Sunayama was caught during the filming of the N1 Grand Prix asking multiple women about this chip, so many people already knew he had dastardly motives before he unveiled himself.
DarkMan's chips also set up a hole, so that's probably a better option for setting one up than this chip since you can at least get an attack off with that. I know many people have said it already, but Bass GS doesn't require a Hole, which undermines the value of the Giga Chips that require Hole. I suppose it's somewhat balanced by the fact that it's an event chip, but even so it's a 700 damage field nuke with no set up required. The other Gigas do less than that but had to be saddled with this Hole mechanic? Every other game in the series has Bass chips without any drawback other than chip code. And Dark Aura is already a sketchy enough Giga Chip to use, given North Wind's existence, without having to tack on another stipulation.
Its particularly bad with the Earth Breaker bass since unlike the other offensive dark chips, its the most 1:1 outclassed for being a row check attack. Not going to be the last time event giga are busted tbf. BN4 Duo if released would be a clear cut SS+ Tier chip. BN6 Gregar and Falzar was also like S+ Tier giga. Im unsure if Chaos Lord was one, although its not as funny as Duo
BassGS doesn't actually need a Hole/DarkLicense. Man imagine being a kid and somehow getting a hold of BassGS only to be unable to use it without this lame chip.
SO THAT WHAT IT DOES?! I've played the MegaMan battle network 3 and four and thought this was a chip for show! thank you for telling me this and for making me feel less like someone who was in a fetal position in a corner saying to himself "Why is this a thing?!"
Wow this chip is so much worse than I thought. I’ve heard repeatedly that BassGS doesn’t actually require this chip, which sounds like a huge upside now given this chip is the most massive telegraph in pvp, super slow to actually activate in pve, and dark license is a huge navicust program.
I think the mechanic itself is cool, but the chips Hole allows to use should have more Oomph to them to justify its use. These gigas require either a second chip (hole/darkman) OR a chonky cust program to use in addition to the one giga chip slot, AND you need to use it in the small time frame the hole is active for. It's a very high price to pay regardless of which you choose, for a single chip.
The hole takes 5 seconds to activate and only stays active for a second and a half?? That's garbage. So not worth setting up for a single giga, let alone building a folder around.
It also lets ANYONE use the "hole Gigas", not JUST you. So can backfire badly. However there are other cards than Hole that can spawn darkholes, like DarkMan Navi chip.
I remember stepping on the Hole panel and it just disappeared. I can't remember if that's yet another one of its unwritten quirks, or if I just coincidentally stepped in it as it was about to disappear anyway. Either way, I just use Dark License whenever I want to see the cool Giga Chips.
Not my favorite design... I like the stuff that is conditional to things that don't exist only for it. Area stealing is good and then also let's you change the conditions for certain attacks. Actual holes interact with the game in many ways before even considering the chips that require them. Invis is a utility effect that'll be particularly effective with certain kinds of attacks that leave you vulnerable etc. There's also many ways to crack or break panels, and there's also the cool color point gimmick. This chip is just one-dimensional by comparison.
Also to clarify: For whatever reason, Bass GS does NOT require a dark hole to be active to use it. Maybe something to do with being exclusive idk.
This is the Banishing World chip right? Yeah it was event only
@@screwtokaiba It's vanishing world but banishing world goes hard too.
@@rayscene5887does Bass GS replace the other Bass chip?
@@bravewater5737 No, at least in the Legacy Collection.
@@bravewater5737 In the original gba games yes, it replaces the bass chip in your library with bass GS.
This vid is the hole package

I was expecting a hole lot more tbh
Bum-dum-tiss~

Light mega man: ugh Who left this hole here.
(steps on it like he’s putting out a cigarette but)
The hole gets blocked by holes.
Hey the bn4 interaction with LightKarma is like the HolyPanel interaction with DarkKarma
In BN4, DarkHoles also heal LaserMan, even if he wasn't the one who opened it.

BlueStar posted hole!!!!! for free!!!!
I agree the mechanic was pretty unnecessary

Combos with Goal G
Be-HOLE-d! The worst chip in the series!
Seriously, every other chip has something going for it. Not Hole.
Doesn't Dark Man leave a hole
No Holes on Hole Panels? That's a shame!
Me and my holes
Good🎉
This is an uncomfortable topic ..

Reminds me of my ex...
I prefer darkman and dont use the hole chip

You don't need Hole to use BassGS though?
I've been using BassGS without Hole just fine…
