I have been doing yoga for a long time. I just blew out my elbow doing chatarunga. I have watched 3 videos on proper technique. This one, by far, was the clearest description. Thankyou so much. When I get better I have to really slow down and work out proper technique.

Thank you Cathy. I’m in between 65 and 70 yo. teacher, 😁and come from old yoga school where you learnt doing poses day after day, from long practice, and we were lacking on explaining “how to..”. What a beautifully crafted video, I'm so excited to work through these. As a newly qualified yoga teacher, I feel very conscious that I am still unable to do a full push up into chaturanga. I intend to follow your guidance & do the reps three times per week, I've never seen it broken down like this. I'm so grateful.

I have had pain in my wrist for the past few years doing yoga and no one fellow yogi could explain what I was doing wrong. I used the band around my arms and that alleviated some of the strain on my wrist but my left hand still shfts towards the pinky side. I figure if I keep practicing and maybe it would change but I thank you for this informative video!

what would you recommend as a substitute for chaturanga during a flow, while one is still in the strength building process? Just skip the pose or should one try to do one of the variations you showed in this tutorial?

I would take it modified with knees down during practice and then, practice these drills in sets a few times a week to build strength!
