She sang, as always, well, but my heart did not flinch. To sing the songs of the Queen, you need to have courage and self-confidence. Dimash did not copy or imitate Freddy. Dimash made his own personal version. I've been listening to Dimash for almost two years. One day I was met by a comment from a viewer who tried to explain why Dimash sang this song this way:
- FIRST CUPLET means Freddie's childhood in India. There everything was quiet and tender, and the show was in dreams, in the distant future. Here Dimash sings softly and beautifully.

This kid , I just can't explain what he does to us! He is an extraordinary human being. Not an alien as so many like to say, lol. His humanity is unmistakenly obvious. However I just cannot in any kind of way explain what he is doing to us! I know that some of his songs move me to tears. And I know which notes and which part of the song will crack me! There I go on my daily jog with my earphones and suddenly right in the middle of the park I will be crying my eyes out! I'm a complete nutter, I know.

In my opinion, Dimash performed this legendary composition wonderfully (with passion and complete dedication).
Yes, of course he had an accent and not perfect pronunciation (as it was his first composition in English and he studied it phonetically). But personally for me the main thing is an emotional component and I feel this artist in each composition. He is an excellent interpreter.

Sorry for his microphone?. This from a man who flings he s headphones about like confetti at a wedding. Seriously though, I love your channel and admire your passion. As regards our beloved Dimash,. We have all seen voice coaches fall off their chairs. Rap artists braught to tears and metal heads rendered speechless. All in an effort to define our boy. I think that I have finally found the right adjective. Dimash is transformative. He smashes every norm that he touches and redefighnes every idea he enbraces. He emotes with his face. He sings with his body and he talks with his hands. All the while enploying a voice so chiseled honed and glorious, the gods themselves weep when hearing it. He has 6 octaves but also sings violin chello flute electric guitar and dolphin. He comes across as friendly and easy going but I suspect that he is as smart as a whip and as disciplined as a monk. To dream of conquering the world's stage at age 5 and have it come to parse at age 22 takes an extraudinary degree of single mindedness. Still, he is universally loved and that must be a heavy burden. I hope to god he does not crack under th strain because I, for one, could gladly spend the rest of my life doing nothing else but listening to him sing.

Well, what should I start with?
About the outfit, imagine that someone must wear all those strange expensive designer outfits apart from models. No one wears them on the street, so I guess it works for artists.:)) Sometimes they give him strange outfits. Btw, he has a photo on his IG in pajamas with "Dears" written on them.
About his performance, it's not among my favourites compared to other performances of his, but it's awesome nonetheless, especially that scream, which was very surprising to me back in 2017 ( Maybe in the back of my mind I also compare it with the original which is less explosive and vocally complex).
Back then, Dimash didn't speak English at all, except for introducing himself and thanking, and he prepared this song in a week, during a competition.
And man, he did the solo guitar in the original with his voice. Also, he said afterwards that the performance was lacking, God knows how he wanted it.
Anyways, it's Dimash we're talking about, so this performance is a must watch for any dear. There's only one I don't like from him, Uptown Funk, it's fun, but it doesn't do him justice. But even so, everything he sings is a must watch. Even watching him enjoy himself while trying instruments casually is fun and relevant for understanding more of who he is.
You were so funny, banning yourself didn't work either. The power this man has is scary sometimes, at least as far as I'm concerned.

Estera Șuticău Hello! Thanks for all the good info in your post. I agree with you about Uptown Funk. It always seemed to me that maybe he was pressured into doing that one because the tv producers wanted to market him as more of a standard pop star, when there is nothing standard about Dimash and part of that is that he simply defies being placed in or defined by a genre. I don’t know that for sure, it’s just how it seems to me. Every once in a while you see a performance by Dimash on some previous-to-2018 show where instead of treating him like the Force of Nature he is, they tried to make him into a cookie cutter dancing monkey. He always makes it work, but you want to punch the producers behind those performances. Thankfully it seemed like “The Singer” producers mostly stopped trying that early on...although I wonder about the Michael Jackson medley too. I know Dimash is a fan, but to me it seemed, again, that the show runners were trying to give the audience a superficial pop star, when Dimash’s true strength is communicating deep and authentic emotion.
Hi, I wish people would stop criticising 'Uptown funk' it cant possibly do his vocal range justice, we all know that but it was 'crazy fun week' and Dimash ticked all the boxes with that brief. I appreciate its only your opinion but it does put people off watching/reacting when they read comments like that about it. @@erinorganic2597 Hello. Yes, we might never know what it was, but despite his strong backbone, he needs to make certain "compromises" to comply with policies, especially back then, at the beginning of his career.
As for the Michael Jackson medley, I agree once again. He deserved a grand finale, he could have done so many things with the amount of tools he has. But he also needed to make a team with his partner, and it seems to me that usually when he sings with other people, he holds back. Also, the sound seemed bad to me, I couldn't hear him properly as they other singer was louder than him, and I doubt it wad because her voice was stronger. I know he loves Michael Jackson and I don't think he had a problem choosing him for the finale, but the performance was all over the place and kind of unlike him. (But still, not on the same page with Uptown Funk, in my book).
But we can only speculate on all these things.

It's just my opinion, not everyone sees it the same. I don't hate it, and it's not just about Dimash's range, but about fitting him as a singer and as an artist overall. It doesn't suit him at all, in my opinion, not with this arrangement and not in a singing contest or event, knowing what he's capable of.
Also, I don't think a comment or two would stop people who really like him. On the contrary, they'll be curious to know what can possibly not come out great from him.
But yes, thinking about it, I realise it can set certain expectations and prejudices for those who see the critique before. But we're different, and many people enjoy that performance. That kind of music is not my cup of tea in general, and while Dimash explores lots of music and has fun with various genres, I see him as more on the classy sophisticated side.

Haha you cracked me up with your reaction! 😆 Thank you Filipe for giving me a good laugh. What can I say, Dimash is a vocal beast! You can’t do no wrong with any of his performances. Otherwise, back in 2017, he could barely speak English and had a strong accent. Fast forward 3 years later, his pronunciation has drastically improved, and he can now communicate with ease. I personally find his little accent quite charming actually! We call it “Dinglish”. ☺️
