@Yonky Lim There are many Dai ethnic dances that do use Dai ethnic attire. This is just one of her performances; I'm sure that she does wear Dai ethnic attire for other ones. This dress is not topless either. It simply is sleeveless, and for good reason, because the upper body requires a lot of mobility, which sleeves would restrict. Also, this dress is a very basic one piece cut that people wear to dance all the time, at this point it is not really European. This dress was also made to look similar to a white peacock.

watching this video left me in complete awe, so I can't even begin to imagine how breathtaking seeing it live must have been 😳😳😳 the mastery, the focus, the grace that doesn't conceal the sheer strength she deploys in this performance... truly the work of an artist AND an athlete My uncle used to keep peacocks in his garden, so, having spent some time around these birds, I can say this choreography perfectly capture how these creatures are both elegant delicate but quute fierce at the same time!

So happy to find this in HD, and with the nice soundtrack too. The camera zoom and angles could be better though. We miss a lot of the nuances of the dance in order to look at the fake eyelashes plastered on her eyelids, which really isn't necessary for us to see. Still, the overall dance makes up for it.
@@KateandBree There are other versions where that level of zoom was not necessary to see the dance of her hand, and the rest of her body, which is also integral to the dance, is not completely out of frame, or is edited in a way that the viewers don't feel like we're missing out on the context. Those videos aren't even HD and this is still possible, so just a little bit disappointed that this video, which IS in HD, felt it was necessary to detract from that front. I realize it's hard to please everyone though, and the camera is no substitute for a live performance in person.
