Actually, I prefer this guy and his honest and relaxed approach. Listen to some of the other reviews he's done. Excellent voice, excellent approach and speed, but it's just not loud enough. Still, I have some normal sized computer speakers hooked up to this desktop and, when turned up a little, it wasn't silent at all. If this is called Aussie 'strine,' then I like it. He'd be an excellent story teller.
Ignoring all the stupid comments below, I like this design. If I had one of these to play with and explore or go fishing from, even I could get fit. Nice work. People Power for the win. Save petrol and get fit all at the same time. Good Stuff.
I hear it will be $4,600 and I think there will be a roller furled jib as an option at some point. this video dioesn't show the trampolines which are quite utilitarian.
I own the mirage oasis - didn't buy the electric motor - but we have pedaled it, paddled it and attempted to sail it. The sailing does not work well without pedaling as soon as you get a little wind - the boat lifts up and the pedals are not deep enough to act as a decent centerboard - the rudder also will be not very effective when you get any decent wind and have even a bit of angle. When I look for videos of Hobie kayak sailing - they are all pedaling - to create what Hobie calls "apparent wind". So don't get this if you are thinking of using it as a real sailboat. It is still incredibly fun and a great kayak - for pedaling and paddling alone.
Fantastic boat, well shot vid but you need to do something about the sound. In order to hear it I have to get my ear so close to the speaker that my nose is touching the screen
so what this guys is saying is the flippers that power this thing would appear to be an injured animal to a white pointer... thats a very calming thought...

Well I for one enjoyed listening to his laid-back Aussie drawl. However, until Hobie finally work out that they need to put their mirage drive on a decent hull, they'll never extract the full potential of the system.
I don't understand the the crazy complaining! The video is great and audio is soft but that is why there are volume controls on our computer. The audio is good information and the narrator is fine, this is a free video on youtube people. Get over yourselves and quit complaining.

Yeah - thats it - my speakers break whenever I try to listen to this - and then magically fix themselves when I listen to other youtube videos.
