- 2-days camping in a snowy forest, making bird feeders, warmth of a wood stove, etc. The Great Tit winters in these forests, but more than 80% of these beautiful birds are known to not survive until spring, dying of hunger during freezing temperatures.
Some of my tools and gears:
Knife: BPS Knives HK2 Bushcraft

Good luck. I grew up in Northern Michigan in a snow belt during the 80s. It was cool. But once you become used to normal society's amenities, there's no going back. At least not fully back. But you can go on weekends 😊😊

Watching this while being tucked in bed, with a weighted blanket on, while it's snowing outside is one of the best feelings ever
And Idk if it's because I'm hungry or not, but that meat looked delicious as heck
You know, going from the freezing cold to a hut warmed by a wood stove is probably one of the best feelings...

Meanwhile, in Brisbane, Australia, and I'm lying under a ceiling fan on 3 (the highest speed) because we've just been experiencing a heatwave ... it's now raining, so it will most likely continue to be warm and very humid. Welcome to South East Queensland's summer weather. Yes, it's summer here in the Southern Hemisphere. So, I like looking at snow-laden scenery ... it makes me think of cool things ... which is nice to imagine in this very warm and very humid weather.

Ich habe den Eindruck man kommt zu seinen Wurzeln zurück, kann abschalten und wieder mit der Natur und in der Natur leben, was sicherlich anstrengend ist. Könnte vielen Menschen gut tun, dieses wieder zu erlernen. Ihre Videos habe ich abonniert, danke, daß sie sich so viel Mühe geben. Ich grüße sie aus Deutschland/Niedersachsen/Harz. The lid just sits atop the feeder without a locking mechanism?
Won't the squirrels destroy it to climb inside without a lock for security?
I hope you get a lot of videos of the birds in your area. They need food all year, but especially in the winter. They also need water that isn't frozen.

Thanks for the great feedback! I think only a powerlifting squirrel would remove this lid. Many birds die in frost, and these feeders are a drop in the ocean.

Can you put bricks around wood stove that would also heat and provide heat for a longer period? 😊
I would not do that. One can build a stove completely out of stone if possible, but cladding a camp stove with stone is not right.
