Seeing the bag brought me back to my mom's mom that had cancer. i remember watching it fill up and her needing it to be changed out. i was sooooo young and she passed when i was young so this just brought me back. You are so strong girl, praying for you!!!!!!! ❤️ thank you for sharing this!!!!!

I’m so sorry you have to do this… and are going through this. I suffer from a chronic illness everyday.. but can’t imagine what you are going through. My prayers for daily patience and hope.
Glad that everything seems to have gone well during your chemo. The new tops that you bought for easy access certainly make it easy for the nurses to give you treatments. Certainly a lot of work to look after your colostomy. Who knew. We are all with you through your recovery!

Vanessa, I went through the same thing with anal cancer in 2006 and 2007. My chemo was two weeks with a port, illeostomy and 33 radiation treatments. I was in the hospital 5 times. The exhaustion was overwhelming! Watching you change your bag and seeing how much improvement is wonderful. You are so brave and doing an amazing job! Think of you often! You’ve got this!!!

Thank you, I did the six week radiation, almost three months with the bag, I went for the reversal two weeks ago and now is the burning, still horrible paint . Morfine and oxicone help a little. What a trip. Bless you girl

Your story has touched so many lives......including mine. I’m a nurse practitioner....but also a patient. I’m hooked up 24/7 to my feeding my tube, as well as I’m always hooked up to my central line for fluids, IVIG and meds. My backpack gets so heavy with two bags and 2 pumps.

Thank you for the transparency and sharing everything Vanessa. And you’re going to do AMAZING with school. I went back October 2019 after being out of college since 2002 and raising my kids. I spent a lot of time talking myself out of it, but I’m SO glad I kicked my own self in the butt, lol. I got my A.S. in CJ in February and I will be done with my B.S. in CJ next June. And I have kept my 4.0 the entire time. So if I can do it, you’ve got this❤️
You deserve all the praise, I commend your strength and bravery. I wish I had you to walk me through helping my mom with the ileostomy bags. After her reversal the intestine ruptured so they had to put the bag back on again, it was heartbreaking but you know what, she got through it. It feels never ending but one day soon this will all be a distant memory. Thank you for sharing your journey. I’m positive you are helping so many people out there going through the same thing. @@VanessaLPZ1 no, she originally got it 3 years ago. She also has colorectal, she’s been in remission and doing great. As will you be, soon! Unfortunately, this is our scary reality with all the pollutants and carcinogens. You just take it one day at a time, and next thing you know, you’re on the other end of it.

I can't imagine that it was easy to share that and your journey but I truly appreciate it. I was diagnosed with lupus two years ago and have been fearful sharing everything but it helps for people to see it. Do you find it theraputic to share? Stay strong, sis!

I'm so happy I found your channel! I have Crohn's Disease and was diagnosed with rectal cancer. I've learned so many tips from other patients, more info than the docs and nurses gave me. Chemo is optional right now, so watching your videos have really helped me see what my chemo journey might be like. You are strong & have such a positive attitude. I can’t believe how strong you are , so many people who complain about everything should have to watch your videos. I wanted to ask if you would have a reversal, but I don’t want to be rude. My daughter-in-law had a reversal after healing from having part of her bowels large and small removed. God Bless you for making goals and following through. My son's godmother was very dear to me, and I helped her with her colostomy bags when she was going through this process. It seems like they have really created better products for this... I remember her skin was always raw around the entry site. We lost her, 💔sadly, 5 years ago, but I want to wish you success and full recovery in your plight!
