Al Paccino, Marlon Brando, Robert D Neiro, Tom Hanks, Nasseruddin Shah, Irfan Khan, Mammootty, Kamal Hassan, Thilakan, Sivaji Ganesan, Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddeen, DiCaprio, Morgan Freeman etc etc are among them. If a person can do 80 out of 100 roles, he enters the league.
Die hard fan of Mohanlal and considers him one of the greatest actor of Indian Cinema. Though, I do not understand Malayalam and so many times has to wait for subtitles or Hindi dubbing, but still miss no chance to watch his superb acting skills. For me, he is a national treasure way above any north-south difference.

The fact that, if the North Indians didn't over power the jury, he would have won a lot more awards is so TRUE. I used to hate this guy called Mohan maama, till I saw his master piece #Drishyam , this movie changed my perception towards Malayalam cinema. After that I have seen more than 45 Laletan's cinema's and nearly 200 other actors cinema's. I would also like to tell, I liked an other movie Munnariyippu. But not comparing anyone here. Both are at their own league. Now I say myself that I am a Laletan's fan.

Anand S Kumar It's not the matter of replacing Mohanlal, rather it is about making a comeback for himself as his movies right now are not that great compared to his old movies. If a re-entry happens, I believe Mohanlal would be able to produce more great acts in the future and that's what all of us want to see as his fans and movie lovers.
Actually he is making good movies even now like Drishyam,but the thing is that it happens rare.He don't want to act award like films.He is looking for entertaining films than a more storyful film.Now no such movies are made like in 90's.Even now Peoples expect more from a "Lalettan Movie".
