- When I was growing up I had one of these carpets, and I loved to play around for hours with my toy cars. So recently I decided to recreate the carpet in Trackmania to relive some nostalgic childhood memories!

Has anyone tried making the famous Nuerburgring Nordschleife into a Trackmania track? The fastest time around there is 5 minutes, and 19 seconds. 5:19.546 is the accurate time. Would be interesting to see, since the track is 20.83km long.

Imagine the nostalgia that would be felt by all the players when they realise what exactly it is they are playing.
I'm 28 from the UK, and I DEFINITELY had one of these when I was very young.
Htimh is such a legend! He made once graphics for a map of a friend of mine just because he thought the layout has potential. He also dominated the whole map creation domain as if he programmed it himself. Props to him!
I shed some tears seeing the exact same carpet I owned and loved come to life, thank you both so much!

I always wanted one, but my parents wouldn't give me one. So I took paper and glue, glued the paper together, covered the whole floor of my room and just made my own! :D
My gf’s little brother has this carpet and playing on it with him recreates that sense of childhood joy in a sense but it’ll never be the same 😭
Me and my dad used to draw our own carpet like this on a sheet of masking paper. Almost 20 years ago now, so the memories are very vauge, but wholesome none the less.

That same carpet actually got me my first friend in school. I just moved to a different country and I could barely speak English, and when I went to the school I played on my own on the carpet with toy cars, then some kid came and asked if he could play with me. Without hesitation, I nodded because I knew he would make a great friend, and we later became friends.

As a 37 year old American, I had the same carpet. And I'm not too manly too admit, this brought tears to my eyes for 2 reasons. 1) It's a beautifully nostalgic remembrance of days past, when my mother was still alive, and 2) it's heart breaking to know that sense of imagination and wonderment we experience as kids fades away such that the woes of adulthood make life much less joyful. Sure, I make great money, own a nice house, nice car, but that all pales in comparison to getting lost in my own head and having these amazing adventures that would allow me to go places I'd never get to in real life. Kudos to both of you for creating and sharing this experience with the rest of us.

that's huge portion of nostalgia indeed. not only just for the fact of the carpet-map, the feeling of a small car in this room gives a toy story x trackmania vibe where both are huge factors of my childhood. awesome.

Funny how the trigram (the letters on the rear of the car) is BR, since BR Toys are quite a large toy company in Europe. It makes it seem like you are actually driving a toy car on the car mat. 😁

The fact that the map doesn't look realistic really fit the childhood theme and it's also saves the time for tim creating the map itself, definitely a great choice.
That’s so awesome! I remember never having one of these carpets so I ended up using the tiles on the floor to plan out my own route to drive on with my toy cars and completely ruining my knees and pants by sliding over the floor too much hahaha

I never had a carpet.
But my mum brought huge paper sheets from work where my brother and I drew our own cities. They were huge and much bigger than any carpet my friends had. And much more exciting, too.

I can't even explain the nostalgia this gives me, I can already picture the carpet sitting in the living room with a little coffee stain, the toy cars scattered around the carpet "parked" until I would wake up and play with them until I went back to sleep. And the very next day they would be waiting there for me to play with them.
This video literally made me cry of tears… along side with Wirtual, this was my childhood too… I played toy cars on this exact carpet that he has… I had so much fun when I was a kid on this carpet… oh man, this video is just a pit of gold!!!

I never had this carpet at my home but it was in my kindergarten class room. So crazy everyone from the generation knows it and so awesome the effort put into this map!

I did not had a carpet like this, but i had very big puzzle plates (like 40x40cm) and so i could build a new ,,carpet" all over my room. Just love it. For me, it is the most beautiful map ever created. Huge thanks to you Wirtual and especialy to HTIMH for creating such memories! Love y'all

This brought nemories of when i used to play toy cars on the dirt in Mexico. We didnt have much to play with so i'd have to create my own roads draging a brick to create the streets, parking-lots, and all the roads. Thanks for this video bro you brought memories and put a smile on my face.

I had one of these carpets as a kid And that really brings back nostalgia of being fully immersed
My friend and I did not have such carpet, so we just drew our own on a regular carpet in his room with a permanent marker. It was the best play carpet ever. After his mum cooled down a little, we started expanding the thing and after a month We had whole city even with a racetrack. Loved it. #FeelingSoOldRightNow
