I'm really glad it was completely a non issue for Kathy though, from these scenes you could tell her and Ben had a really close bond when he was a little boy (and that bond seemed to reconnect with them both pretty fast). Broke my heart when Ben said "mum" and Kathy said "my baby". Such powerful and emotional scenes . To be honest, I wish Kathy was my mom (not that I have anything against me own mom).
I feel bad for ben because all these years he thought Kathy was dead until she returned and she even missed out the part that Ben was abused by Stella bullied and always been attacked and even hung over Walford bridge by Martin Fowler in 2007
As I watch this video, I just can't forgive the producers for recasting Ben Mitchell. Not only was Harry Reid perfect but the chemistry between he and Gillian Taylforth was just 👌🏻

Another thing about Ben's character that has changed is his love relationship. Ben treated Paul and Johnny much better than he has ever treated Callum for the entirety of their relationship. Pam (though not initially) and Les both loved Ben whereas Stuart and Rainie (and also Vi) hate him.
@Mr Doctors13 Stuart may not hate Ben as much as he did at first now but that’s only because of Ben and Callum being an item. Secretly Stuart (and also Rainie) still doesn’t like Ben all that much but he let it go for Callum. Stuart and Rainie basically tolerate Ben rather than like him. After all people pretend a lot to keep the ones they love happy. Most people in a lot of families in real life don’t all like each other all that much after all.
Looks wise this Ben was the most like Ben when he first came back from South Africa after Kathy 'died'. I also prefer this Ben to the one they have now.

This Ben Mitchell overacts terribly in emotional scenes, it's cringeworthy. To be honest we've never had the right actor to play Ben Mitchell. The original Ben was whiny, albeit unintentionally hilarious (YOU NEED SLAPPING DAHN!). The second Ben was an OK actor but was fugly and had a punchable looking face. This new Ben is also an OK actor but whenever he does a shouting scene or any scene that requires emotion, he OVERACTS. It's annoying.
