parry, get lucky and they miss somehow, or you die in one hit, if you dont then same thing with the second swing. you cant outdamage them in time, you basically cannot run away. only other thing is bowing from a distance if the location allows it, but thats not always an option. Cancer meta, cancer patch. sdf needs to rethink his "vision" or hes gonna kill the game
tbh, i dont agree with gear squish. I think it was in a decent place and we had brackets to keep that sane. It's not always fair, in fact it usually isn't, but thats the point. Ironmace can make those fights more winnable not by tweaking numbers, but by changing fight mechanics to ACTUALLY be more skill expressive. Get rid of the movement speed stat and add a dodge mechanic for agility to tie into, who the hell knows? Maybe more parry options. Maybe fix shields so they actually work more than half the time. but when you squish gear, you don't get that dopamine hit after a win when you're looting. You don't feel good as you make a build. Squishing stats is a concession derived from a lack of imagination. And there's more ways to make gear feel good, it doesn't always have to be offense offense offense. Who the hell said PDR needed to be nerfed? Folks keep treating it like its the 95% PDR days and it isn't. Buff it. Not for fighters, for everyone. Make fights last so that plays can actually happen. I mean damn, there's so many possibilities and when you squish gear, you lose all of them. Just don't get it.
Play high roller. The item achieved metric makes me get dopamine from purples and legendaries, and fights feel great right now tbh. They need to increase the impact of the random modifiers on higher tier gear and I think the game will be in a super good spot

I enjoy the pvp aspect of the game, pve and looting isn’t the most fun aspect of the game by any means. Killing bosses for uniques and shit yeah but that’s because it’s challenging. But pvp where both teams are equally kitted or around the same are the most fun there’s actually risk involved. But as you put it “weak” players who quit because they get stomped by bised out players is just another player not playing the game. The game feels fine and wearing kits still makes you significantly stronger than base kit. It’s just way more balance now that it has been almost ever. My base kit slayer has 11% phys power bonus my arena kit is 30% lol.

If they were really dead set on this course of action, then why the heck did they not just wait and release all the changes at the same time, because what we have right now is unplayably bad... it just isn't fun, and there's no point in playing either. I mostly play in sub-25 or 25-124 lobbies anyway, so it's not like I was running around with crazy gear, liking to shit on low geared players, I just want looting to matter, and I want more time to do one of the most exciting things in the game: PvP! Lowering TTK means that I get less time to engage in PvP, which means less time having fun. If they truly have a set of changes in the works to completely revamp how gear and weapons works, then they need to revert this patch, explain their proposed changes, then release the gear/weapon changes with the next season, and only after they have completed everything they have planned for gear, because how gear works right now just kills the game. It kills any incentive I have to do any looting, and it kills PvP because everyone is 1 tapping each other in squire gear.
Part of why they did this was to try to help out the casual playerbase more, right? in order to help them catch up in terms of gear quicker and be able to compete easier, right? well, im that exact demographic of player that they are targeting who is relatively new and doesnt play that often. i took a break from the game planning to come back at some point in the near future, but now even i dont have a reason to come back. what theyre doing doesnt even help me feel more comfortable with the game either, even in theory. a big part of the fun in this type of game is advancing up the ladder of gear, growing your wealth, and taking on more and more risk over time. they removed a big part of that feeling of advancement so why would i even bother returning to the game at all? i basically already have all the advancement i need and theres no more fun to be had in that aspect so i should just play different game instead of wasting my time with this one. obviously theres more to the game than just that, but without that aspect of advancement, the rest of the game becomes too stale, too quick, too easily imo. and this is coming from someone who loves the pvp and decision making that emerges with the way this game plays.... even if they have a follow-up to this that ends up making sense, i have absolutely no faith in their ability to pull it off in a better way than how it was previously, even many many many patches down the line. there were definitely at least a few ways they could have continued making the balance better without this new paradigm shift theyre planning to go down, but i guess it was too hard for them to wrap their minds around in the previous state. even with my small amount of playtime, i often find myself being much more knowledgeable about the balance of the game than the devs who too often clearly miss the mark constantly in balance patches by meandering from 1 extreme to another or making slight changes to things that are mostly irrelevant when theres a clearly much more urgent issue to worry about nearby (or just blatantly balancing in the completely wrong direction). knowing this, even if they really do succeed at making a sufficiently satisfying system for the balance of gear with this new plan for gear, i dont think they will be any better at balancing the classes than they were before, and ironically, i think its very possible that it may actually end up becoming harder to balance. so my prediction is that the game becomes both less engaging to play AND less balanced, accomplishing nothing that they seemingly set out to do in the first place. and so seeing this, i just cant help but continue to lose interest in the game that once caught my attention and admiration. its fun to watch the trainwreck from the sidelines though i guess so im still keeping up with it lmao

That being said they should in no way be invincible, if we fleshed out the skill expression in the game and added more ways to express skill that would probably be a better way to close the gear diff instead of killing gear.

As far as gear squish goes, I feel they already did that with the last patch massively boosting gear availability. With high tier gear available more commonly and quests handing them out it was very inexpensive to get a kit of no-roll epics and even legendaries. You had available the stats the current commons do for not too much, but at least not free. Now they've brought the gear floor all the way up to that no roll epic level to the point that there's no space to satisfactorily improve.
It always felt like long sword was one shot. So you're dealing with what we have been dealing with his whole time. Atleast hr doesn't need a gear score.
Man I would disagree with you about fights getting less fun. You gotta admit the faster TTK the less scoobydo in an average fight, and I could imagine nothing worse than scoobydoo pvp (running, resetting on meds, dooring, kiting and shit, etc).
Gear rarities increase the cap of modifier rolls, i.e. Rare chest can roll 8 max health, epic can roll 10 and legendary can roll 12. Revert the health nerf. Make gear that only gives armor/MR scale or make it all old legendary values. Remove true damage and make penetration a flat reduction instead of a modifier (makes you choose between building against DR or building damage). Then gear will be better than it ever was
I feel like it's not all bad. I think this is the right direction with the gear squish but why they nerfed all HP is beyond me. We know SDF likes a fast TTK and Mr. Choi favors a longer TTK. Looks like SDF is getting his way right now. I love how strong we feel vs PVE. I don't want that aspect to change at all. I also like the HR change, I will actually go in there now that I don't have to reach a min gear score. I think the devs have a bad habit of changing to much at once. They should have just done the gear squish and nothing else. Why they buffed Barb is prob due to the fact that range damage is just busted as hell. Friend asks me as a barb what should I even being doing when we are fighting a ranged team. Does he suicide into the doorway praying they miss? Does he just break LOS in hopes they push but they never will. Does he try to flank and pray they don't actually push while he's clearing mobs? For a long time I have been hating on how many chars have to much range damage. Fighters shouldn't have any range damage other than throwing things or the hand crossbow. Same goes for bards. You want to play with bows and crossbows go play that class end of story.
So you are ok with spending the time to go to inferno kill a boss and getting a lego with worse base stats than common or uncommon? That defeats the entire purpose of rarity the most rare weapons and armor in the game cannot be worse base than common this doesn't work in a looter might as well be a arena game at that point I could live with short ttk ill go die 10x in a row but I have to have a rewardnon the other end of the tunnel and rn it's not rewarding at all and feels awful.

The gem socket cope is so damn funny do these ppl not realize we are going full circle and will end up in the same spot with gear? (Socketing is dumb everyone will get the same stats +hp +true dmg +phys dmg)
They want to steal Dungeonborne Heilroom system ( Basicly Heilrooms are items that can be crafted over and over for few mats where you put the stats you want on them by farming the same few mats ). Which is sad in so many ways.

This patch was so bad I can't even play anymore. When I enter a dungeon my game just stutters every 2 seconds until it crashes. I never crashed before this in my 1900 hrs.
thank god im not the only one dude. in the middle of ice abyss out of nowhere game freezes, opens a window from Unreal Engine saying it crashed bla bla bla. Happened 2 or 3 times and i just gave up. Today already works fine, or at least i can login to see the players count going down without crashing.
Nobody on earth asked for faster time to kill, and no one ever asked for ''1v3'' possibilities. Its dum. Its the worst actual idea for this type of game and Also I really think they shouldnt bring a 3 lvl dungeon. Ruins, cryptes, inferno is TOO long and dying in hell and not achieving anything after 35 minutes in a dungeon feels like crap.
I don't think it should be impossible to 1v3. It should require a lot of kiting and outplay opportunities, but it should be possible. The weird thing to me is that sdf thought it was impossible. It happens all the time already before this garbo patch, lol.
I do like some of the class changes but the gear is awful. I main barb id be fine if they nerf rage and keep 2h the way it is. Barb should hit harder then a fighter but not this hard.
This game is becoming way overtuned just like overwatch. They just keep tweaking and tweaking over and over, and now they've lost what made the game popular in the early versions. Honestly I don't think they can recover it.
I think putting weapons damage at blue/epic was too high. Gear squish is amazing though. I've been wanting this forever!!!! I may actually come back to the game. Obviously this is just a starting point. They should now be easily able to tweak gear gap by changing the base weapon damage!

How to fix pdr is simple , pdr should be absolute units but the problem is having pdr and movement speed to catch people THATS the issue , but yea most classes have some counter to armor as a panther main it a huge game of cat and mouse or my main tool mobolity and just dont fight them and look else where. just how people complain about landmine rogue every class has a tool to deal with it and yet because you CHOOSE not to run it , it rogue and not the shtter This patch is game killing , they want to work toward this "vision" of a game then you cant just hexa buff one class and remove incentives to play. TTK being lower is bad how is 1 shot or be 1shot fun , agreed at this point make this game chivlary/mordhau put respawns in and a kill score , at least gear not matter makes sense and you dont need a load screen but again why would i want to play that when the other 2 games exist

Yea i also didnt understand his take on rangers, i kill PDR fighters with thelorr set skills and never bothered to even think about change it because of enemies armor. Its my playstyle and i like it and wont use crossbows. But yea the rest was on point.
i dont even think last week was that great. its similar to the last time they buffed loot, maybe its not find two purples, three blues and 5 treasures per box but still, when you add so much loot or so much good loot to the game it removes the excitement of finding items in the first place.

This patch is the best for me! I was playing since last season, and it was freaking boring to grind over and over, fighting overgeared people, and losing to them because dudes have legendary kit, not because they were skilled, just braindead left clicking you. Now you can finally do damage as shield fighter, you don’t need to grind hours at dungeons to bring your 10 spell healer cleric at trios, game become so shiny to me. And it’s so cool that my friends returned to the game too, we never had so much fun before.
this is why ironmace shouldnt cater to newer players. It may feel good for you now, but when you really get into the game you'll get bored and you'll see how much the loot matters for the end game. it's so dead without the scaling. no reason to loot, no reason to upgrade kits, no reason to play.

If gear gap isn't real then why are all of you complaining about the changes with gear? The gear shouldn't matter should it? Gear is farmed for so you can become more powerful which gives you an edge over someone who isn't as geared. This cannot be denied. I think the class balancing is the problem.

You do need to loot people; if you take a single hit, you need to use A LOT of meds to heal back to full. So be sure to loot the meds haha

It always felt like long sword was one shot. So you're dealing with what we have been dealing with his whole time. Atleast hr doesn't need a gear score.

Man I would disagree with you about fights getting less fun. You gotta admit the faster TTK the less scoobydo in an average fight, and I could imagine nothing worse than scoobydoo pvp (running, resetting on meds, dooring, kiting and shit, etc).
Gear rarities increase the cap of modifier rolls, i.e. Rare chest can roll 8 max health, epic can roll 10 and legendary can roll 12. Revert the health nerf. Make gear that only gives armor/MR scale or make it all old legendary values. Remove true damage and make penetration a flat reduction instead of a modifier (makes you choose between building against DR or building damage). Then gear will be better than it ever was

I feel like it's not all bad. I think this is the right direction with the gear squish but why they nerfed all HP is beyond me. We know SDF likes a fast TTK and Mr. Choi favors a longer TTK. Looks like SDF is getting his way right now. I love how strong we feel vs PVE. I don't want that aspect to change at all. I also like the HR change, I will actually go in there now that I don't have to reach a min gear score. I think the devs have a bad habit of changing to much at once. They should have just done the gear squish and nothing else. Why they buffed Barb is prob due to the fact that range damage is just busted as hell. Friend asks me as a barb what should I even being doing when we are fighting a ranged team. Does he suicide into the doorway praying they miss? Does he just break LOS in hopes they push but they never will. Does he try to flank and pray they don't actually push while he's clearing mobs? For a long time I have been hating on how many chars have to much range damage. Fighters shouldn't have any range damage other than throwing things or the hand crossbow. Same goes for bards. You want to play with bows and crossbows go play that class end of story.
So you are ok with spending the time to go to inferno kill a boss and getting a lego with worse base stats than common or uncommon? That defeats the entire purpose of rarity the most rare weapons and armor in the game cannot be worse base than common this doesn't work in a looter might as well be a arena game at that point I could live with short ttk ill go die 10x in a row but I have to have a rewardnon the other end of the tunnel and rn it's not rewarding at all and feels awful.
I love the lower ttk and it feels great. Going back to the playtests. 1vX feels good, i can solo into trios like the game is meant to be. I want the game to go back to playtest 3 and its going back there.
The gem socket cope is so damn funny do these ppl not realize we are going full circle and will end up in the same spot with gear? (Socketing is dumb everyone will get the same stats +hp +true dmg +phys dmg)
They want to steal Dungeonborne Heilroom system ( Basicly Heilrooms are items that can be crafted over and over for few mats where you put the stats you want on them by farming the same few mats ). Which is sad in so many ways.
its just frustrating because they REFUSE to fix the fucking speed meta that has been in the game since its start. They would rather fuck over players and completely change gear score instead of just adding ways to catch players

This patch was so bad I can't even play anymore. When I enter a dungeon my game just stutters every 2 seconds until it crashes. I never crashed before this in my 1900 hrs.
I had the same problem. reinstalling my drivers seemed to fix the issue
thank god im not the only one dude. in the middle of ice abyss out of nowhere game freezes, opens a window from Unreal Engine saying it crashed bla bla bla. Happened 2 or 3 times and i just gave up. Today already works fine, or at least i can login to see the players count going down without crashing.

Nobody on earth asked for faster time to kill, and no one ever asked for ''1v3'' possibilities. Its dum. Its the worst actual idea for this type of game and Also I really think they shouldnt bring a 3 lvl dungeon. Ruins, cryptes, inferno is TOO long and dying in hell and not achieving anything after 35 minutes in a dungeon feels like crap.
I don't think it should be impossible to 1v3. It should require a lot of kiting and outplay opportunities, but it should be possible. The weird thing to me is that sdf thought it was impossible. It happens all the time already before this garbo patch, lol.

nah 3 layer dungeons are awesome. ur flat out wrong man. if 35min is too long for you idk what to say it’s not the genre for you.
I do like some of the class changes but the gear is awful. I main barb id be fine if they nerf rage and keep 2h the way it is. Barb should hit harder then a fighter but not this hard.

This game is becoming way overtuned just like overwatch. They just keep tweaking and tweaking over and over, and now they've lost what made the game popular in the early versions. Honestly I don't think they can recover it.

I think putting weapons damage at blue/epic was too high. Gear squish is amazing though. I've been wanting this forever!!!! I may actually come back to the game. Obviously this is just a starting point. They should now be easily able to tweak gear gap by changing the base weapon damage!

Th rage buff was a 50% buff. It went from 10- 15. That’s an increase of 5 on 10. That’s 50%
@@cheeze37 no, you need to understand how increases and decreases are articulated. Yes 5 is 33% of 15. But if you have 10 and you increase it to 15 that is a 50% increase. If you looked at the stock market and you saw a 10$ stock go to 15$ that would be a 50% increase go take a look at the stock market then come back here and admit your wrong.

How to fix pdr is simple , pdr should be absolute units but the problem is having pdr and movement speed to catch people THATS the issue , but yea most classes have some counter to armor
as a panther main it a huge game of cat and mouse or my main tool mobolity and just dont fight them and look else where.
just how people complain about landmine rogue every class has a tool to deal with it and yet because you CHOOSE not to run it , it rogue and not the shtter
This patch is game killing , they want to work toward this "vision" of a game then you cant just hexa buff one class and remove incentives to play. TTK being lower is bad how is 1 shot or be 1shot fun , agreed at this point make this game chivlary/mordhau put respawns in
and a kill score , at least gear not matter makes sense and you dont need a load screen but again why would i want to play that when the other 2 games exist

Besides the Ranger armor pen argument (which is an objectively insanely stupid take, considering what you're essentially saying is "only run crossbows or die to every double digit IQ+ fighter you encounter), you hit the nail in the head.
Yea i also didnt understand his take on rangers, i kill PDR fighters with thelorr set skills and never bothered to even think about change it because of enemies armor. Its my playstyle and i like it and wont use crossbows.
But yea the rest was on point.

i dont even think last week was that great. its similar to the last time they buffed loot, maybe its not find two purples, three blues and 5 treasures per box but still, when you add so much loot or so much good loot to the game it removes the excitement of finding items in the first place.
Based takes. Happy with the gear squish and maybe the slightly increased stats on base gear (less sluggish gameplay in low gear) but definitely agree that they need to increase TTK and bring back some kind of difference between gear tiers
worst hotfix this game had by far even multiclass was compere to this great change (and i hated MC) hope they revert the patch

This patch is the best for me!
I was playing since last season, and it was freaking boring to grind over and over, fighting overgeared people, and losing to them because dudes have legendary kit, not because they were skilled, just braindead left clicking you.
Now you can finally do damage as shield fighter, you don’t need to grind hours at dungeons to bring your 10 spell healer cleric at trios, game become so shiny to me. And it’s so cool that my friends returned to the game too, we never had so much fun before.
this is why ironmace shouldnt cater to newer players. It may feel good for you now, but when you really get into the game you'll get bored and you'll see how much the loot matters for the end game. it's so dead without the scaling. no reason to loot, no reason to upgrade kits, no reason to play.
@@Gausdave213 even my friends was playing DaD from closed alpha test, and now agrees that game become more active, you don't need to waste a lot of time to build your kit, blocking is still one of the hardest mechanics in this game, and by this patch it becomes more rewarding, I played this game before the lawsuits of the developers, finally, the game is developing in the right direction, nevertheless, there is no arguing about tastes. These are my feelings about the development of the game during these two years
If gear gap isn't real then why are all of you complaining about the changes with gear? The gear shouldn't matter should it? Gear is farmed for so you can become more powerful which gives you an edge over someone who isn't as geared. This cannot be denied. I think the class balancing is the problem.
