The 2005 Honda CBR1000RR Repsol Edition came from the factory with a black frame. In 2007, Honda switched the Repsols to raw aluminum frames. There have been numerous uninformed comments concerning the video bike as being a "fake" due to the frame color.

if you are given the choice between choosing Honda Cbr1000rr 2005 Repsol Edition and Yamaha R1 2010 Fiat Edition special signature Rossi and which superbike will you choose? and give the reason ok

04-05's are the best looking. 2008+ is unattractive to me

@@GuerreroDelInfo fully agree. I always loved these blades. My mate bought the new 08 when they changed the shape and I never liked it. I like the fat back end of the 05. I have a mint condition low mileage hm plant Honda model and its 😍stunning! It's 16years old now.and still looks good amongst the newer bikes, in fact my bike will get a lot of attention compared to the newer bikes. Seems like this model was/is a fav to many superbike riders
As for the ride this thing isna pleasure to ride, no mod cons just a very good electronic steering damper and the feel of your right wrist. Imo that's all you need for that raw unedited feeling. With only 8k on the clock this badboy has all the power that it came with from the factory. Slight variation with the sprockets and the front wheel will come up easily off the clutch in 1,2,3 and 4th if your going quick enough. Bike will hit top end of 180 ish pretty comfortably. If your ever going that quick your going too quick so these newer bikes with top ends going towards the 200mph is just pointless to me. It's way more important to have a smooth PowerPlant with a strong mid range and I fee Honda got it close to perfect with the 05 blade!
The presenter of this clip got one thing bang on though. This gearbox does not like to be tickled. I learnt early on that you have to be very positive with gear shifts either wise u can hit false neutrals and the one thing he is 110% correct on is the change from 1st to 2nd....it is very clunky but something you get used to pretty quickly. I do wonder if a diff map setting would smooth this out but its something you really don't notice when u get used to the bike.
Imo this is one of the best looking Hondas you can buy and there are still a "FEW" out there with low miles. These are close to being a classic sports bike so just watch the price go through the roof for a real clean low miles one!
      #Honda powered😉

I think you will find the shift from 1st to 2nd alot smoother if you change gear at higher RPM these are designed to be driven hard, things don't work as well on sports bikes at low speed and RPM . Good review. cheers

    • @reid1boys
      @reid1boys 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

absolutely... this bike shifts much smoother from 1st to 2nd when you get above 6k RPMs.

Bought an 04 brand new when they first came out and had multiple problems. Proud such as crank bearing, low oil consumption, stator failure and the coolant line dry rotten and explode. There was a problem with buying replacement parts as they were discontinued or unavailable in the first couple of years of owning it. I kept it for 6 years and should of bought a GSXR 1000R instead.

@33svk33 H2 is fast post tune but pre tune it's a bit underwhelming from some of the Dyno tests. The 2016 R1 I got to ride was putting down 190 on the post tune which I have to say is dumb levels of fast. I still miss that bike but I don't need that much power.

i wish other manufacturers would make the gas tank fairing instead of painted gas tank where gas tank is part of part of the body work, so if you drop it and put it a dent in the gas tank you aren't stuck with a dented gas tank, just slap on a new fairing over it, wonder why other manufacturers haven't caught on yet, just seems much more practical from a cosmetic stand point, no dent pulling no repainting

You're doing great vids my Freind. I love the concept as I used to ride in the not so distant past I also own a fire blade. Also a zx7 and a monster 900. There can be alot said about older bikes as many still have relevance for people looking for the sport bike thrill without having to finance there life away. Would live to see more vids on classics like the monster 900 the r1 or even the yzf' 's of the day all classic and icons and an r1 would still hold it's own today. Thanks and keep it up!

Very beautiful, this bike. How does it behave in relation to 954 and 1000 06-07? there are many differences between these machines. I know that from 954 to 1000 everything has been changed. But in practice, walking in them, can many differences be felt? the 954, looking, looks smaller, lighter, compact and fun, and it also has a descending object door under the back seat. Anyway, for Sunday rides and quick rides, which one would be the best?

Do the oem farings have anything like a vin sticker where you can tell if they are original to bike?
I find on liter bikes they shift to 2nd much smoother at higher rpms.

Anybody know how many were produced in 2007? I'm about to go check out bike this weekend and wanted to make sure the vin is within the limited number produced.

I love mine, the comments made about no storage, high foot pegs, and no magnetic tank for bags are pointless really lets not forget this is an out and out sports bike.If I want to feel comfortable and go on holidays the blade doesn't get a look in,thats what I bought an old 1200 faired bandit for, perfect!

Confused as to why a "thin" "scalpel" doesn't make sense on the street. From my point of view that's exactly what you need in traffic - something nimble you can use to weave between cars (I don't even mean lane splitting, although that is a factor too). Track on the other hand, go as wide as you like.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but didn't SP version have lower front clip ons and a few other little differences other than just the plastic?

Bought mine brand new 0mi on it in 2004. I don't feel the clunkiness in the gears but that's me been riding the same bike since new. I'm tall so the weight forward kills my wrist. long distance rides suck if they don't have twistes. But overall love my 04 1000rr

Anybody got a good website for motorcycles I only found 2 CBR1000 within like 300 miles or a little more. That’s on Craigslist

I got my 05 in 2008. Its a great bike, but All this driving in this neighborhood.... did you get it out of 2nd gear? I have absolutely no need for a newer bike. As a matter of fact, I just did oil, coolant, front and rear brakes, new chain and sprockets in the past 2 weeks. Mine is black and silver. IM looking at new plastics this winter, either Red, white and blue or that gorgeous blue and yellow.

Quick question: I got myself one of these and I love it. But compared to my old Kawasaki ZX10, the brake lever has a little more "free play" before it actually starts gripping the brakes. Like 3/4 of an inch. I got used to it now, but I wonder if that's normal. Any owners out there have any advice? The brake fluid is new and the brakes are working otherwise perfect. Thanks!

***** Hi. Thanks for the additional response. Yes, my fluids were completely renewed. And the brakes work absolutely great. Nice firm grip with no saggyness or softness, front and back. The only thing I noticed is that the "free play" (for lack of a better description) of the front brake is more than what I was used to (I used to ride a ZX10). My old bike would "click" the rear brake switch at about 5mm and then the brakes would begin to bite. On my Fireblade I need to pull the lever about 10mm before the brake switch clicks and after that the brakes will engage (this was measured from the end of the lever to the edge of the handlebar stub). The brake levers are not OEM so it may be just that the lever and master cylinder have a little more play. I ordered a replacement master cylinder just to be sure that nothing is wrong with that. I will also check if the calipers are moving freely. The bike has 15K miles and the previous owner took really good care of it, so I hope everything is fine and I don't need to rebuild the calipers. Cheers! EDIT: I forgot to mention that the rotors are new, so that's one thing to check of my list as well. I got used to the brake as it is now but I'll be working on the bike during the winter and see what happens.

      Hey Mick
how could you compare the two bikes against each other ? I'm interested in owning a 06 zx10r but honestly I might be considered a (Kawi fan ) so after seeing this review I really like to take it easy and make the right decision !
would really appreciate your feed back on the two bikes regarding (Daily commuting , seating position , reliability for the bike and it's parts , suspension , long rides like more than 300 km , and the bike in general )
      .
      Thanks in advance man !
