The really eerie part about watching this 10 years later is (SPOILER ALERT) how Abbie & Lola are both dead, Ben is in prison indefinitely (written out, essentially), and Johnny has only just returned to the Square after several years absent. Only Jay is the same and still appearing as a consistent character.
When they announced a Carter Child returning I kinda wanted it to be Johnny just to see how him and Ben would get on now - especially with Ben in a committed relationship, and Max Bowden as Ben (who, imho, is the best Ben actor - he's a decent balance of Mitchell and Beale, you can see his trauma and how he compensates for it in most of his scenes) Also as Callum grew up around the Carters seeing him and Johnny would have been good too. Alas it's Nancy (without Tamwar sadly) maybe in the future they'll bring Johnny back, although I prefer the one in this clip, not the other one.
Bullshit, bullshit, and bullshit! Now I liked Ben as he was when he left for France (despite shouting a lot), he was a well rounded character with his friendship with Jay, getting on well with his family, living out of Phil's shadow, etc. Now he's a selfish, evil git and you lot are so blinded by him!
Awwwww💕💕💕 I thought that was so sweet with Ben and Johnny but I think it's better with Sam Strike than the new guy (Ted Reilly) not saying he's bad I just felt more of a connection between Ben and Johnny when he was played by Sam
Everyone has always maintained that Sam Strike made a poor Johnny Carter, and that he thought it was beneath him to act in a soap or play gay but needed a foothold in the TV world so took the part anyway. Looking back on the tapes, I really don't see that--here he looks in his element performing well. I believe that he's a young, awkward, newly out teen with a confusing crush on the local delinquent. And the chemistry between Strike & Harry Reid really crackled, so I don't know why their romance s/l never went anywhere, but I doubt it was purely because of Strike's alleged reluctance.
@@l0ndon429 I don't think there are too many but Phil is getting on my nerves at the moment due to this sheanu shit and ropping Ben into it by using emotional abuse yet again so I just want him to handle it himself
The storyline this version of Johnny had before this one was an outright gay/bi affair where he was kissing another male. If he hated it that much and was ashamed, he would have quit the role a year or two earlier than he did, or turned it down altogether.
@@pendafen7405 money and fame is intoxicating and people are willing to do anything to get rich quick. Why did he leave eventually!!! Why is he alway red and flustered. When the scene where he comes out to his dad mick he is sooooo red. Its hard to watch. Some people use previous roles as a stepping stone for what they think they will get in the future eg better future roles on tv. I can imagine his manager told him "become a gay icon and you will be in people's hearts" and be staple on TV. That's how you become so body in TV by becoming infatuated by groups of people in this case gay fan base. I'm not judging.
Love Ben casually flirts with Johnny
They could have done so much more with these two characters.
100% - I view that Ben and Callum is what Ben and Johnny would have been with some better story planning.
@@elliotjohnson9415 The Johnny and Steven Beale storyline never took off either.
Why can’t Abi get that Ben is gay and she can’t change him no matter how hard she tries
Dean Winchester 2 yrs later, she knew. ben asked her to help him so she came up with a fake pregnancy.
@@nidamxya Abi is just really dim. She is so dumb, it's actually quite tragic.
Also - and I probably should have mentioned this first - thank you for uploading! I've been looking for this story!
"Full of useful tips"
Johnny just looks at him like
Oh i bet you are
Harry Reid was the best Ben and Sam strike was the best Johnny
Periodt! They shouldn’t have changed them
The new Ben is awful and they should never have replaced Sam Strike.
Kev L honestly they make big mistakes all the time

Johnny was well happy but that u could see his face at the end

I can see the date in the title, but what year is this?
2014
Hallie Hurst Thank you!!
I find it really annoying when the year isn't mentioned anywhere so I was glad to help.
What was the title of Aretha track #2?
Let's hope the rumours of Johnny dying is wrong and these too finally get together
No callum
@@nicolepoppy9230 :D Callum!

Yeah he does as a best friend /sister and mother of his kid but nothing romantic.
Cook?
Snobby abi compesh
Johnny always looks embarrassed with his red ears and cheeks, it's like he is embarresed playing a gay character
