every interview with him, is priceless. he's so generous with his answers, about his creative process. As a creative person myself, his words are so helpful!

agreed! I love hearing about how he edits with music too because that is against so much of what film school told me but it's why his films are so good!

He's doing it more and more I noticed in interviews these days. Often most of the way through the interview to describe or articulate how he receives and turns ideas into art. He's quite an inspiring and fascinating character. I've admired him from Twin Peaks, that was my first introduction to the world of Lynch, as a teenager, this bizarre and often surreal TV series, but beautifully shot and the dark humour we have come to associate with him. Later I went back and discovered Blue Velvet, Eraserhead and even his very early works and saw what a genius he is. I think the best way of thinking of David Lynch is a painter/illustrative artist, who accidentally became a film-maker. He still has the painter mindset and his films are really moving abstract art.

7:03: "Meditation helps ideas move more freely"...
"it's this negativity, it squeezes the 'toob" ideas can't get through, they want to help you!"
    (British woman interviewer: "poor ideas!")
    Lynch: "Yea".
lol. I just love the way he explains things in interviews. He is such an inspiring person to artists and creative people everywhere, and even those not creative or artistically inclined, can discover some in themselves just by exploring ideas, as Lynch does and trying different outlets.

David Lynch was one of the people that inspired me to go to the local Film/TV school when my employer "let go" of a whole bunch of us. I think David Lynch's work is great, and to get just a little more specific, that collab between DL and Angelo Badalamenti. I feel he is one of the only composers that really give Lynch's works that amazing boost.
