- The building took about 30 days to complete. The design of the cabin was based on visual observations. Such survival shelters were considered amateurish and improvised, built in a hurry from scrap materials.
Some of my tools:
Axe: Vintage handmade carpenter's axe
Knife: HK2 Bushcraft BPS Knives
Hand saw: DniproM 400mm
Shovel: Vintage MPL-50

Fabulous little cabin, but the way you did the chimney is amazing! Blends so well into the entire build and the the sand as a ‘heatsink’ isn’t something that many would think of. My respect to you for that.
Thanks for your good feedback and appreciation!
I also appreciate his work but the dirt "heat sink" is a method that is common in old fireplaces
@@rodricbr Not often shown though. That was kind of my point.
@@rodricbr And yet many wouldn't (and don't) think of it. OP didn't claim it was a new invention.
Kudos to you, sir! You not only made a cabin that is true to its predecessors, but is also aesthetically pleasing. You made sure to keep the mud smooth, and kept the logs of a similar size, but you did all of that using hand tools like our forefathers did. Thank you for a very pleasing build and video.
Thank you for appreciating my work, it's very pleasant.
Agreed, I’m also proud that he put the angled bar on the door the right way. So many people mess this up.
Mostly made with hand tools... notice how all the perfect to length and really difficult notches just happened off screen and then 'poofed' into frame... if you really want too appreciate things done the old school way, watch Primitive Survival, the only real non hack
@@astonmoore6126he made a Lincoln log cabin, it's a square. No "complex" notches were ever made once in this video. But yeah they guys who pour concrete in the forest with excavator tracks around their completely legit builds are totally the real deal.
@sethhall9614 you clearly haven't watched primitive survival nor did you pay attention in this video.... but yeah, share that 2cent brain fart please
That chimney is a work of art.
Thanks for appreciating it, friend!
Absolutely amazing talent on display! Love the catted chimney especially, going all the way up to the ridgeline so smoke doesn't fill the cabin. Not even most pioneers' cabins got that part right. Instant subscribe.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉😂ycff777g777f7g57tyf
.😮😂
Historically, most of these winter quarters used the issued canvas shelter halves for a roof, simply tacked overtop the simple framework shown here in the beginning. :) great work!!! Love to see winter quarters being represented
Yep he really great and expert work.
Lionel Messi builds a cabin
😭😭😭
😂
Lol my first thought too
Hermosa cabaña gracias
ankara messi😂
the wooden house you built is so solid and warm. I like your fireplace design the most. It warms the whole house🏚🏚
Your cabin builds are my favorite. They are so perfect
Thank you!
WOW very impressive workmanship. Love the fireplace. The best one I’ve seen so far. Thank you so very much Sir.
Thank you for the feedback!
THAT IS ONE BEAUTIFUL CABIN YOU MADE. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE WAY THE CHIMNEY CAME OUT. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks for the good feedback, glad you appreciated this construction.
This is the single greatest Lincoln log set I have ever seen!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
I absolutely LOVE that fireplace!!!!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful cozy forest home.
Тhanks for watching!
Where in the crap do you find logs straighter than milled lumber? There is no way you could build that in Georgia or Arkansas. It would look like a pretzel.
I’m an Arkansan. You’re right 😂.
Arkansan here!😂👍🏻
Southeast Arkansan here. We had forests of straight as an arrow pine trees.
Yeah wtf LIES!!!!
Looks like he's using Red Pine... Known for growing quite straight... Here in Canada, we use the for utility poles...
It's like heaven. Free pleasant life. Good luck on your adventures
Thank you!
right, I love you @Sapayev09
@@BushcraftSurvivalShelter wow!😐😐
Wow, this is extraordinary.. really amazin cabin.. and The Civil War Era and Frontier Mountain Men living is my favorite thing.. from Jim Bridger,Hugh Glas to Daniel Boone.. very impressive job.. thanks for sharin.. from South Carolina
Thanks for your interest, I'm glad you appreciated it!
This is awesome as well as the processing of the planks, the part that isn’t shown, that’s a whole other job in and of itself.
The amount of work that goes into simple comforts like food, water, heat, light, and something comfortable to sleep in really makes you appreciate and hate our modern world at the same time.❤❤❤
A very beautiful and cozy wooden house..
Hello my friend, you flashed me again with this wonderful construction! The way the chimney you built here I have never seen before. It is so massive with all the stones and sand inside, it should store and save the heat for a long time. also the sealing between all the logs and the following clay-cover will keep it cosy inside. From my point of view you should rename your channel. This is not bushcraft "improvisation" any more. This is PERFECTION!
Again I learned a lot. Thank you for this, stay healty and keep going!
Hi, thanks for the great feedback my friend! I'm glad this chimney doesn't smoke inside, it was a moment of truth for me when I first fired it up. It also has a beautiful fire sound - so relaxing for me. I'm pleased you appreciated this whole construction!
Some fine axemanship on display! Really shows what a motivated individual can accomplish with the right skills and a sharp tool. Excellent!
Thanks. I'm pleased that you appreciated it!
I've been very inspired watching your builds ! I am building a log cabin for my sheep now ! ❤it's been a labour of love so far
Look forward to seeing more of you !
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found it useful.

Great job! Love your cabin! 👍👏👏😍
This was incredible, loved watching it from start to finish.
High level dedication and hard work. Thoroughly enjoyed 👏👏👏
Thank you for the feedback!

Realmente una obra de arte al natural. Saludos desde Uruguay 🌲🌲🌲🙋
Thanks for appreciating it! Greetings 💙💛
Best example of a bushcraft chimney I've seen excellent 👍
Great Cabin!! Excellent Work!!
The ingenuity and skill it takes to make this looks so effortless is truly AMAZING 😍
Brawo! Super!
Thanks for appreciating it!
Brilliant! At last, someone who doesn’t just appear to stack sticks elegantly and then put a plastic tarp over it and pretend that it’s Bushcraft. Someone who actually spent time building things properly and had a proper roof - well done sir!
For far one of the best I saw on TH-cam. Tanks greeting from Mexico City
Thanks for watching and appreciating it! 🙂💛💙
Not only did you make it, but you made it without a word... not one f* bomb!
That’s amazing. I made a shelter/cabin a few years ago when everything went crazy, as somewhere to escape to in an emergency. I have been thinking of making another one because I loved the challenge and was proud of how it came out. Now I am definitely going to try again and I have learned so many tips from your video to improve my next attempt. Thank you :)
Thank you for your interest! Glad you found it useful 🙂
I LIKE the quality of the joinery! Good craftsmanship.🤩🤩 I also admire the proper way you are building the fireplace and chimney: providing for extra thermal mass with that sand.
Thanks for watching!
This is one of the most beautiful and well built cabins i've ever seen. And i've watched alot of these. Wonderful.
Thanks for your appreciation, friend.
That cabin is truly part of the environment. Really Really good! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for appreciating it!
Thanks for watching and your good feedback! I hope the low foundation won't lead to mold.
❤ GOOD EPISODE ❤
That chimney is a work of art. yeeees

Excellent work… I learned a lot… it looked so nice and warm during the rain… a good space to keep warm and dry and sheltered.
Thanks for your hard work. 🙌
Thanks for your great feedback! Glad you found it useful.
absolutely brilliant 👍
Love your work.
And love the fireplace
Thank you!
I love you
It was fascinating watching you form the knotches and fit the cabin together. No doubt there was a lot more work in cutting the trees and delimbing and debarking them but anyone could do that part. The fireplace was especially interesting. I don't know that fireplaces were done that way historically but it makes good sense. My grandfather was born in a somewhat larger version of your cabin and he talked about "leaving the latch string out" which meant although the door was closed and latched people could come in from the outside if they wanted to by pulling the string that was threaded out through a small hole in the door. Rather than a sliding latch, the latch lifted to open and the string was threaded through a small hole outside so that you could lift the latch by pulling the string. If you were turning in for the night, you pulled the latch string in and then no one outside could open the door.
Thanks for your interesting feedback. The idea with the lock that your grandfather told you about is very interesting. I want to repair a wooden door in a house in the middle of the forest, so I will try to make such a door lock design
You sir are a TRUE CRAFTSMAN!! Job well done my friend!!
Thank you, friend!
Brillant, I wish I had seen this years ago. I really needed that fireplace build idea ...
Thank you! Glad you liked this concept.
Ta chingón la casita 😊
Gracias!
That was awesome! I would have like to see some of the log gathering and preparing. 👍🏻
Pretty impressive build there. I liked the way he produced those almost perfectly straight logs. I would some of them for a cabin build.😊
Well done on the cabin and video
Thanks!
Great job !!
Thanks!
The sounds of raindrops on a wooden roof sound incredible
You sir are an excellent craftsman. I’ve always said if I was in a survival type situation, I would have a chance making it with a hatchet.
I’ve read accounts of pioneers having this type of chimney. Sometimes everyone would have to run outside and push the chimney over due to it being on fire. Some families would design release mechanisms or build in hooks to hook to a horse to pull it away.
I do think it if I had been constructing this I would have harvested more moss and covered the bunk.
Very interesting, thanks for publishing your great work. Cheers!
Thanks for watching and interesting feedback! With best wishes!
Amazing work!
Thanks a lot!
Axe length! Flawless tool with precision in the right hands as seen nice work!
Thanks for the good feedback.
Uuh, I love the "sandulation" of chimney! Great idea!
Glad you like it!
While a rocket mass heater built into the floor would have been easier to build and a *LOT* more efficient than the fireplace and chimney, I have to give you credit for a fantastically put together project. Bravo!
Thanks for watching and your great feedback!

Beautiful little home, in beautiful woods.
I wish I had the land and patience and determination to do something like this.
Thank you. 💙💛
It's heartwarming to receive such positive feedback. With best wishes! 💙💛 🙂
Awesome build great design . My favorite cabin .
Thanks for the great feedback!
Absolutely outstanding and will probably outlast many modern built McMansions finished today.
I’m all for doin stuff like this. I guess when I think about “bush craft survival cabins” I don’t think of old 2x6s for shingles and other milled lumber.
That being said, this cabin is amazing and you did an **AWESOME** job!
Thanks for appreciating it!
Nice video ♥️👍👍
Thank you!
The beauty in the details. Very practical solutions for the whole construction. You are the best.🌲

Thanks for watching, glad you appreciate it!
I love you so much
Definitely worth the watch. Keep em comin.
Thanks!
What an amazing, cozy little cabin/shelter! Very well done, I found myself wanting to watch every minute to see how you would accomplish each section, and you managed to edit it down to a great time length. Waiting for more.
Thanks for watching and your great feedback!
a struggle that will not betray the results, I like it and this is very cool
I wonder how many times you have to sharpen your ax. That's a well made tool. Thank you for these videos.
This is a vintage ax that belonged to my great grandfather. I sharpen it very rarely, since its quality is at a high level.
@@Bushcraftimprovisation That's amazing. Older tools have such quality that you don't often find in new tools.
That is so clever..I wish I could do that!! Video was perfect...so cool
Thank you for watching!
Absolutely loved watching the little cabin coming together. So cool!
Thank you! 🙂
Hello my friends, I like your video again
👍👍👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰
I'm glad to see you again, good luck my good friend🍁

Grandios 👍👍👍
Brilliant Job, its great what materials that Nature can provide
Them logs are straighter than the 2x4s at Home Depot.
💀
😂😂😂 Facts!!!
Those logs are straighter than what you will find for what passes as overpriced lumber at Lowes these days
