As a FAMU Rattler, I am impressed with JSU 's DMs and the Jaysettes tradition of actually Marching!! and in boots!!, their GET READY is Tight. I admire any HBCU band who develops their OWN steps, instead of copying ours. and calling it theirs!! GO JSU!!
I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my login password. I love any tricks you can offer me.
@Apollo Lane thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I want to see the Regular "Get Ready" Routine. It's like a hit record, once it becomes famous, you are expected to perform it the same way forever. The music is still exciting but that routine was what really did it for me.
I am an alumnus of Norfolk State University and the Norfolk State University Marching Spartan Legion. I bleed Green and Gold. But truth be told; My first love was with the Jackson State University "Sonic Boom of the South". I auditioned in my high school and earned a full scholarship to Jackson State. Mom didn't want me that far away from home. If she did i wouldn't have been part of one of the coldest Trumpet sections in the HBCU. i'm a be a dizzy til the day I die. BEHOLD the GREEN and GOLD!
@ThatJuniorHacker where did you get that comment "TnSU Always tryna blow on sombody when they marching in" from. Find a video of them doin that and respond it to this video. I'll wait.
I don't understand why SU fans always commenting on our clips, lol.Thats how you know your band is the best, cause they gotta compete with us.Not Bama State,TxSu,UAPB!Only JSU,lol!
Tradition. Their "Get Ready" routine has barely never changed over the years, and the half split has always been a part of the routine. I'm sure when folks tryout for drum major, being able to execute a half split is probably a required skill.
What does that prove. What is 105K compared to the enrollment of the school and the number of alumni and the number of people living within 100 miles of your school? The fact that a few schools that have even half the enrollment of OSU, don't have large alumni bases, and have mostly small towns close to them can pack a stadium with 60-80K should say something. And are not even FBS/BCS schools to boot. And don't have as many band members.
LOL that ain't TSU's song. When do you ever hear anyone talking about TSU and Getting It on. Just because you play a song sometimes don't make it your song. Too me TnSU didn't sound too hot on it that year.
you people kill me!!! so let me get this straight....JSU can play some booty ass arrangement of TnSU songs and it's okay.....but we return the favor and we're lame?? lmao yall are funny
I got your haters. I have never attended Southern, but I am from Louisiana. Southern U does everything with class. You all talk a lot of noise, but when it comes down to it, if JSU was or is so much better then why is SU always getting the recognition. Say what you want, the dance line needs to step up and stop entering the stadium with that sad ass style of marching. In my state and city, you see young girls marching like that, but for a college, they need to step up their game and dance more like women and not children.
Them was some birds

Watching JSU always take me back to those Saturday nights at memorial stadium or watching them practice on the yard.
was this last night or the night before?
Jackson St, drum majors are the most exciting in all of hbcu land
If the football team doesn't make you want to buy a ticket , the band alone will .

@MrJSU2010 its a new year....Lets not dwell on the past.
It's called an "all-black college". It's not called "segregation".
They Need To Get Them Turnin Heads In Check!!
TSU Crazy lol... Funny come back
That's my alma mater! :-)
I see well our stadium holds ove 105,000 seats and we have TBDBITL
I don't think the main issue was them playing
Why do they have 4 drum majors
i could despite them being way across the field.
man please JSU has done da same thing 2 TSU marching in b4...all black bands do dat...but dat was sooooo funny....
yess mams j settes
You Could Tell Its The Trumpet Thats Out Of Line
No...not segregation. It's a historically black college...there just might be white band members...
Lol at TNSU trying to play "Get Ready"
5 drum majors
@TooSmoothProductions but nigga you must forget that Jackson & Southern good for doing that every year. So whats the problem with TnSU doin it.
Something funny ish
@kwizzle83 Just like TnSU attempted to play Get Ready.
@NaturalTori Right! LOL!!!
The drum majors waited EXTREMELY to long to roll off Get Ready!🤦🏾♂️ You need to be humming out the gate!
Nupe Ellington negative.
YeaItsDerrick Mind the business that pays you!
Sonic boom of the south
LOL that ain't TSU's song. When do you ever hear anyone talking about TSU and Getting It on. Just because you play a song sometimes don't make it your song. Too me TnSU didn't sound too hot on it that year.
