Nice review. I just got the BR 800 C-E. It is heaver than the X. But with the waist belt it is manageable. They do have a lot of blowing power. Lol. My first uses was to blow the old compacted leave that were in the ditches along the driveway. Worked great. Now I will be able to keep the leave at bay this Fall. And maybe blow light snow off the driveway.

Very good to hear! It definitely has good power for leaves. I’ve used mine in the snow and it was a fun experience! 😄 Thanks for watching!

So there’s not point in buying the BR700 since they both have the same CFMs and this one also has higher MPH?

Yes, the higher MPH will help move debris farther. The 800 also has a bigger fuel tank for longer runtime.

    Isn't the 800 a 4 cycle ?

Stihl terms it as a “4 Mix”. It has some of the internal components of a 4 cycle, to add more power, but still uses 50:1 gas/oil mixture. Which means it’s still considered a 2 stroke engine.

@@matthewsmowing it is a four stroke engine meaning it fires every 4th stroke which makes it more gas efficient than a 2 stroke which fires every 2nd stroke. The fact that it uses oil in the gas makes it unique and still considered 2 stroke for it’s oiling principles. So I guess it is kind of both. Nice informative video so thanks for making it.

Much like the Stihl Kombi KM-131R power head, it's a 4 stroke that still uses a 50:1 premix. Instead of having a wet sump setup, like a lawnmower, it lubricates via fuel mix. The best part of the entire setup is getting close to 4 stroke power with lighter weight while still using the same fuel for everything. I own the Kombi setup with a pruner saw, brush blade, and hedge trimmer attachments. And I can still use the same fuel for my tiny string trimmer. Getting used to the weight took some time, but the versatility of the unit has more than paid for itself. Just picked up a BR-800 C-E and it fits my need for a strong blower for 2-1/2 acres. First experience with using the blower today was phenomenal.
