Hello!! Welcome to the Dimash era!!! The first time I heard Dimash I was surprised just like you. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My first songs I heard from Dimash were SOS and Sinful passion. You will be tied up like all of his "dears”. That's what Dimash calls his fans and there are millions of us around the world. Dimash was born into a household of musicians. At age 5 he began training at a music school where he was diagnosed with "absolute pitch." At age 6 he won his first piano competition. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, which is 9th biggest country in the world and this is the video from when he participated in the Chinese singing competition 8 years ago. Imagine how good he is now. There is no one comparable to Dimash. As the saying goes, "You ain't heard nothin' yet." Dimash is from Kazakhstan and was only 22 when he performed on this show' the youngest in the show's history. It is a favored song of the French people, and Dimash has made it his own. It doesn't matter what to suggest next because Dimash never disappoints. Welcome to Dimash. Tip of the iceberg. This was in 2017. He has matured and gotten even better. He is multi-talented, singing any genre he wants, sings in many different languages including English, plays 8 instruments, composes and acts etc. Any video or performance you hit with Dimash's name will be incredible. As far as the blue alien on the 5th Element, some of that performance was computer generated. However, Dimash does do the Diva Dance song live, with no computer. Check out Dimash, Diva Dance Bastau. It is short but most people play it at least twice because they can not believe what they see and hear.

He was so young in this video. He’s just released SOS again just a few weeks ago. He’s singing while Hauser, a well known cellist, performs with him. Dimash turned 30 this year and his voice has matured beautifully, you must see this recent version!

💯% agree! Best singer in the world, hands-down! His entire catalog is amazing. A few of my favorites are simple passion and the story of one sky. He sings in like 11 or 12 languages and can play multiple instruments. He’s a big fan of MJ too.
I can not argue he is the best vocalist I have ever heard. His range is 7 plus octaves. Both his parents are singers. His younger brother is also musical. Apparently his parents noticed he had perfect very early and he began voice training at 5. He is now 31. He has two masters degrees in classical and contemporary music and is now working on a PhD. Kazakhstan is a Eurasia country bordering Afghanistan in the west China in the East. It was part of the Soviet Union and gained independence when the USSR fractured. He speaks Kazak and Russian, is learning Mandarin and English and has performed in multiple languages. He is just beginning to become known in the West...he is far more known in Asia.
Dimash is a 30-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway, but it does happen sometimes😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 15 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. At his concerts he tells the audience that he has given concerts in many countries and repeatedly emphasizes that he loves everyone in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His recent concerts were in Prague and Düsseldorf (End of November). It was so amazing and it lasts more than 3 hours. I still haven't really arrived in the here and now😅. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, that you've seen the best and that it's impossible for it to get any better, you realize you're so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He is constantly his biggest competitior to get better and better. He is a real perfectionist. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is and likes to try new things. You can't compare him to any other singer on this planet. He has so many different music genres and styles. He loves Freddie Mercury, but also Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, Luciano Pavarotti and Eminem and you can also hear that one or the other has an influence on some of his songs. Every time you watch a new video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing and always a little different. Not only can he sing perfectly and his performances are outstanding he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. SOS is a song in the French rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. And you’re right there he sings in French. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time. I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Since you mentioned Diva Dance from the 5th Element. He did the last part of this song a few times. Please react to the Diva Dance from his Bastau concert. He performed this song on his first solo concert in Kazakhstan called Bastau in 2017. It was after he finished The Singer competition in which he also performed The Diva Dance together with another awesome Italian song „Confessa“ by the Italian singer Adriano Celentano. What fascinates me the most is, that he sang Diva Dance in his concert where he had already been on stage for almost 2 hours. Just unbelievabel🤯. There are also more little vocal-surprises in this second video. The first and last part of this performance is called Drunken Concubine and it is from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China. He sings a duet with Li Yugang, a great Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera (females weren't allowed to perform and that hasn't changed to this day)). Here he sings the part of the concubine and Dimash the part of the Emperor. Li Yugang is a very famous singer in China. The two harmonize so well together. I agree he's the best. And yes he did sing "The Diva Dance." Look up the performance in 2017 at Bastau. He has sung in at least 16 languages. He's from Kazakhstan, so his two native tongues are Kazakh and Russian. His English has become close to fluent over the last 7 years. He says Chinese is the hardest language to speak or sing, yet he's getting better at that, too.

Hello!! Welcome to the Dimash era!!! The first time I heard Dimash I was surprised just like you. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My first songs I heard from Dimash were SOS and Sinful passion. You will be tied up like all of his "dears”. That's what Dimash calls his fans and there are millions of us around the world. Dimash was born into a household of musicians. At age 5 he began training at a music school where he was diagnosed with "absolute pitch." At age 6 he won his first piano competition. He continued his studies and graduated from the University of Classical and Contemporary Music. He has a master's degree in composition and is pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He is a multi-instrumentalist (6), as well as a vocalist and composer. He has ventured into acting, audiovisual direction, dance, advertising modeling (he is 6.3 feet tall). He has won countless awards and honors throughout his career. The most surprising thing is that he is barely 30 years old. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, which is 9th biggest country in the world and this is the video from when he participated in the Chinese singing competition 8 years ago. Imagine how good he is now.

There is no one comparable to Dimash. As the saying goes, "You ain't heard nothin' yet." Dimash is from Kazakhstan and was only 22 when he performed on this show' the youngest in the show's history. It is a favored song of the French people, and Dimash has made it his own. It doesn't matter what to suggest next because Dimash never disappoints. I can say that some of my favorites are, SOS, Sinful Passion, Your Love, Stranger, Olympico, All By Myself, Hello ( yes, Lionel Ritchie's song), and my #1 after SOS, Ikanaide. Oops, almost forgot, Stranger, and Adagio. That's just for starters. I am a 75-year-old African American great-grandmother, so you have an idea of the music I grew up listening to, quite eclectic by the way. Dimash is now 95% of the music I now listen to. - He speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, and is getting better in English and a little bit of Mandarin (but when you see old videos from 2017 he didn’t speak English at all, except: Thank you and I‘m Dimash)
- This was not his full range in this song. He has about double the range. Top note: D8
- He is highly trained in classical and contemporary music (even jazz) and he is one last step away from getting his phd.
- He is the most versatile singer I have ever heard. Every song is different. He sings in many genres. He can switch techniques very fast and is crazy dynamic, even when he sings a song with little range.
- On top of all of that he is also funny, humble, caring, advocates endlessly for peace and is a UN ambassador for refugees. His heart is as big as his voice! ❤

He is multi-talented, singing any genre he wants, sings in many different languages including English, plays 8 instruments, composes and acts etc. Any video or performance you hit with Dimash's name will be incredible. Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in Kazakh familys. He speaks 3 languages: Kazakh (mother tongue), Russian without an accent (second language in Kazakhstan) and English. So far he sings in 16 languages (phonetically). This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer).
The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

I can not argue he is the best vocalist I have ever heard. His range is 7 plus octaves. Both his parents are singers. His younger brother is also musical. Apparently his parents noticed he had perfect very early and he began voice training at 5. He is now 31. He has two masters degrees in classical and contemporary music and is now working on a PhD.
Kazakhstan is a Eurasia country bordering Afghanistan in the west China in the East. It was part of the Soviet Union and gained independence when the USSR fractured. He speaks Kazak and Russian, is learning Mandarin and English and has performed in multiple languages. He is just beginning to become known in the West...he is far more known in Asia.

Dimash is a 30-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world.
He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway, but it does happen sometimes😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 15 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert!
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. At his concerts he tells the audience that he has given concerts in many countries and repeatedly emphasizes that he loves everyone in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His recent concerts were in Prague and Düsseldorf (End of November). It was so amazing and it lasts more than 3 hours. I still haven't really arrived in the here and now😅. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, that you've seen the best and that it's impossible for it to get any better, you realize you're so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He is constantly his biggest competitior to get better and better. He is a real perfectionist. He's a singer you can't put in any box.
He sings almost every genre there is and likes to try new things. You can't compare him to any other singer on this planet. He has so many different music genres and styles. He loves Freddie Mercury, but also Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, Luciano Pavarotti and Eminem and you can also hear that one or the other has an influence on some of his songs.
Every time you watch a new video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing and always a little different. Not only can he sing perfectly and his performances are outstanding he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? SOS is a song in the French rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. And you’re right there he sings in French.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today.

The first and last part of this performance is called Drunken Concubine and it is from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China. He sings a duet with Li Yugang, a great Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera (females weren't allowed to perform and that hasn't changed to this day)). Here he sings the part of the concubine and Dimash the part of the Emperor. Li Yugang is a very famous singer in China. The two harmonize so well together. I think it's so fantastic how traditional Chinese opera meets Western music and harmonizes together in such a great way. I love it and I’m sure you will like it, too🥰.

He's from Kazakhstan, so his two native tongues are Kazakh and Russian. His English has become close to fluent over the last 7 years. He says Chinese is the hardest language to speak or sing, yet he's getting better at that, too.
