Dylan Wilde it’s because this isn’t a fucking rebuild. He just repaired a few minor things that anyone can easily do. But other youtubers have to take apart most of the car and replace and rebuild everything. The only thing this guy “rebuild” was the speed gauge housing

Nice rebuild! Cosmetically sound. I recommend you check front end for alignment. Take tension off lower triple clamp pinch bolts and axle nut and plunge the front end for self realignment.
I don’t see negative comments here. I see a lot of concerned people viewing his repair work. Whether he’s keeping the bike or selling it, the first and foremost biggest question should always be “Is it safe to ride?” Especially after a crash. Check the alignment, check the suspension to see if the forks are suitable for riding or if that too needs to be repaired, check the engine, plugs, drive, etc...he’s young, he’s determined which is great but he should definitely be looking into all the small pieces and not just the cosmetics.

You did great!!! I crashed my Honda cbr 600 rr most of my ribs are broken but I'm grateful to walk away with that from could have been 💯 I'm going to work on mine and this video helped because it was similar damage. Thanks again!

I use the same paint as him it's an anodized kind of paint but it works better with bare metal, there is a can that's an adhesive for that kinda paint kinda like a primer but just grabs that paint better, completely clear

Not that i am a hater but. Rebuild??? It just reminds me of when i was 8 years ols and sprayed m bycicle... When it looks good, it must be good?! Right?? The paint on engine might look good now, but when been running for some time it will flake of, and why not take of tyre before paint.. And what about getting the frame checked for straightnes?? I think a lot of theese i fixed my 1000 dollars porrsche and so on videos, makes me get the chills, many times people know nothing about what they do... But it looks great...most times..... But anyways, great efford in doing this honda...

Only thing I would do differently is tell people what kind of drill and sandpaper you used for us guys that don't have a clue what specific tools and what else to buy if we want to do something like this. I'd love to start doing this type of work for a living or even for a hobby and taking the time to say, "hey I'm using a xx# of grit on this part" would help us newbs out a lot.
Nice rebuild! I liked that you removed the covers and painted them, but you can color match the oem stuff pretty well and they definitely are not glossy. Also the rear axle was installed backwards!
Great job, strong work bringing this back. What paint and clear coat did you use? Also one minor thing, you put your rear axle in backwards, the threaded end with the nut should be on the Brake side of the wheel, It looks like it shouldn't do any harm but just fyi. thanks for posting this.
Paul Lucas The rear axle to my knowledge it shouldn’t effect it no matter which way it goes in, i did realize that I did swap sides I’ll make sure I put it in the way it’s designated by the manufacturer next time, And I used some paint at the auto parts store believe it was duplicolor. Thanks!

Some 1K products are designated by manufacturers to use directly on metal. It is dedicated for non representative parts, but it isn't professional. For full coat isolation by epoxy primer is required.
Thats a really good job. Just goes to show what you can do with a little paint and new fairings. I am looking to get a wrecked bike myself and do this. I love wrenching but have a new bike not much to do. Again good job.

But after every crash it is essential to measure main construction points, especially when vehicle is from aftermarket. Process of rebuild is descripted as measuring -> diagnosis -> range of repairs -> repair or regeneration -> repalce -> measuring after process (it is short version). So repalcing few covers is a part of rebuild, not full. I want You to know, that I don't say, that it was bad work in the video. It was good to see effet after such damaged parts, and vehicle looks amazing in the end.

Jason Bielecki I’ve been on motorcycles since I’m 7 never stop riding and almost never let anyone touch my bike I’ve done every repair that you can do on a motorcycle and never had to torque a engine cover, so maybe I’m lucky, I’ve rebuild the engine of an 2012 R6 2 years ago after a bad crash and the bike is perfect no striped bolts no cracked cases no oil leaks, I’ve just changed my cam shaft bearings in my Ducati 1100 again no leaks and no issues whatsoever. So I consider myself very lucky. With the Ducati I even learn that the clutch press does not need to be torqued and yes I’ve consulted a Ducati engineer because I did not find any specifications on the repair manual. So while you can make some sense you being a mechanic for over 20 years you know that it is not really needed. Any way respect to you and keep up the good work!!!
You put the rear axel in the wrong way around... And some other stuff your doing is just a bit sketchy. Wouldn't want to be buying that bike from you dude. Nice fixerupper if you are going to keep it, but if you're doing this for a profit than you're just half assing it... sorry mate
great job on the rebuild. It looks fantastic. couple of things I noticed you didn't do however. I would advise putting plumbers heat wrap on the inside of the mid and lower fairings. It will protect the fairings from the engine heat. Otherwise you will melt those fairings. Also you should use locktight on most of the screws you put on or they come loose over time. great job though. keep it up.
hedayatomid Yes I put heat shield on the inside of fairings I just didn’t show it, and Honda doesn’t recommend putting Loctite on bolts like the case covers so I don’t, I only put it on stuff that really needs it

If you watch his videos, you know its most cosmetic stuff replaces, because its often only cosmetics that gets destroyed when crashing

I rebuilt a 2006 ZX6r that was crashed by my brother. Sold it a couple years later for a brand new grom. Never looked back. 😊

Miguel Covas technically everything has a torque spec but the cases to me don’t really matter, I’ll torque to spec for what I think is important.
