A legcsodálatosabb opera...nem tudom abbahagyni a kül. felvételek hallgatását...Olyan gyönyörű dallamok, hogy hihetetlen...Egyik énekes csodálatosabb mint a másik...
Superlative singing, but who is the Soprano? Curious presentation, and yet, it works for me... would very much like to see more of this... only then would it be possible to make a fair judgement. And let's be honest... so many "modernistic" takes on 19th Century Operas are, in general, way off the mark... the Librettists & Composers that created them must be cringing in their heaven or hell! But, very occasionally, the most way-out production can actually bring fresh perspective to a familiar piece... doesn't seem to happen too often! Hope to see the full Metropolitan Opera "Faust" posted soon....

Seeing younger people with talent like this I still believe there is hope for the human race . . . .
Umm… 😐😐😐😐
Wow, what a satisfying ending! This is the best staging of the ending that I've ever seen!!! Thank you for posting!❤
A wonderful opera. Great version.
God, I miss Poplavskaya, squally notes and all. She had extraordinary concentration and conviction.
She could act. She is such a better actor than the "other" Russian.
@@TeachUBusiness But the "other" Russian made much better choices which is why she's still singing. Personally, I'm a fan of both Russians.
Amen. As I said on another thread, she was spellbinding in the role in the house. A totally committed artist.
@@moorfan1 "Spellbinding." Yes, the perfect word. Wonderful voice, superb acting.

Wow
Poplyvskaya disappeared from opera stage (mainly ROH) and then we heard she became a mezzo.... wonder what happens recently?

One of my favourite arias and very well sung. Who are the singers?
"She is damned!" But I still don't get the ending as staged here.
It then says God saves her on reply, so that is the actual ending. She climbs the white staircase as a symbol of her soul going to heaven...
Sometimes contemporized and minimalistic productions do not work.
They certainly don't in this case
Is that Jonas Kauffman? Who is the soprano?
Yes, Kaufmann and Marina Poplavskaya.
Fausto mais bonito da história dessa ópera.

Meh....
Horrible production.
Disgusting production!
Thank you for saying it. Gelb has ruined the Met!
