ain't no way 40% enjoyed multiclass and wanted it to stay. thats the biggest cope i've ever heard. before steam the player count dipped under 500 because of it. multiclass was a circus.
If you mean under 5,000 then you’re spot on. Feels like just yesterday I was playing goblin caves looking at 1.7K in dungeon… crazy to think we’re going back after steam release.
10:43 DUDE I was a destiny 1 extreme fan, and then D2 came out and they wrecked Destiny 1. Dark and darker has been my first glimpse of hope that captured my love for D1, and I really pray they can create a game that lets you do fun bosses with your friends, while scratching that competitive itch. Edit: also if you read this comment, really appreciate and agree with your ideas in this video
the game doesnt feel anything like it did in playtest 3, i remember when everyone was using gathering hall and just casually queing into the crypts and trying to learn how the game works, the dungeon was scary and pvp felt exiting when it happened. now the game is very toxic and no one respects pve or the dungeon, it boils down to spawn rushing and everyone is super toxic have huge pvp egos i just miss the old game also ice caves was a total waste of time, it doesnt fit thematically and gameplay wise, crypts is and will be the best map, the old HR crypts was so peak because it felt amazing to play with the colosseum and all
11:51 the difference between now and multiclassing, I knew multiclassing wasn’t staying and knew it was just me messing around with it before it’s taken away… this is so much worse.
Terrance and SDF wasted first entire year of early access playing back and forth between low and high TTK; the developers never had a clue what to do from the start.
this is probably the best well said commentary ive seen on this patch - its honest and in good faith with love for the game - i hope the devs hear this - amazing amazing work
I think you hit the nail on the head. Also been playing since pt3, and been saying since ea the game will never be balanced until there are fundemental mechanical changes. Feels like every update since multiclass has been mid or bad. I enjoyed the druid uodate, but they pretty much gutted the class with the highest melee expression. Havent really played a wipe in its entirety since before MC, and dont olan on coming back anytime soon.
Join the Bardiche gang, don't do anything just spawn rush everyone with a trail of mob behind you, if you die they die with you. Make no one want to play the game ^_^
Behave anyone with enough time to have spent their life playing a lot of games have enough mouse skills to make ranger extremely oppressive for 90% of the game life
@@henriquerodrigues7795 exactly this ranger does the same damage as bardiche barb's headshot but with two longbow body shots from across the room, but with more armor pen. Complaining about barb when you can easily out-range them as most classes is silly when ranger is going around 2 shotting most people.
Yep im exactly the same as you playing since pt3 and love the game but where is all the content? Over a year and we are still playing the same crypts map with zero new modules, quivers? Zero new mechanics etc. And now endgame content and pvp have been removed, squire kit HR is the new meta like wtf is going on.........
I would like to have solos, duos, and trios be available for all the maps all the time. I would also like the arena/ pvp specific modes to be available all the time. I also believe having more than two skills would make the combat more nuanced
I think the recent patch is actually pretty good, but the problem is there's no sense of progression without the loot being as important, we now have almost no reason to play the game, especially those that have already achieved demigod (one of the most mind meltingly boring grinds ever gameplay wise). I think that once barbarian and ranged damage is nerfed a bit the game will be a fair bit better in terms of balance, but I would really prefer they go along the route that sdf was mentioning of having "counter play" and 1v3 potential. I personally would have rathered that they hold off on the "paradigm shift" until they have the whole thing sorted, not just the first step. That way there's something to work towards even if the game is largely pvp oriented.
You never know, SDF or other actors may have actually taken code/assets from Nexon and never truly had the talent to create unique content or systems. You've mention countless times that this game never grew or had content developments that actually made a difference. Its hard developing a game when you don't have a firm grip on its systems or understanding how to contribute new processes to the combat system. Adding druid took a long time maybe not because it was difficult to execute, rather it was hard to understand its integration to Dark and Darker. Same with simply changing gear values around as a "fix" to new player difficulties, when in reality the devs should have made a tutorial or different modes like PVE only or even solo (offline with loot limitations). Often when a solution is convoluted, you need to look at what should have been done, and why it wasn't. Lastly, I doubt they would revert such massive changes as most devs these days do not care for their customers. They have too much pride to allow the peasants an opinion other than their monetary contribution. They would rather let the game fail, than admit failure. Thanks for the video. ,o7
The way the game is set up right now is. If you're looking for loot, you're doing it wrong.. just play barb, spawn, and rush other spawns looking for players. That's it... That's dark and darker right now.
I dont understand why they added seasons when the game is still in early access and they added huge changes mid season flip flopping multiple times. Seasons and ap grind pushed people to be more competitive which i believe sped up the toxicity. People kept playing grinding ap for the rewards even if they didn't necessarily enjoy the game at the time. The playtests were truly the nost magical thing ive ever experienced in gaming.
i feel all of ur takes to hearth homie so real lets just pray they will fix this fast its literally devasteting to watch the game dying like this with all the things it overcome
I personally like the recent changes but hey to each their own. I’m really commenting and giving you props on quitting your job and actually going for it in making videos. Takes a lot of balls and I can respect that homie
You're on the money, but I've seen that from a mile away and I'm sure others who exploited those systems did too, I bought the game HOPING that they will miraculously get it right but they didn't, even since Playtest 3 peering into the future I asked myself some simple questions, if I'm a Wizard, and he's a Barb, what interaction do we both have with each other besides a movespeed gap? I thought they would have gone with rock paper scissors, to at least simulate engaging gameplay but nope, before you know it, you realize that going naked on rogue to close the movespeed gap with a turbo dagger is meta because movespeed is the ONLY STAT THAT MATTERS (besides weapon damage obviously), don't get me started on Ranger, Buff ball, or whatever other stupid shit the community conjured up. Yes, they are now stuck in a broken gameplay state and it is not their fault, it's their fault for not seeing this toxic whirlwind in the SUPPOSED "PLAYTESTS"... what the fuck... I paid $30 for a valuable lesson; Never support the alleged underdogs financially ever again, I held the line, now I hold my dick.
as you worked in comercial same as me, how often did i hear from one of those meetings " we got a vision " " we got a plan " blabla bullshit. Its very clear for everyone that they dont have a clear vision, patch 68 was peak for dark and darker , and 1 guy managed to destroy the whole purpose of the game.
Glad to see that my opinions weren't unfounded. So, I'm quite new to DaD, but I've developed a specialized skillset for rpg, cooperative, and pvp game design. Particularly focused on balance and game feel. As soon as I got my hands on the game and started experiencing it for myself, it has felt like a bundle of potential that could go in so many different ways that's basically going unused. The gear-scrunching is not the end of the world, but it's basically just a small part of a larger system they planned to have introduced. It's not likely to be reverted, and now that I know what happened with multiclassing, it finally makes sense as to why the devs decided to implement such a large system in a piecemeal manner. I do genuinely think the gear scrunching will be a good thing, but it needs some tweaking. Armor needs the PDR and magic resist of at least blue gear, not white. Windlass needs it's pen knocked down a fair bit. However the actual stats feel... fine. I think they've got that tuned in just fine. The major problem is that modifiers need to still scale with rarity. I'd rather see it so all gear has 2-6 modifiers, but the modifiers will be higher on rarer gear and be more likely to roll a full compliment of modifiers. Something like grey gear could only roll 1 str, but white can roll 1-2, green can roll 2-3, etc. Then that lets socketting, which they did say they'd be adding, be more of a tuning feature that adds fancier effects like fire damage on a sword, meta-magic on spellbooks, passive regen on armors, maybe even proc-chance stuff or conditional modifiers. However they take it, though, they need to push out the rest of the gear changes they had in mind FAST because this shit sucks and might actually kill the game if left to linger.
I’ll probably never give up on this game, Its just been though finding the motivation to play, I still think itonmace can turn it around and make the game really good. And thank you really W comment
It's rly unfortunate because after like the 10th hour playing this game I knew this could be the new game that I'll spend thousands of hrs on just like when I was insanely hooked on csgo. However after 500 or so hrs the most changes I seen from the game were just balance changes, theres so many potential and so many stuff they could add but from the most resent patch, seeing what kind of direction they actually want the game go towards, I believe these will never happen anytime in the near future, it is a shame.
SDF is a big problem person with his vision, his workahollic basically workng 14-18 hours a day, he should basically stay as a programer a coder for dark and darker ''bugier and bugier'', now i start to understand most of nexon argumentation, and the problems that he caused for then, leading to the court cases, i hope everything goes fine and well, but i don't believe it will.
This patch literally destroyed the game weve come to love and enjoy. It shifted it away from the core base to whoever wants it this way, which isnt the core player base, so theyre catering to new players who dont understand the appeal of the game we grew to love.
The changes were shocking , but the one thing I wish they didn’t change was the gear , cuz like you said , there is no point to loot anymore , it has turned into pVP centered , which is not bad but makes everything else on the game obsolete
I'd like a tower style, strictly PvE game mode that I can play with my friends, and not worry about a naked barb one shotting me while running at the speed of light.
I think one of the concepts that could have gone really well for the Game was to not try to create a PvPvE flow as a primary experience, but instead base the Gameplay off of a Campaign mode that is similar to Darkest Dungeon 1, where you'd have to complete an objective in a Dungeon and then extract out of it, the "Hardcore" aspect and inventory/stash management would flow really well with it by having a hub with an outside stash, optionally even having an endless mode or a more "classic" mode with hunger management instead of a straight timer and without a map, and then you can base a PvP mode ontop of that, because outside of the TTK beeing extremily short it is currently actually decent, however thats all you can say about the current gameplay, it feels like the gameplay that we currently have now should have been an addition to something that was already there. But unfortunatly Im afraid we wont get this much expansion on the Games Content, because somebody saying theyre "pursuing their vision for their Game" is effectivly telling that they have no Idea what they want to do, this is especially shown when your Content is effectivly going circles and the most regular updates the Game is receiving is numbers beeing shifted around.
I purchased this game prior to steam but never actually played it until the steam release. I really wanted to share this experience with a group of friends. It felt like it was made for dungeon delving, dnd style, going on an adventure to find rare loot and escaping with the thrill of losing it all. Absolutely perfect. And the mechanics, French kiss, absolutely perfect. 10/10. The looting has the recipe of a perfect gambling addiction element. But lets be honest, we all know why players stopped playing. You have to be a god damn moron to think otherwise. Its the PvP. It takes the fun out of learning/playing this game. Everyone I encouraged to purchase this game have all stopped because of PvP. Theyve all said the same thing. Its too stressful and there's no breathing room to learn the game. Now at first I thought, well you should just practice until you're good enough to PvP, but after playing it daily, I've noticed the most fun I get out of this game is PvE, surviving or dying its the same outcome, thoroughly enjoyable. However, PvP I cant even enjoy winning the fights anymore, there's something unfun about having fun at someone else's expense. It feels immature and just low IQ bully behavior. If I were to suggest a change that would absolutely push this game to the next level it would be. 1) - PvE but with super ramped up enemies. However the items go into a separate PvE only stash 2) - Weekly events. Each Weekend allow a high roller dungeon that has a specific rare item but you only get 1 chance to run it. This would encourage players to gather their team weekly for this 1 run. Start the players in 1 corner place the loot at the opposite end of the map. Preferably on a boss. 100% this would encourage (casual players) to prep their gear for weekend events by grinding during the week. This game has so much potential and is already at an amazing state. But it needs a mix for casuals, dont get me wrong I love competitive games, I enjoy the grind, but I cant convince anyone to play this anymore and this might be the only game to come close to the dungeon delving game we're been pining for our entire lives.
Couldnt agree more they need new content desperately. New weapons and attack patterns are a must. Half the skills in this game are non content because you have to run the best two or three options for your class, thats stupid. You can double the values of some of these abilitys and they would MAYBE get tried. Theyve gotten away with changing numbers and sliders on balance and passing it off as content. We need real new items and ability diversity within the current classes. Cheers good video
No meaningful content (in my opinion) I will say the new crypts bosses are really cool, i absolutely love their designs and mechanics (should’ve mentioned it in the video) but the gameplay loop just isn’t there to make them enjoyable or worth doing (in my opinion)
DnD players are a bunch of divas. I started 6 months ago and could agree that lock is a lil op and druid could use a nerf in instant change, but this is the only thing I can find to complain about. Just completly ruins the game.
I'm being patient with the changes, as a player who got gear checked a lot. But you are the first person who articulated good points about the current state of the game being poor. In discord it's just loads of people who are self-entitled and screaming about uninstalling when i know they haven't really uninstalled, and nobody is having a real articulate discussion about it. I pray the game ends up where you and a lot of us envisioned it ending up. I spoke with the team when they offered me a Mod position, which because of my full time teaching job I didn't take in the end. I remember telling them the same things you are saying. I have been gaming all my life (in my late 30s) and I never found a game that scratched an itch like this one, and tried desperately to get my friends into it but they were hesitant and chose to stay in games like FFXIV and Rust. I hoped in the future when the game was more padded out they would reconsider, but it never happened. Still hopeful for it but not as hopeful as before. I've played one round since the latest patch, as a solo cleric, and got one tapped by a barbarian even through my DP, what was worse was he was rocking common grade items, and he didn't even bother to loot my grimsmiles or my gear....and i thought....'what has happened to this game?'. Apologies for the essay.
Early Access game in the middle of going through devs visions into becoming a final game. And everyone just loses their shit, that just doesnt make sense. The game isnt done yet people calm down
I completely lost all faith in Ironmace when they had the audacity to even try multiclassing. Such an abysmally dumb idea that should have been laughed out of the concept stage yet it somehow made it to live for months. What a fucking joke SDF is as a lead dev DaD should have been incredible, yet here we are
I so with they would focus on putting out a pve raid type mode. Give players more ways to earn loot and then use it in dungeons to pvp with. They really need to increase floor layout variety, there is only 2 different layouts for each floor and it used to be even more. Everything starts to feel so static after you spend more than 10 hours playing the game. The game really needs some more long term progression too for players that put in 40+ hours a week so they can do something other than just run down people in pvp. Random events in dungeons would also be pretty cool. Balance changes never make any big movement in the game and just has the devs running in circles with balance ideas making players even more annoyed with the balance. If the game just had more variety and long term progression people wouldnt be as focused on the balance and they wouldnt spend 99% of the game pvping.
THOSE who were there during the sketchy torrent days.... just wow... we went through so much risk for the love of this game... and the game in question a year later is bascially cheating in front of us...
We don't need more grind, we need the circle system back and squire free equipment removed. Then PVP and lust for loot will be back and we will have fun again. As of maps, it would be enough to randomly generate them in current settings and that's it - without randomly generated maps game soon becomes not a dungeon exploration but some counter-strike with bows and fireballs. That's the potential I personally saw in this game. Not grinding. If you are in fond of grinding go to gym or find a second job, really. p.s. With love
Your two most recent videos are in star contrast of each other, and it's hilarious. SDF really went from the best dude ever, to the biggest idiot on the planet in a span of two weeks kekw.....
I love this game but the loot change has killed it for me i have 2k hours and hope to god they turn it around somehow i really hope we also get the guild halls and raids etc it seems like we are on slomo like they have over 100 employees and we arent waiting for a full game just content to he added to a already built game definitely seems like its not coming like it should
I disagree a bit, I only started after the steam release and I absolutely loved the core mechanics/gameplay What kept me playing wasn’t anticipation for what could be like you, but anticipation for more content like maps and classes and modes, but keeping the core gameplay the same But this last patch that literally removes the main point of the game, aka looter extraction, makes me not even want to play
All my friends and I played the first DnD steam tests and were absolutely hooked. We played the shit out of it, and it was looking really fucking good. Then it disappeared from steam cause of the lawsuit. We all waited for it to eventually come back, and I watched its progress on youtube during that time. By the time multiclassing came around, I was checked out. Now its back on steam, except you have to buy the currency to buy the game. Not really interested anymore, and that blows. Idk why they developed it the way they did. I don't think this game has the capacity to get a large playerbase anymore.
DND is going to fall further due to a number of problems. the state of combat itself STILL being "simple" foundations that people rather avoid than try (range and speed beats everything), the community getting more and more toxic because of RMT and Teaming, sdf not using the test server at all. the game has stagnated to the put even this recent patch shows that people will just be doing anyway, spawn rushing and two tapping eachother. but hey, if the TTK is fast enough, you wont notice how bad the combat actuall is eh? like how hot coffee can hide the taste of poor quality coffee grounds.
Random modules would help with spawn rushing, and gear should be exciting to loot because it does something new for your character. At the end of the day, the devs got lucky once and then egos took over. They still don’t have a tutorial because the devs are afraid to touch the code.
Properly implemented random modules would honestly be damn awesome, there's many different ways to do it and it would likely take a long time to make but that's something that could completely change the flow of the game.
@@Hansdaddyslim the only crazy gear in the game is a perfectly rolled unique there’s no point in wearing a blue if it has no good rules it initially put you at disadvantage if it either has less armor rating or weapon case less damage
Might be me coping, but I can only get excited about the ideas you have for this game XD, please Ironmace fucking hire this man, he quit his job for y'all lol
Couldn't pay me enough to play a pvp only game these days, cheating and sapping all the fun out of the game in the name of balance is all that does while the devs put no effort into content.
@12:29 This will remove the little remaining skill expression left in the game. You mentioned skill expression earlier in the video. Id reconsider this point if you want skill expression.. the game needs content but this isnt it
I find it so strange that they work on a adding a second layer to map that is not even fun to play. Nearly everyone I play with dislikes frost mountain because of the horrible enemy density. Ironmace could do so much better with some proper leadership.
I just think dark and darker is a great game, this patch doesn’t bother me so much. I kinda just…play the game for the PvP interactions lol. Sub stats are cool to find.
@@xenird My point is, dodging during combat also gives you a skill cap. Always turn your back or dodge properly from the zweihhander. idk what you meant :D I completely agree with your video, unfortunately I uninstalled the game after over 1000 hours
@@pilzebub723 Well yeah that's still skill expression. I just thought you meant you can straight up avoid being hit all the time if you're good enough lol
5:20 wait nahh, that is crazy that you think them making more maps was a waste of resources and time. having 3 maps is fucking awesome bro, and it allows them to make more fucking items. so it was a very good time and resources spent on making new maps instead of having only 1.
Repoze basically made the same conclusion as you and convince me the gear change was bad. however his video is so much better at explaining things without exegeration. ig you have a much more extreme negative view about the change or youre just misleading people unintentionally.
also fyi, 11:44 go look at steamchart of dark and darker. the player base is basically unchange, same amount of people are playing it. youre acting like "not a single person that is exicted" to go play. this is totally wrong man...
@@qwqs0 im 50 50 on it. i do think the gear change was bad but i dont think they will revert the change because from a game developing stand point, it is a much healthier game to balance now. i think the only way im ok with the gear change is for them to add more items into the game but idk, i havent even try out all the crafted items yet. so either more player will realized crafting is the end goal loot progression now or they listen to haters and believe gear completely sucks now. which ever side most player pick will decide the player count going forward.
@@masonlazy2740 crafted gear required too much effort (500 gold+ per piece at the very least) and only stats that is better than squired is like 0.5% move speed or 3.5% armor pen when compare effort and reward it’s just not worth it
I feel like your expectations for the game are pretty unrealistic. This is partially the fault of IM and their messaging, but Imo the game has changed a lot and the devs of the game are much more transparent than other devs for other games.
Fellow Patch #3: give them some time sdf said that they want to pivot the game and we are seeing that. I am holding judgment till i see more about the direction they want to go. The band aids coming off hurt but it means they are working on it.
Exactly, they are going back to that. It's just going to rough along the way as they have to undo alot of what happened since. No reason to lose your mind over one patch when the game will be different in a week with the next.
@xenird you want a game that was never intended to be made. Patch 68 was the culmination of many "fixes" to appease those who can afford to spend hours a day grinding out gear. This change feels, to me, like they are opening up the games content to the casual gamers. Which, I believe, is the population that truly carries a game out of obscurity. If more people can enjoy this game like I did when infirst got it, then I would gladly sacrifice my BIS gear, less shit I have to worry about when jumping in the dungeon.
@@kaistroud3960 68 was the opposite, people who couldn't play for hours every day could finally get gear from looting mobs and chests, if you wanted 0 risk 0 reward there was this little thing called gear score that you could make below 24 and have no risk without removing the "dungeon crawling" and "PvE" aspects in a PvPvE dungeon crawler game
I'm making twice the gold per run that I used to, and about 1.5x the AP when doing primarily HR PvE. If people are complaining that PvE is unrewarding, it's because they aren't paying attention to the fact that what is valuable has fundamentally changed, but that the value is still there. They just aren't looking out for a green shirt with +4 max health, so when they nab a 500g piece from a goblin, they aren't excited and they merchant it for 30g. Then they get to the market and sell their new orange halberd with +0.8% regular interaction speed +0.7%, magical interaction speed +0.5%, butthole interaction speed, +2 stink for 75g and mald on reddit. The PvE is honestly pretty fine right now. I would definitely suggest squishing the tiered gear disparity instead of annihilating it entirely, but considering there's absolutely no way they aren't going to revert this eventually, I'll let them cook with that for a while. The PvP is absolute dogwater right now because of the class balance changes. Fighting on more even ground for gear? Good! Barb-iche one shots every class but barb, rage is now literally 6 seconds of 3 stack sprint +10 str +10 vig, reckless attack for 100% armor pen? Bad. Very very bad. Crystal sword fighter got its much needed nerf of... -1 damage per hit (-5% MP reduction). Admittedly not as bad because of the reduced stat maximums, but still quite a bad and dumb decision. Trying to do any class related changes at the same time as sweeping, global gear and stat changes? Insanity. Pure madness. Note: Doing primarily HR PvE because this is the only playstyle that is not either latency-checking a barb and praying the parry doesn't whiff to decide whether I one shot him or he one shots me, or playing CoD: Barb and Ranger.
the moment they reworked the fortress map and they removed the final zone with all the portals the pvp and the real fun in the game jumped out of the window
Eveyone's dooming over one patch when the game changes every week I don't get it. As some one who played since pt1 I thought those first 3 playtests were peak, 4 was good too. And here's the thing, they want to go back to that. That is their goal, but you see it requires a lot of undoing of a ton of bandaid changes that happened to the game over the past year and a half since when the game pivoted in a different direction. It's going to be rough going back and while changes to the gear might not be ideal, that can be simply changed along the way. But their goal is to get back to that original idea for the game and it's going to take some time. There is no reason to lose your mind over one patch when it will be different the next. They went in circles bc they spent too much time going in a different direction than the playtests. If they used the playtests as a baseline from the start instead of catering and fixing making bandaid after bandaid, we wouldn't be here with this issue. They now know this and are going back but its going to be rough ripping those bandaids off along the way.
It's not about this one patch. It's about all patches. #68 was loved by everyone, what they did was revert #68 that everyone loved and released #69 that they knew everyone would hate ("this reaction was expected")
Many games focus on attracting many players rather than keeping old time players. Idk what's more profittable but this is nothing new and it isn't anything bad. You are simply on the losing end while others are on the winning end
Bruh you quit your job to be a "content creator" for a game that wasn't even out yet. Joke's on you. I mean it's sad that you had faith in this experience, but that was a really bad call. You should go out and get a real job. Not trying to be mean, i mean, it's your future bro. I love this game, i don't mind this patch, they're trying out new stuff, it's THEIR Ip, they can do what they want. But you making a life changing decision based on an unreleased game was pretty dumb. I hope this is a strong wake up call to get your shit together.
i can totally see why it would seem dumb, but content creation was always something i was passionate about, dnd just gave me the motivation to commit to it

I do not get this "No reason to loot" arguement. Previously good enchantment rolls made an item, not it's rarity. Epics were everywhere, so it was already the baseline. BIS was never BIS because it was legendary rarity. BIS was BIS because it had 3-5 good enchantments. Enchantments didn't change, so I do not get the arguement of "no reason to loot because I start in epics!". Epics were everywhere. Everyone was at least in epics or higher in HR anyway. The enchantments are what matter, this has always been the case, and after this patch this still remains to be the case.
A Legendary last patch with all off rolls was better than a green with and on roll, because the base stats were wayyy higher, wasn’t all about rolls, base stats make a way bigger difference to your characters strength, there isn’t completely no reason to loot but now all that matters is rolls, finding a legendary doesn’t even matter anymore cause the random blue with on rolls you found is better, there isn’t “no reason to loot” but it definitely is un motivating, especially because PvP is pretty much the reason to grind for good gear but now you don’t need gear to PvP anymore
@@Celeroh "PVP is the reason to grind for gear, but now you don't need gear to pvp." This statement says that you looted gear so that you could pvp. So your goal was to pvp, and for that reason you had to loot gear. Now you say you don't need gear to pvp. You can just pvp straight up. Since you only looted gear for pvp, isn't that just supposed to be an upgrade then? Now you no longer have to loot for pvp, you can just pvp, which is the reason why you did the looting to begin with. What you are saying doesn't make sense.
everyone crying is just actually bad at the game and was relying on gear checks to win fights. besides barb and ranger the game feels more balanced than it has in a long time. if you really think gear is useless run arena with squire kit you’ll come the realization that gear still matters. or you’ll continue to live in delusion 😂. 🤡🤡
Gotta love youtube shills pumping out their content all for views... To choose to toss dice, then complain about the results is not becoming of a man, and the RNG in any game is a dice roll, man up and stop acting like the sky is falling.
Sounds like you're just being a sadboi. The game is still EA and some games are EA for an exceptional amount of time before 1.0. It may or may not improve as a game past it's current state before 1.0 realease, but the game is fun enough as is.
Yeah dude, the 1 shoot system is so fun at the moment, barb was super weak before, glad he now has the most ms, the most strength and can 1 2 tap anyone. GTFO
You’re right the game is fun, until you hit level 15 and now there’s nothing left to grind for because squire gear and maybe green rings and a pendant can beat kits that took days to get the money for. It’s just kind of like what’s the point of playing the game at all if everything you’re working for doesn’t even do that much for you
@@mariusss95 Sounds like you're coping. The game legitimately incentivizes running away like a puss. So many players do nothing but run away. It's really crazy how I kill barbs all the time and don't get 1 shot by them. Sucks to suck?

The idea of it seemed pretty fun, which initially was that there's going to be me in a dungeon with mobs and other people, all trying to survive in hopes of getting good loot and becoming stronger gradually. So now that gear does not matter as much, what's left to play for? I like trying different classes and trying to understand the mechanics of the game but that can only go so far. So I agree with you.
i miss the magic of that december playtest more than anything, feels good to be reminded of that era of dnd
For real, nothing like it.
Pt4 dagger Wiz was the most fun I had
Game was peak when everyone was dying to skeletons.... God I miss those days.
ain't no way 40% enjoyed multiclass and wanted it to stay. thats the biggest cope i've ever heard. before steam the player count dipped under 500 because of it. multiclass was a circus.
100%
If you mean under 5,000 then you’re spot on. Feels like just yesterday I was playing goblin caves looking at 1.7K in dungeon… crazy to think we’re going back after steam release.
You must mean 5000 bc i follow the numbers that never happened
Facts dude, where are the houses and common areas or ANY of the community requests
Edit: also if you read this comment, really appreciate and agree with your ideas in this video
im glad someone gets what im saying with the destiny take
the game doesnt feel anything like it did in playtest 3, i remember when everyone was using gathering hall and just casually queing into the crypts and trying to learn how the game works, the dungeon was scary and pvp felt exiting when it happened. now the game is very toxic and no one respects pve or the dungeon, it boils down to spawn rushing and everyone is super toxic have huge pvp egos
i just miss the old game
also ice caves was a total waste of time, it doesnt fit thematically and gameplay wise, crypts is and will be the best map, the old HR crypts was so peak because it felt amazing to play with the colosseum and all
colosseum was even worst than ice maps but i agree ice maps are garbage but colosseum was too one sided regular crypts way better design
Havent really played a wipe in its entirety since before MC, and dont olan on coming back anytime soon.
they might as well delete all the other classes as everyone is running Bardiche barb lmfao. Had to uninstall, game is so bad.
Join the Bardiche gang, don't do anything just spawn rush everyone with a trail of mob behind you, if you die they die with you. Make no one want to play the game ^_^
Behave anyone with enough time to have spent their life playing a lot of games have enough mouse skills to make ranger extremely oppressive for 90% of the game life
@@Sanghelios-CTN sounds boring
Ranger is even worse. Barbs are like 10% of my lobbies, 80% is rangers 2 shotting, sometimes 1 shotting everyone
@@henriquerodrigues7795 exactly this ranger does the same damage as bardiche barb's headshot but with two longbow body shots from across the room, but with more armor pen. Complaining about barb when you can easily out-range them as most classes is silly when ranger is going around 2 shotting most people.
I just bought this game 3 days ago. I'm butthurt I missed the best parts of it now that everyone is leaving.
I would say hold on for a bit, even though this whole video is me complaining I do think this game still has potential
I do wonder if sdf is trying to destroy DnD because they are loosing the trial or something.
Its literally that bad of a patch you really do wonder
Yep im exactly the same as you playing since pt3 and love the game but where is all the content? Over a year and we are still playing the same crypts map with zero new modules, quivers? Zero new mechanics etc. And now endgame content and pvp have been removed, squire kit HR is the new meta like wtf is going on.........
I would like to have solos, duos, and trios be available for all the maps all the time. I would also like the arena/ pvp specific modes to be available all the time. I also believe having more than two skills
would make the combat more nuanced
Just want to note, you spent basically 2 full raids in some of the highest traffic modules and didnt see another player. RIP playerbase
that idea of making raids is fantastic, this game can be so much then a fantasy cs go
You're on the money, but I've seen that from a mile away and I'm sure others who exploited those systems did too, I bought the game HOPING that they will miraculously get it right but they didn't, even since Playtest 3 peering into the future I asked myself some simple questions, if I'm a Wizard, and he's a Barb, what interaction do we both have with each other besides a movespeed gap?
You hit the nail on the head, bring back playtest 3!
Somewhere, I hear a child crying in the background.
Please hold out hope for Dark and Darker I love watching your videos, they’re so funny and entertaining, please don’t give up on D&D yet man!! 😭🙏
I’ll probably never give up on this game, Its just been though finding the motivation to play, I still think itonmace can turn it around and make the game really good. And thank you really W comment
Your idea of the raid looks so cool game would be insane with a raid system
The changes were shocking , but the one thing I wish they didn’t change was the gear , cuz like you said , there is no point to loot anymore , it has turned into pVP centered , which is not bad but makes everything else on the game obsolete
revert to playtest 4 and rebuild the game with repoze at the helm Cinema
However the items go into a separate PvE only stash
2) - Weekly events.
"A year of no content". We ignoring new bosses, new classes, new levels, new weapons? DaD playerbase are such divas.
No meaningful content (in my opinion) I will say the new crypts bosses are really cool, i absolutely love their designs and mechanics (should’ve mentioned it in the video) but the gameplay loop just isn’t there to make them enjoyable or worth doing (in my opinion)
@@Celeroh That is certainly an opinion
What a fucking joke SDF is as a lead dev
DaD should have been incredible, yet here we are
wow i'm not alone :/ wish it was more hub, more skill, less gear diff. I actually agree 80% with your ideas good video.
"torrent" and "sketchy" have nothing in common. Nobody went through any risk.
@@xenird its very sketchy torrenting games. there's nothing legal about torrenting games.

If you are in fond of grinding go to gym or find a second job, really.
p.s. With love
I could be wrong but isnt this the first part to your vision balancing the classes and their stats so that they can build the game in rpg way you want
They should have a dedicated seperated balance team, and the devs should work at content solely
Your two most recent videos are in star contrast of each other, and it's hilarious. SDF really went from the best dude ever, to the biggest idiot on the planet in a span of two weeks kekw.....
just moved to Dungeonborne, and having lots of fun, it has less player but I love the pvp.
they will never balance this game "just right"
I love this game but the loot change has killed it for me i have 2k hours and hope to god they turn it around somehow i really hope we also get the guild halls and raids etc it seems like we are on slomo like they have over 100 employees and we arent waiting for a full game just content to he added to a already built game definitely seems like its not coming like it should
Amazing video bro, i agree with everything you are saying
Cant wait till ironmace fixes this mess, i believe
SPEAKING FAX BRING BACK OLD DND
At this point just give each class all the skills and spells, it’s turning into dingeonborne at this point
I disagree a bit,
I only started after the steam release and I absolutely loved the core mechanics/gameplay
What kept me playing wasn’t anticipation for what could be like you, but anticipation for more content like maps and classes and modes, but keeping the core gameplay the same
But this last patch that literally removes the main point of the game, aka looter extraction, makes me not even want to play
They could have simply kept the drop rates high and made squire gear better (but not insanely strong)...
Yep, the worst thing that can happen to your game is not hate, it's apathy.
Nice vid, what a shame don't have much viewer
They are “fixing” things that aren’t even broken. Is Nexon about to win the rights to the game and Sdf is bringing the player base down? Its that bad.
Properly implemented random modules would honestly be damn awesome, there's many different ways to do it and it would likely take a long time to make but that's something that could completely change the flow of the game.
ive said it hundreds of times ..SDF shouldny be allowed in the kitchen 😂😂
Multiclass was stupid af. What are classes for, if everyone can do everything? (extremly spoken)
idk i would rather have a gear diff bc if i skill diff them i feel good and get crazy stuff
there is still crazy gear in the game, you just don't need it to win as much as before tbf (disregarding how broken barb and ranger are rn)
@@Hansdaddyslim the only crazy gear in the game is a perfectly rolled unique there’s no point in wearing a blue if it has no good rules it initially put you at disadvantage if it either has less armor rating or weapon case less damage
Might be me coping, but I can only get excited about the ideas you have for this game XD, please Ironmace fucking hire this man, he quit his job for y'all lol
lmaooo
Couldn't pay me enough to play a pvp only game these days, cheating and sapping all the fun out of the game in the name of balance is all that does while the devs put no effort into content.
@12:29
This will remove the little remaining skill expression left in the game. You mentioned skill expression earlier in the video. Id reconsider this point if you want skill expression.. the game needs content but this isnt it
adding more skills that deepen the combat experience lowers the skill gap?
Let me some up his entire video in one sentence.
The game isnt fun anymore, and it hasn't been for a year+!
I find it so strange that they work on a adding a second layer to map that is not even fun to play. Nearly everyone I play with dislikes frost mountain because of the horrible enemy density. Ironmace could do so much better with some proper leadership.
I love frost mountain for how bright it is, no ranger traps and no rogues. The mobs are... Made for ranged classes lmao
playing as a cleric on the frost map is fun af. holy purification just take out tons of the undead enemies. sounds like a skill issue.
bro quit his job for dark and darker 😭
I just think dark and darker is a great game, this patch doesn’t bother me so much. I kinda just…play the game for the PvP interactions lol. Sub stats are cool to find.

This video isn’t just about the patch, it’s about the past year of dark and darker
Devs = dummies
As a good player you can dodge all attacks in melee combat, it's not enough to just press LM to be good :D
Unless the opponent knows that you can move the mouse to aim the melee weapon, in that case you can't dodge
@@xenird My point is, dodging during combat also gives you a skill cap. Always turn your back or dodge properly from the zweihhander. idk what you meant :D I completely agree with your video, unfortunately I uninstalled the game after over 1000 hours

Repoze basically made the same conclusion as you and convince me the gear change was bad. however his video is so much better at explaining things without exegeration. ig you have a much more extreme negative view about the change or youre just misleading people unintentionally.

I feel like your expectations for the game are pretty unrealistic. This is partially the fault of IM and their messaging, but Imo the game has changed a lot and the devs of the game are much more transparent than other devs for other games.
Good video nice topic
Fellow Patch #3: give them some time sdf said that they want to pivot the game and we are seeing that. I am holding judgment till i see more about the direction they want to go. The band aids coming off hurt but it means they are working on it.
Exactly, they are going back to that. It's just going to rough along the way as they have to undo alot of what happened since. No reason to lose your mind over one patch when the game will be different in a week with the next.
Give them time... We've given them time and we have a game that is constantly reverting course.
We should not give them more time after they saw how good #68 was and still released #69 knowing it's bad ("This reaction was expected"-IM)
@@kaistroud3960 68 was the opposite, people who couldn't play for hours every day could finally get gear from looting mobs and chests, if you wanted 0 risk 0 reward there was this little thing called gear score that you could make below 24 and have no risk without removing the "dungeon crawling" and "PvE" aspects in a PvPvE dungeon crawler game
i guess PvErs 24/7 grinders will leave, PvPers will stay. for a while.
Note: Doing primarily HR PvE because this is the only playstyle that is not either latency-checking a barb and praying the parry doesn't whiff to decide whether I one shot him or he one shots me, or playing CoD: Barb and Ranger.
this was hillarious, how a kid left his job for becoming a streamer of a dead game.. better than fiction.

Frost map is the worse map.. it sucks so bad not even fun to play.
Finally, they came out with a good patch to fix the gear gap! First good patch I've seen.
the moment they reworked the fortress map and they removed the final zone with all the portals the pvp and the real fun in the game jumped out of the window
Its 10x more expensive to gain a new customer than it is to retain a current customer
Oh look at you with ur negativity
i can totally see why it would seem dumb, but content creation was always something i was passionate about, dnd just gave me the motivation to commit to it
Yes you should never follow your dreams
I wish they had kept Multi class
We need mordhou melee combat
And new weapons.
Fuck. no. Theres a reason that game is dead in the water.

@@Celeroh man I understand your point but you still asking for them almost to make a new game and all, you don’t know how big is their team, you ask for houses? Guildhalls? How the hell man, how is that possible in this game that is about instance and dungeon crawling, you could ask for the use of one or two skills more but you went out the roof with all you are asking
@ismaeldeleija8165 these aren’t ideas I made up, these are their ideas that they’ve been talking about adding since the beginning of early access.
@@ismaeldeleija8165houses/guildhalls wouldnt be so difficult since they could just add it like they did with the pre-game lobbies except have them be customizable
Because it's more efficient to go in with a set of squire gear than to spend anything on "good" gear
@@Celeroh "PVP is the reason to grind for gear, but now you don't need gear to pvp."
This statement says that you looted gear so that you could pvp.
@@flaviodelhusza8320 Brother. It doesn't matter, the game is boring with no purpose now. That's it.
lol what a dumb clickbaity title
They need to have game modes u can select if u want multi class/dungeon crawler/ regular/high roller ect
everyone crying is just actually bad at the game and was relying on gear checks to win fights. besides barb and ranger the game feels more balanced than it has in a long time. if you really think gear is useless run arena with squire kit you’ll come the realization that gear still matters. or you’ll continue to live in delusion 😂.
@@JeefBerkyOfficial I just started playing this game 2 days ago.
@@psychoalert1823 they reverted this patch so the game is back to the way it was before!
