@@az-6262 When an armored formation goes in column, they usually go through a mine-sweeped trail, but ukrainians are also clever and destroy the first tank with drones and ATGM so the others have to go around it through mine-unsweeped terrain. If the first tank is tutel tonk, that problem is solved. Now let's see what ukrainians invent to counter it.
@watapizza1225 i think atgms work just fine, but russians are known to target them with drone strikes and artillery before almost every assault. Maybe mobile humvee anti tank squads, the downside in having these sheds on them is visibility, outmanuever the tank and its done for, but these tanks always have escorts of bmps and normal tanks, Plus there might be an overhead fpv suicide drone guiding and protecting the shed and convoy, unless it has an active drone jamming systen on board Artillery is a better solution, if only the ukrainians had enough, it needs to be almost a direct hit too, but then again, russians attack from multiple angles and regularly shift their movement, making them hard to hit, thats why ukraine almost only target buildings with Artillery

Today on Tiny House living, we got a T72 model house with tin shack decor for a retro farmhouse look. It can fit a family of 3, and has enough space to store plenty of ammunition for its main gun.
Thinking about it this isn't as stupid as it looks. The "Shell" makes getting a solid hit with an FPV very difficult especially with the powerful EW jammer they put under the housing. The sheet metal also acts like spaced armor against the molten jet of RPGs and ATGMs degrading their penetrative power or making them outright miss the tank as it's hard to eyeball where the actual tank is under the shed they bolted on it. The only thing this Turtle Tank is bad at fighting is other Tanks and IFVs as the situational awareness is awful. But if you have one or two in the vanguard to soak up damage and keep the other tanks back to provide fire support and/or exploit the breakthrough then it does have a niche use as an up-armored mine clearer.

Infantry underneath, or battery banks and generators for the 900mhz and 2.4ghz flood transmitter antenna arrays they use to try and jam FPVs. Neither of these systems (flesh bags or battery banks) are protected against shell splinters and hail of bullets when you're using galvanized roofing steel sheets. It may make a dropped hand grenade roll off. But if it stays, then the steel sheet becomes a spalling hazard. Now what it may actually do is make the vehicle appear so large, it's hard to apply the right track gates on fire and forget missiles like Javelin. And you also can't be sure you'd hit the hull underneath when using a SACLOS missile.

На момент проектирования всех танков странами НАТО или Варшавского договора конструкторы не думали о массовом использовании беспилотных дронов в качестве средств поражения бронетехнике. По этой причине обе стороны конфликта начали массово использовать решётчатые строение над башней в качестве дешёвого способа защиты от атак дрона в уязвимую крышу башни. Хочу так же дополнить тем что на танке т-72б3 уже в 21 году устанавливали такие козырьки для защиты (предполагалось что они защитят также от птрк Javelin, но тандемный боеприпас после прохождения расстояния от козырька до основной брони башни всё ещё сохранял достаточную силу для пробития, а контейнеры динамической защиты не закрывали всю верхнюю полусферу башни)
