not even joking, playing with a GTX 3090, struggling in ashran with 15fps -.- gone to 165 everywhere with half of these settings, particularly the SSAO disabled....and using direct 12, insane, thanks man!
"Turn everything off and the game will run better". Sure, and it'll also look like shit. This is gimping fidelity for framerate. I never understood this.
Fixed my crash issues, and I had really low graphics settings to begin with. Need a companion video where you dont explain it all an djustd go through the settings.
What would you say is the most important setting or settings to tone down if the only place I'm seeing a noticeable framerate drop in the Dragon Isles is while Dragonriding?
There's definitely some stuff in here that is just not really accurate. Low latency more for example does not impact performance for 99% of people. You'd have to have a weird setup for reflex to negatively impact fps. Also protected textures is 100% unnecessary and can significantly impact fps.
Pretty sure the core game only runs at 60fps regardless of how many frames your computer is able to push. So set up the game so it never drops below 60fps in the most intense areas like say the boss room in alterac valley. Then simply lock your max frame rate to 60 and bam butter smooth no tearing no stutters no vsync/gsync needed because you never drop below 60fps and the game is capped at 60. As long as your monitor is capable of 60 fps it doesn't matter if it is a higher refresh rate monitor because it is only receiving 60fps signal. Gsync/vsync can cause input latency and that's what you don't want. You can get the game looking very good never dropping below 60fps with a mid range pc. 😉 Don't let that pesky gsync get in the way of your perfectly timed leap out of the fire in raid.
If you are able to hold 120fps in all situations like raiding and 40 man battle grounds for example and the game still looks pretty sure go ahead. But I would wager most people have mid range to high mid range pc's. That means they are not capable of holding those frames with medium to high settings and are relying on gsync or vsync to smooth out the jumps and dips in frame rates. This process can affect command response time from when you press the key or click the mouse to when the pc registered that click and then sent it to the server. So are you better off with a locked in 60 fps that never dips or jumps with no gsync or vsync needed while still maintaining mid to high settings? Or getting as much fps as you can that's never stable without background processes that slow input commands and your game looks like a turd? Wow is very old and was built to run at 60fps. It looks great at 60fps with no help from background processes. Unless you are running a super high end pc do yourself a favor and take my advice this isn't csgo pro championships and if it was those players never use gsync for the reasons stated above.
Pretty awesome how many settings there are in this game I still remember back in the day your graphic setting was maybe five to eight buttons that actually made a difference
Just leave it on default then, those extended settings are for people who want to experiment and minmax to get better perfomance on worse computers @@DontrelleRoosevelt
Wow! Fantastic video man! I got an extra 20 FPS in Val and went from roughly 100FPS to 249FPS while questing in other zones and the game still looks and feels great!! Thank you!
Im tired of screen tearing i have 60hz monitor & nvidia not sure what to set in 3d or ingame to fix this. gtx 1060 6gb - fx8350 -16 gb ram. Vsync adaptive, fast, half?
wow. I live in the country and have to use a wifi jet pack for internet. For years i've had FPS issues, averaging 30-40 fps and avoid major cities at all costs due to extreme lag issues. While this doesnt completely fix some issues, its a 1000x better than how it was running before. My FPS has jumped to an average of 130-140 FPS! and it still looks great. I'm totally amazed! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! UPDATE: After going to differnet zones, i notice my fps now averages between 150-180! The increase i received has literally been a game changer! ❤
hi i know the video is a bit older etc. but i still have 2 stupid questions :D 1. nothing else was said about the low latency mode, why did you deactivate it ingame and did you say you wanted to go into it later? 2. why is the resample sharpness on your left side 0.2 and on my right side 0.2 :D
low latency mode disabled is definitely not something you should use. if you have an nvidia GPU, everyone should use Reflex without exception (do not use the Boost option though).
well, the unfair advantage is that most people DON'T tune graphics for visual clarity. people just set their shit to 1 and play runescape on a $1000 machine
The video helped but i have the same graphics card as you and my fps is still shit now in dragonflight, u probably got a better pc than me if we don't look at graphics card but i just wanted to ask, great day :)

With this set up i have problem when use bl in raid Mithic 20 player Hero 30, i play with 44 dps and this is so frustating coz my guild friend with 1070 play with so much fps....

Honestly I don't know but I would try starting with low settings. If not do you use an Nvidia video card? You can use the geforce experience app and under the details section of wow you can use that program to optimize the settings.
with the graphics card he has following his setting sare useless it would be great for a low end graphics card to a point but not having vrs on and not having low latency on you would be gimpign yourself even more and putting added stress on a low end graphics card. what i dont get is why usign a 3080 he would run on such low settings O.O
I figured it out on the part where you select your graphics card it’s at auto selected and an option for your graphics card every time I chose my exact graphics card instead of leaving it at auto selected it would freeze so 😂took me like 4 or 5 times to realize that I had to go through each individual setting to see what was causing the game to freeze so if anyone else goes through this make sure they leave it at auto selected instead of getting annoyed like I did but those settings are awesome and helped thank you for the video! This is the original guy who asked about it freezing was on my other TH-cam channel.
If I don't set my graphics card "xfx rx6700rx" graphics to low, the fans work very loudly, my processor is "amd readon 5600" screen 2k, will it work properly and silently if I adjust this display for this system? The world and reid are very busy with the bosses, will your settings work?
look into undervolting your gpu. the fans working hard also might be due to hw your s are wired. if they are all plugged into a fan controller into the cpu _fan header the motherboard will spin up all of the fans as if they are the cpufan. you need the case fans in their own fan header on mobo. tune curve in BIOS
But it increase input lag. If you experience lag, you should disable this. New monitors/graphic cards nowadays have options to cap refresh rate without input lag anyways.

Damn, thanks. Returned to WoW recently and was shocked to be at 90 fps with a 3080. Copied this and went from 90 to 230, rarely go below 220. Appreciate it! In case anyone sees this and wonders why I got such a dramatic improvement; my resolution scale was set to 200, RTX was on and everything was maxed out.
Amazing, you earned a sub my man! you bumped me from about 100 fps on a 1440 ultrawide to about 250 fps 😂
That's huge! Glad I could help
What’s your screen refresh rate?
The fps cap in the ui seems to not work since 10.1. also its wow, a potato could run this game.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The whole point of fps is to match your monitor hz. So that is your goal, not capping it to 60!

huge extra 60 FPS out of it
spell density should be essential as you will miss important spells to avoid
