Swimming pools should be treated with chlorine regularly (as per regulation within the permitted levels) and further disinfected using UV treatment as a follow up procedure. This is because chlorine treatment alone seems to be ineffective in killing this protozoan parasite.
Whereas UV treatment of water was much effective in eradication of the parasite from contaminated water.

She is talking about Naegleriasis caused by Brain Eating amoeba called Naegleria fowleri. Most commonly occurs because of consumption of contaminated water source
