- Hey Tomodachis,
this is my life reaction moving into my new apartment in Japan. I'll be living here for at least a year as Japanese Language student. What do you think of the apartment? Let me know in the comments.

bro gets the keys from the 501 PO box, then proceeds to try and enter 505 =))
They call me baka 😂
I was about to comment the same thing and I saw yours 😂
The front door is a genkan. And your grill is a fish grill, not a oven. You have to add water to the bottom of the grill before you grill fish. And you can toast a slice of bread if you like.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Wow!!! What a nice apartment for only $400!!! It might be on the smaller side, but that just makes it cute and cozy. It even has a kitchenette and bathroom, what a good deal! I'm traveling to Japan next year, and considering moving there permanently, after watching your video I feel like it's a little bit more "doable" now. Thank you for posting this, and I hope you're feeling happy and at home in your new diggs. 😊😊😊
Thanks for your comment. Yes I wa slickly with my apartment, but also keep in mind I’m in Fukuoka which is cheaper then places like Tokyo,Kyoto etc. you are moving to Japan ? Exciting!! Wish you all the best.
@bernoGarcia Thank you! 😊 Yeah, I'm probably gonna have to get creative with where I relocate, Tokyo, Kyoto ect... are fashionable and exciting, but also super expensive for cost of living from what I've been told. Finding a place that's affordable that will rent to foreigners is going to be quite an adventure, lol! But, nothing worth anything is ever easy. 😊😊😊
@@MikiTheKat...InaHatsometimes I used “best estate Japan” (just Google it) they helped me get an apartment from abroad. Great service and all in English. Will cost you like two rents thou. Good luck
@@MikiTheKat...InaHatsometimes I have a family friend that lives in japan! I go back and forth on if I would ever move to japan. I can tell somethings are a culture shock But they probably think the same about our culture.
Good luck and make sure your do your research and don't be afraid to ask questions.
@@Sasskitten wow great you get to go to Japan so often. What’s your favorite place in Japan ?
That little vertical window is the arrow hole for shooting arrows at trespassers coming up to your castle.
I hope I don’t have to go that far 😅😅
man's gotta be carefull even in Japan
@@berkekaan9118 hahah , nah the only thing passing my windows is pigeons sometime 😂😂
Congratulations on your new digs! The apartment looks great.
Thanks man. Appreciate the comment. Once everything is furnitured,I’ll make an update
Lots of buildings will not have a fourth floor or apartments that end in 4. It will skip from 103 to 105. Four is considered bad luck. The word four sounds the same as the word for death.
Yes have heard about it .crazy
Really? My luck number is 4 lol I guess I will never go to Japan.
Will possibly be moving there eventually and learning from your video.
Great are you moving to Fukuoka too ?
Lovely, nice and roomy. Was the power on?
I just had to turn on the main switch
Oh mate - if that other tenant in 505 came out while you were trying to enter would have been class haha
Great video bud 🙋🏽♂️
At the same time it would have brought more spice into the video 😂😂 thanks for the comment
That's a very premium apartment. Quite so far.
Yes love it too
It is spotless clean❤
Not anymore 😂😂 gotta clean the place 🧽 🧹
That kitchen is giant for Japan and it looks so good in general! :D
Thanks for the comment. Yeah I’m pretty happy with it
That’s big for Japan.
Yes I’m very happy with the size
The vlog is super nice 😂 Best of luck Bernardo!
Happy to see a comment from you Bensu. Thank you . 😊
$400 for that apartment is awesome! They even had a bathtub! Awesome 😂
Yes I am also super happy with it. But don’t forget water, electrify, wifi, community fee is all extra . So I end up paying like 500$.
@@bernoGarciastill.super cheap
What part of Japan are you?
@@MysticChick Fukuoka (Kyuushu)
Perhaps it's because of the cheap yen right now.
I like your vlog! Hope you have a good time in Japan☀️💯I can’t wait to go there one day. Seems like such an interesting country. Greetings from new sub in Norway
Thanks for the support. What city you wanna go to ?
@@bernoGarcia I would love to visit Tokyo, Osaka and maybe a couple of small towns/rural countryside places I’ve seen in Japanese dramas (it looks so pretty there and I'm loving the vibe)🤗 It's probably a good idea for me to learn a bit more Japanese though..Especially outside the big cities. I don't know how I'll get by only speaking English there🤔That’s a concern of mine. Hopefully I’ll be okay in Tokyo and Osaka. I’m looking forward to following your journey in Japan here on YT 🌸🇯🇵
For $400 you did really well, great pad. Did you notice the little window with a triangular shelf? Nice.
Yes it has become like my night table 😂😂love it. Keep in mind it’s 400$ without utilities and internet thou. It ads up ti around 500$
$400 is an amazing price. I hope your settling in and met a few neighbours. The first month is the worst, once you get over that it’s plain sailing. Good luck
Thanks for the comment. Yeah I feel good. A bit empty my apartment yet but love living here
I hope you got your electricity sorted out before you needed to use the toilet….
Yes, I was just stupid, I just had to press a button to make it work in the apartment
Very nice apartment. 1DK with enough space to enjoy your stay in Japan. Have fun filling it up.
Thank you so much .
That "oven" is a grill where you can grill fish or other foods. It's like a toaster oven.
Great, thanks for helping me out. I’ll try a toast soon :)
Klar der deutsch Akzent ist schnell rauszuhören 😂😂😂
Great content! Pls more
Thank you. Appreciate it. Two more videos planned for this week
WOW! That is a nice apartment!❤ 🫂
Thank you, yes couldn’t be happier
It is a fish grill, not really a gas oven in the sense that it gives direct flame. You could use it not only for fish but also for meat, vegetables or bead and you could find recipes in internet using that fish grill and you could buy cooking metal containers to put into that grill, cheap ones from NITORI or DAISO, fancy ones from internet or maybe decent department store’s kitchen floor. I recommend to get one since cleaning would be much easier than putting your food directly into the grill, especially when renting the property. Please be careful though for fire accidents, or foods’ overflowing (cleaning the grill would very hard), never take your eyes completely off from the grill, it is not as stable as gas oven😊 Enjoy Japan!
Woooow, thank you so much for all the detailed recommendations. ☺️🙏🏻
shopping for your new place nice place love your place
Thanks
I don’t know how you got such a big awesome place lol! When I lived there my apartment was 19 meters squared! I love your place!
Fukuoka is a bit easier than other cities . I’ve live in Kyoto for 1 year too. There I also live in a tiny shoebox 😂😂
Your apartment is very nice and not expensive. Congratulations
Thank you so much for the comment. Yes I am pretty happy to. Where does your interest in Japan come from ?
Great appartment and a good video ❤ Maybe I missed it somewhere, but where in Japan do you live?
Wish you good luck 🍀
Thanks for the comment. I’m in Fukuoka (Kyuusshu)
Had Fukuoka vibes (my hometown).
Nice place 😊😊😊😊👍🏼
Thanks :)
That's not the elevator.
That's the appartment.
😂
😂
Good luck in your new home also I am new here ❤🎉
Thanks for the kind words. Welcome to my channel
How did you manage to travel on the rail or train with all the luggage? I’ll be in Japan this week. Hope to buy an xtra luggage there😊
It was suuuuuper hard. I spent two weeks traveling in several Japanese cities with all that luggage. 😂😂cool where are you going hope you have a great time.
Looks cool! I am not sure it would work for me , my bedroom is the same size as that apartment. I do wish you well and it is good size because space being a minimum in Japan . Will be fun to watch 😎👍
Thanks for the comment 😊
1:24 not just Germany it is like that in the US. Hey question in Germany does the hotels have no 13th floor but has a 14th floor?
As far as I know , no numbers are skipped in Germany 🇩🇪
@@bernoGarcia well, they do it here because I guess long time ago 13 was an unlucky number and that just stuck. There are some other differences like in Japan the apartment buildings are more spacious then the ones in the US. That is because In the US it is required by law to have no less then two staircases or elevators and they got to be at both ends of the building but in Japan they are not required by law to have two or more staircases/elevators. I wish I could go to vacation in japan even if it is only one time in my whole life.
Japan once had a huge arcade building that was designed to look like China's famous Kowloon Walled City that according to history looked like it really was a city in a big cube. Japan made replica of it and it looked pretty real but had arcade games and claw machines and other such fun things to do in there. It was located between Tokyo and Yokohama. It was called Amusement game Park Kawasaki Warehouse. If you ever seen the movie Dredd that kind of reminds me of it.
But if I am ever do go to japan I can always see many other fun things. Like the Cup Noodles Museum. and I am a big fan of manga and anime and a big fan of Ninjas and samurai.
Oh see if you can get one of those combination washer dryers they wash then dry your clothes. This way you don't always have to hang your clothes up.
Welcome to Japan! Hope you got some balcony slippers ^_^ balcony is outside- so not socks space :D
Are you staying, or visiting?
Staying in a student visa for at least a year to study the language. No, no slippers yet 😅
Don’t know if anyone has already mentioned this LIFE HACK. But if you don’t want to buy your own washing machine for a short stay you can always use public laundries. Check out the map, maybe you have one nearby :)
Hey thanks for the comment . I actually lived of coin laundry for like 4 weeks😂 just bought a used laundry machine thou, pretty cheap and they even brought it to my place and installed it + 6 months warranty. Happy to give a new video update if my place once it looks better ☺️☺️ also other life hack. Someone told me you can rent a laundry machine in Japan.
the tiny oven is for FISH!!!
It also works for steak(very thin wagyu) and pork belly.🤤
You got a big apartment
Yes it’s spacious
Hi! U have to switch on the breaker first😊
I realized that after recording too 😂😂😂
I was in Japan 2009 . On vacation.
Great where, and how was it ?
How did you learn the Japanese language? Can you speak it in conversation or just a few sentences? Interesting language but difficult to learn I've read.
Im still learning. Working towards intermediate level right now. Started in uni a few hours a week. And no in Japan taking it more serious. Hopefully become fluent one day. You learning Japanese too ?
Where do you find websites to rent? Sorry im not good at English
There are a few ones like gaijinpot. But I found my apartment on „best estate Japan“, a bit expensive but very good service.
That's not bad at all for $400
Plus utilities and internet around $500, but still good
Where is the refrigerator?
no refrigerator, no laundry machine, no furniture at all. That's why it's a bit cheaper.
Seriously? That many luggages???😂 I've been on the road for nearly 10 yrs, believe it or not, I only hv a 10kg carry on + a small backpack & missing nothing so try it, u r going to enjoy life even more buddy!
I barely have any clothes. It’s mostly equipment. And I’m not on the road I’ll stay here for at least a year.
When you get your apartment decorated and with furniture show us please
I will :)
Wait did you rent without visiting? Don't know about fukuoka, in Tokyo when rent cheap place recommend to visit it first.
Yes I rented without visiting. An agency helped me . Everything online just saw pictures of the place. I’m not a big fan of Tokyo for living and also had to come to Fukuoka because my school is here.
@@bernoGarcia Consider yourself lucky. I am in Tokyo myself so not sure how it is in other prefectures. In tokyo when renting cheap there are good options like yours, but there are also a lot of not so good places. You could feel much smaller than on pictures, or noisy or too old or anything else.
So for people who watch this video and come to Japan i would recommend visiting places before renting it.
Anyway good luck mate, hope you will make it👍
@@MrQwer1606 I've heard from many other people in Fukuoka that it's way cheaper here than in Tokyo. So makes sense you get something bigger for the same price. Also the agency who helped me was very professional and trustworthy I would say. But yes of course luck also plays a role.
400 is ziemlich cool!
Where is your apartment? Which city or town?
Fukuoka
The apartment looks fantastic, I'm so envious! Even that view is really good.
The little 'oven' is a 'fish grill', btw. Fairly common in Japan, from what I gather. I imagine you can heat anything you can fit into it, not just fish :P
Thanks for the comment , yes people keep telling me it’s for fish 😂😂 about the view , I really love it . I realized all other apartment on the same floor don’t have this view . Super happy
I have lived in high rise apartments. Pigeons make a HUGE mess. I wish I'd had that net.
Big, lots of windows, nice bathtub, and space for plants.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah happy I got that net
@@bernoGarcia Is your apartment behind the others on the floor? I'm trying to figure out windows on two sides. ...Or is that three sides?
@@Tam.I.am. It's the only one with a view on my floor. All other apartments have other apartments left and right.
@@bernoGarcia So it is kind of behind the others. That's really neat! And yay, view. I had those in the last two apartments I lived in, and it was fun to bring friends to look out the window.
@@Tam.I.am. actually I was surprised about the view. Because the pictures I got from the apartment when I was still in Germany didn't show any view. But yeah I'm super happy about that.Where in Japan did you live?
Coole Wohnung. Für den Preis kann man nicht meckern. Viel Spaß beim Einrichten. 🙂
Total.
I would rent 2 lol amazing, except the oven
You would rent 2!! 😂😂😂 what would you do with so much space ?

Woooow US rents are craaazy. I wouldn’t have much left after paying rent in Vegas 😂😂
