    One of my favourite videos so far. Not only because the heating system is essential to live in the hut when it's cold, but it also helps tremendously with cooking proper meals.
    My parents own a hut and in the cellar there is an old stove of my mum's grandparents. It's so satisfying to heat it and use the heat to cook something. Warmth and food... it's the little things that make us happy.

      Those late 19th century wood stoves can be incredibly sophisticated. Just the start/stop times are so slow. But even that might not matter so much in winter.

      Oh, I don't know. Put what I'm assuming is cement board over the logs but left no stand off for air flow. That's not really a heat shield the way he did it

    • @shoelacedonkey
      @shoelacedonkey ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Besides something being perfect or not (something isn't more perfect than something else) this heating system is decent at best. Doesn't take away that this man has done and still is doing fantastic work, and most of it by hand and by himself as well. That's more than commendable in itself already.

      Erik has amazed me from the start. He is only like 19, and has demonstrated skills that guys three times his age do not have. He approaches everything he does with consideration, determination and a sense of perfection, and somehow manages to film, edit and present it with that same style and precision. I have known some very accomplished craftsmen, but they were all of advanced age, having garnered their knowledge and skills over their lifetimes. Apparently, Erik is a natural.

      And on top of this: He taught her how to put clothes on, instead of just her usual Fellumhang...(If that´s what you wanted to say? LMAO)!

      Because that it stupid and dangerous. You don't attack a pile of wood on the ground unless you want to hurt yourself.

      В чем шикарность этой так сказать печи ? Это просто пародия на печь , это верх идиотизма в применении материалов - громоздкая , с низким коэффициентом теплоотдачи , с высоким потреблением топлива ! ( Это видео руководство, как НЕЛЬЗЯ строить печь !!)

    When you close the door correctly towards the inside, where the door ends you should place a 5 centimeter frame inserted and screwed well all around in the upright, which functions as a block from any pushes of some bear that is trying to open it. The hinge that is used to open and close the door is fine but the internal stop is needed to make sure that a large animal does not break through it.
