A database of all Electric Cars and the location and makeup of the battery housing must be known for this system to be effective.

It's better to just let them burn completely out if there's no fire spread hazard, and MUCH less of an impact on the environment, as most of the hazardous gases are burned in the fire.

Polish lance is much beter the dont need a hummer to get inside battery. It have very big pressure of water wchich cuts the floor and the battery. Also they have a night vison camera to see temperature of the battery.

you didnt check the air quality around the car , burning batteries give off hydrogen cyonide

how on god's green earth are these EV Cars still legal

Because they're much safer than gas cars. You are just so used to gas cars being unsafe, you got used to it. Notice how the firefighters are standing next to the car the whole time? They wouldn't be able to if there was gasoline.

@@mrmichrom8553 They certainly are NOT much safer than ICE vehicles ! - Notice that even with this device it took 17 MINUTES to TEMPORARILY extinguish the EV battery fire, whereas knockdown time for a fire crew FROM ARRIVAL (i.e.. not with pre-deployed equipment) at an ICE car fire with similar fire development would be between 3 TO 6 MINUTES to PERMANENT EXTINGUISHMENT depending on speed of hose-reel deployment (which typically takes only 1 to 2 minutes)
Add to this the specialist chemical clean-up required after an EV fire and the fact that EVs with compromised batteries will definitely self-reheat and reignite if not continually cooled for a bare minimum of 24 hours AFTER the initial fire is deemed extinguished and you can perhaps begin to appreciate the absolute nightmare that EV fires are already presenting for Fire Authorities all over the world.. and this is BEFORE the mass arrival of cheap, Chinese EVs with poorly made and even more unstable battery technology that are set to flood world markets very soon..

@@jjrider6758 but they so rarely catch fire, why's it a big deal? Gasoline cars catch fire 20x more frequently than EVs, and better battery chemistries improve that every year, look at LFP Tesla, no chance of a fire there, battery literally won't burn if you put a blowtorch on it.
