Was the hood able to close with that intake? I have a 81 caballero I’m about to LS swap.

Yes although some clearance needs to be made for the alternator at the top but it's nothing major.

@@Adukka what you mean by alternator clearance?

The very top of the alternator was hitting the support structure of the hood so I cut a notch out so it didn't hit.

@@Adukka need a video on the maf check, currently in limp mode

@@Driversnetwork101 don't currently have a maf or the supra around to do a video but all I did was find the wiring diagram for the maf itself and supplied switched 12v to it. The harness that came with the engine was not supplying the 12v it needed to the maf hence why it was in limp mode.

What headers did you use I have 88 el Camino swapping 5.3 also but my mechanic is having a hard time finding the driver side header for the steering rod is in the what headers did you use thanks

We swapped out the short headers and went with long tube headers. The long tubes made it easier to plumb the exhaust. Both headers were from Speed Engineering and bought from eBay. They’re basically knock off of the headman headers but with a little “persuasive hammering” they fit fine.
