(Set the button click to 1 or something, your pyroblast button, and click it like you do when playing wow).
Obviously if you get 5 button clicks per second, it means your click speed is every ~200ms

I am not sure why some people are misunderstanding so let me be clear:
200 + Ping is a MINIMUM. It means you do NOT go below it EVER NO MATTER WHAT. It does NOT mean you set it to 250. LEAVE IT AT 400 IF ITS 400.
THIS IS TARGETTED FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE IT BELOW THE MINIMUM, LETTING THEM KNOW TO INCREASE IT.
IF YOU HAVE IT AT 400 LEAVE IT AT 400
IF YOU HAVE IT AT 400 LEAVE IT AT 400
IF YOU HAVE IT AT 400 LEAVE IT AT 400
IF YOU HAVE IT AT 400 LEAVE IT AT 400
IF YOU HAVE IT AT 400 LEAVE IT AT 400
IF YOU HAVE IT AT 400 LEAVE IT AT 400
So if I’m understanding right, if I have 60 ms I would set it to 260? Or would I bump it up higher slightly
@@PatSnowTV Well what is it set to right now
@@Forgyy I'm rocking 400 on wow classic, I know you mentioned not to change it from 400. But I have yet to test it out to see if theres any breaks in between spell queues.
@@PatSnowTV lowering it makes the problem worse if there is one. So keep at 400
Im playing at 35ms ping. Would I want to set it to 400ms anyways for good fire mage gameplay? @@Forgyy
You're amazing man!. I just looked at logs and seen gaps between spells, checked, and my spellque was set to 50!!! Must of did it long time ago lol. putting back up made a huge difference with no gaps between spells. Appreciate you!
That's the best video on how Spell queue window works in Wow I've ever seen in all my 15years playing this game. Thanks.
Thank you mate - great Info ❤
Hell yea. Great video! I will feed my guild with that amazing news about that.
Thanks alot man! Useful video as always. When will we see a m+ focused fire video? Maybe also some talk about the nerfs impact on what talents to run from next reset.
Hey =) m+ is hard to make a video about because it requires me to play keys on mage which isnt something i do often =( its defo something i want to get to tho. An easy explanation is to just say to replace pyroblast to flamestrike and simple stuff like using meteor in combust
As for the nerfs, will have to wait til after the reset to have a great idea of whats happening but as of rn its hard to judge for AoE. For ST fire still is insanely strong
fire video once again
Easy to understand and to the point. Insta subbed.
I saw this, checked my spell queue window and it's apparently been 260 for awhile now.
Now, I'm usually 50ms, so this isn't bad, but I bumped it up to 400 just to see if I can tell a difference. Interesting stuff.
yup, 400 for me by default. I always knew all of this, everything that you said, but couldn't pin point what that is :D But yeah, on 400, especially on fire, it sometimes gets clunky and you start casting pyro when you don't want but that's why fire mages usually jump when they are casting - so you interrupt your spellcast if it happens by accident (became bigger problem when I started playing with ice floes) :D
Helpful video, you mentioned that any spell cast during the spellque window will clear the previous spellque, does that also happen on fireblast? IE. I am hardcasting pyro, spellque a firebolt and after spellqueing the firebolt i instacast the Fireblast during the spellque window, should the firebolt still go or is it "cleared" by the fireblast
Thank you so much for this guide! My default spell queue was set to 87(idk why) and after using the formula ping + 200 I've never missed my scorch + IB -> pyro again.
If you are still having trouble potentially or experience some gaps try going higher, but im glad to hear youve found some success. Higher is always better if you can tolerate it, but for some it feels bad even though practically its the same/more safe
Huh, this is a perspective I never considered. I always naively assumed that I was fast enough with my button mashing that it'd always link up with the next GCD. Just checked my own log when I played arcane last patch and there's frequent 100-150ms gaps between my spellcasts. Here I thought I was already 'skill-capped' settings wise lol - massively useful info man, thanks.
Quite ironic how noticeable of a setting this is for the player's performance, yet it was removed from the base UI settings and requires an addon to even be aware of the feature. Classic Blizzard.
Blizzard removed it because they dont want players changing it from default. If you leave it at default its great, but people mistakenly lower it
@@Forgyy Now that I think about it, default spellQ window is set to like 200ms, right? I had mine manually set to 50ms because I also had the misassumption mentioned in the video regarding queueing up different abilities during the spellQ window. So I guess I played myself there hah. Although I also did have the "overqueue" issue from having my spellQ window set too high by default. Still, this vid is a god-send. Quickly scoured through the log I mentioned and I would've gained at least 2-3 extra AB casts during that fight alone.
50ms window is unreal, jeez@@QPoily
Thanks man, never Knows this
While on bl i always missing spells a lot its happen only on bl and raid i have no issue while training st to dummies with bl, also i overuse my pf and blast do you have any recommendation to improve my gameplay with bl
Perfect video thank you for this minmax..
I wanna ask if this is implemented on istant cast as is Arcane barrage or explosive ..
my problem is when I go into big haste and I am in filler rotation after big burn.. sometimes I que 2t imes arcane barrage instead of arcane explosion.. co I am wasting time with 0 stacked arcane barrage.. is there any chance how to setaup it to not queing second arcane barrage? would help a lot
Struggling with the same thing :/
very good video ty
@Forgyy When you say "MINIMUM", does that mean we should make it higher? Like I have 50 ping so based on the video 250 min, should I make it 300 to air on the safe side as not mess up queing? or based on your statement 6 days ago, I should "LEAVE AT 400" ? *grin*, really great video but seriously, I really want to know the answer.
yes, as in you should have it at 250 or higher. To air on the side of safety would be to put it on 400, and if you really want to and feel the difference you can lower it but never below the minimum
@@Forgyy ty ty
What if I play with 250 ping? I can't put it more than 400 in spellque right? And if I have ~200 ping I make it 400 in spellque?
I have been wondering why damage was shite. This makes so much sense. Will see what a difference it makes in tonight's raid. 🙂
this add 50K dps to my class :D ur a god sent
hello thank you for great video. i am playing fury warrior, my in game latency(world) is usually 70ms. how can i find the ideal spellque ms ? i set it 250 as you do even that felt better than 400
As long as youre above 250-270 (assuming ur 70ms) you should be fine, higher is better but if it feels bad u can go lower but its purely placebo feeling but defo dont go lower than 250
Thanks nice video I have a question does this change for fast melee classes like fury? I sometimes feel when having 400ms that I cancel attacks by spamming keys too fast?
Nope, the same concept applies for melees too and healers as well. Auto attacks are not cancelled by casting spells in WoW!
@@Forgyy I usually got like 7-8 ping i feel like i cant go above 150 im its just keeps queueing up the wrong spells if im above 150 on my balance havent got a problem with 207 but with fury i feel like i need to be closer to 100
@@schmobbit5554 If you do not queue the correct spell its because youre playing it slower. Increased spell queue does not make you lag or anything like that. As explained in the video youre just reacting or pressing too slow, its more to do with you than the setting.
If you were to lower your spellqueue and instead you have more time to react, its because the extra time you get is time where your character is AFK not casting anything, resulting in a DPS loss.
Stick to the 200 + ping rule as a MINIMUM for sure. Ideally should be on 400.
If you do not queue the correct spell its because youre playing it slower. Increased spell queue does not make you lag or anything like that. As explained in the video youre just reacting or pressing too slow, its more to do with you than the setting.@@Forgyy usually you would be correct but in this situation he is pressing to fast (understandable being fury warrior lowest gcd out there its basically press what glows ) so in this situation you would want a lower spell window
you keep saying in multiple comments of your just reacting to slow or fast and pressing to fast too slow but that is preicicly why the spell queue window is there to counter that to remove as much (artificial error) as possible 15+ years spell queue window videos have been put up and you are the very first guy i have seen say 200+ the standard rule is 100+ your ping always has been
Well Im sorry to tell you that you have been misinformed. There is no such thing as pressing too fast because if you press too fast and queue an ability, and then press ANOTHER ability BEFORE the cast goes off, you will CHANGE the queued spell. There is a lot of misinfo around spellqueue and thats why youve been mislead. Every high end player plays with more than 200 for sure. Usually 300-400 @@itsnay7382
So if my ms is 35, would I put SQ on 250 ms, or would it be better to have it on 400? I'm a clicker, so I hit all my abilities rapidly
Nice vid
Oh, ineteresting
If I played with a ping of 53-70 (70 rises in rare cases), then usually the ping is around 53-56. how much set?
is the adjustment based off an approximation of 200+ home ping or world ping?
whichever one is higher i suppose, usually they should be pretty similar. Note this is a MINIMUM. You can go higher
is this setting applied to every character or we should set it for all of them aswell ?
it applies account wide
Are you using trufigcd on the stream or is that a aura?
its an aura wago.io/cWI3bhMz2 can check for gaps in your logs too instead.
hallo mate , i just watched all of the vidio , and my spell que is 120 , and my latency is 25 home and world , how much i need to level my spell que ? 200 , 250 ? how to know what is the right for me
the lowest you should have it is 250, but try 400 first especially if you press spells slower
I've tried so many different spell que windows but no matter what there is a like 0.3 seconds where my gcd stops rolling. Playing frost dk only hitting obliterate to test. I can spam the button or only hit it once but no difference :/
If your spellqueue is max (400) then that should help the most, other than that its just pressing buttons fast enough
so if i play with 170ms should i set it to 350-370? Could you share the WA of your casting bar?
Yup if you are at 170ms you should set it to 370 minimum, up to 400. I'd just set it to 400 cuz its a minor difference and usually with higher ping its more reliable to go a bit higher.
My castbar WA is in my discord channel pinned in my weakaura channel ^^
@@Forgyy Last question, are you referring to home or world latency?
@@eduergo08 Whichever is higher
Does it make a difference if I "Cast Action Keybinds on key Down" one off or on?
never tried turning it off that would bee very weird if its off. Surely you want things to cast when u press a button not when u let go of it lol
@@Forgyy perfect thank you ;)
Ty for this video.
Guess what my spell q was 70! My ping is about 150😅😂
its so uncomfortable below 400, i really dont get the appeal to lowering it when the queued spell updates if you change it within the window
If youre at 400 stay at 400, the advice to be any lower is for people who are already on too low latency. There is no real gained advantage to lowering other than placebo "feels better". The pinned comment has more info on this :)
Umm.. my default UI doesnt have the same options. How? Can I change my lag tolerance?
I literally go over it in the video and the commands are in the description x) 9:00
The options is an addon but you can do it without the addon as explained
@@Forgyy Well you forgot to mention that in your TLDR thats why he got confused
How about: is non-instant pyro replaced by fire blast (which is castable while casting other spells) during qwindow?
no, fire blast is counted "separately" from everything else, whenever you press fire blast it just happens there is no queueing involved or anything and it wont replace queued spells.
so if i play with 35 World MS should i set it to 235?
You should set it to 400. If it feels bad, you CAN lower it bit by bit til it feels better/decent but NEVER below 235.
The "feels bad" part is purely placebo, but in my experience if you have it at 200 + ping you still dont have gaps so its an option probably, but 400 first is recommended
I don't even play retail nor watch it still got this recommended by youtube. That's even more interesting than blizzard implementing useful mechanics in their nowadays version. Gonna check whether this is in classic as well as it runs on modern client. My cast bar addon showed me such a delay bar but idk if it was active.
Appreciate what you're saying about "misinformation" but until I lowered my queue from the default of 400, I was routinely accidentally double ice lancing before 10.1.5.
That is because you are reacting too slow then. The time you gain to "react" with lower spell queue is actually time where your character is instead AFK. Learning to improve your performance with higher spell queue is the best way to go because you will then reach perfect casting.
Otherwise, you will be casting spells with gaps in between. Lowering can satisfy some placebo effect (like I have it) but once again DO NOT GO BELOW 200 + PING or you will have gaps 100%
How can you make this video and not mention the add-on you are using to adjust it?
you can see the name in the first 20s of the video xd and the mentioned commands are in the description
@@Forgyy watching on my phone a can't read that 😆
So at 33 ms i should just stick to 200 or what?
250 atleast probably. Ideally 400. Not lower than 250.
press the correct buttons guys pretty much it
I think this is a good video to avoid people from having 400ms or to have less than 100 but for me I've always done 100+ my ping and it has always worked wonderfully anything too above on really high haste just doesn't give me the results I want and from playing arcane/frost and still achieving rank 1s and having no gaps I think it's better than anything above 250+ but that's my experience anyways, like from me
can u update this. i cant find this setting in game as a new player
its an addon or the script in the description mate, nothing in the game changed
@@Forgyy thanks
i dont know bro kinda seems of for me, i have a ping of 20ms and my que window is set to 51. I'm doing around 50k dps more then when i set it to 400 or to 280 or to 200 etc (Ret Pala btw)
you are doing something off then. I guarantee you, if you are having it that low, you are missing out one cast every 5-7 seconds which is A LOT. the only way youre not missing casts is if you are pressing a button 30 times in 1 second (which is 30ms per button click). Feel free to link a log and I can prove the argument
@@Forgyy okay got u but why does it feel sooo much better (smoother) i hate the feeling of lag when i press spells with 400ms
@@invfamouzz731 when your spell queue is higher, and youre spamming ur keys, if you spam for too long and then try to swap, it can feel unresponsive and it feels like lag.
The issue is, if you are spamming for too long, and then swap to a different key, the game lets you change the spell that is queued up if you swap early enough. Any time you cast the wrong spell, then that means if your spell queue was lower, youd be AFK in that time instead.
@@Forgyy Okay so i should just leave it at 400ms even if im a spammer and i mean like Crazy spammer?
@@invfamouzz731 practically speaking, 400 is not worse than anything else, but if it feels bad, you can lower it to anything ABOVE 200 + ms. But do note that the "feeling" is just placebo, and lowering it increases r isk of afk time, but it should be very minimal/non existent as long as youre 200+MS atleast (try to round up as well in general)
Addon name for setting?
Advanced Interface Options
Keep in mind that proc classes , specifically like enhancement shaman, favors lower sqw because of last minute procs. If u have 250 or 300 and have queued up a lightning bolt but get a last minute storm strike proc(u wanna press ss no matter what) with low sqw u cant switch and press ss, but with higher sqw u cant swap.
Thats not really true though. You can replace queued spells just by pressing them. The phenomenon where you experience you not being able to swap is because you started the press too late.
In the event you lower your spell queue and successfully get the proc off as opposed to not fast enough, you would instead have a gap between your spells.
This is not a game setting by BLIZZARD that can be changed TOS VIOLATIONS VIDEO REPORTED
yes you can change it from blizzard options iwth no addons and its not anti-ToS lol and reporting videos on youtube has nothing to do with blizzard
