The road less traveled is all part of the adventure, thanks for sharing. I vote beautiful princess. 🥰 I feel your pain with the fridge, hope you work out a more permanent solution soon👍
16mins past your lunch time!!! Lil you just nailed every couples real life. And when you defeated man, we fire the next shot about windows and flies!! Better keep a snickers in the golvebox.
You’re not yourself when you’re hungry. 😂😂😂 But yes, I’m a nightmare when I haven’t eaten. 😅 love that we can show you all how real life is, including all the silly little conversations we have!
@lilandjake hey Jake, im a WA guy with a Ranger (although mine is manual) On our sand i go straight down to 14psi, probably 12 like when you were at Fracois Peron at Shark bay - and ive used 8 to get out of a bog, just dont turn sharp at speed. Secondly, when you get tyre pressures right, including your van, even with the diff lock on, the px 2, has braking traction control active on the front wheels, bit for it to activate you actually have to basically be revving out 2nd gear low range for the system to detect which wheel has no traction and then it will grab the brake on that wheel. My 2012 PX Ranger, only has traction control with the diff lock off, so i basically floor it in second gear low range and then traction control starts doing its thing on all 4 wheels. Its actually surprising how good it is when you figure out how it works. (Like when you were climbing those ledges) You have 2 stages of traction control in 2H and 4H. We all kniw to turn off the traction in sand, but just pushing the button only turns off engine power traction control, which is the big sand driving killer. If you press and hold it till the light on dash flashes, you also disable the wheel braking traction control. Low range automatically disables engine power traction control, but you still have braking traction control, but unless you are consistently spinning wheels (like 2500rpm second gear low) , it wont kick in. Even redlining 1st gear doesnt seem to make it work. 2nd gear low, and a few revs, youll be surprised.
OMG you guys are the best, you crack me up at times 😂 Jake re the flies in the car reminded me of my hubby, too funny 😄 Always love watching you, real life filming, it’s awesome. Cant wait for the next vid ✌🏼happy travels
Great effort and well done for not being shy of some decent offroad. Just need to mention something that may help others and yourselves. I saw where you checked the transmission temp and it was about 88 or something so you started to use low range. BIG tip to save any auto from destruction is ALWAYS use low range when you are on sand or towing offroad. Unless your auto is shifting into at least 3rd in high range, you should be in low. Sand and offroad towing in hi range just boils the trans.
Nothing like inertia to keep you going. Holy crap...I'm I've finally caught up with you. Loved the journey & looking fwd to my cuppa & the Lil & Jake adventure..absolutely loving it🎉🤘
Cannot believe you made it!!!! Could not be more grateful you loved our content so much. We really do appreciate it more than we can tell you Greg!! Happy to have you here for the rest of the journey. 🤩🧡
Great to see the car & camper being used for what they were made for 😊 Enjoying watching your travels. P.S. Youll save doing damage to your ARK jockey wheel if you lock the wheel sideways and out of the way !! Cheers.
Totally, we sure do give it a run for its money. 😂 We are so lucky we get to head to those harder to get places with the caravan! Good tip on the jockey wheel, we broke it ones and have just been suffering through, 😂 New one is definitely due, we will pop it on the other side next time, bad design with the tap placement currently!
Great tips guys and good to be checking before just moving , you could see the front wheels loosing traction going up the hill at 9:50 from the weight of the tow ball weight /trailer . looks like you defiantly needed that rear diff locked a life saver otherwise you may not heave been able to climb that rocky incline well done .
What a mini journey😮 hope it didn’t douse the fire in the belly as the vibe wasn’t there in this vid😢 sounded like a tough one for you. Hope Coral Bay to Exmouth reignited the fire🔥
Absolutely Ian!! Couldn’t be more true! I must say, fear got the better of us in this ep on that hill though, I (Lil) was definitely too scared to send it. 😅😅
@@lilandjake She is a princess - oh well, could be worse...at least you are out there living the dream.....keep up the great work. Look forward to the next video, stay safe!
Aerogard Tropical for outside and Aerogard Odourless for inside plus it works for ants too, they hate the stuff 😊 Low clearance 4x4 is a Subaru or other soft roaders 👍 What sort of diff-lock do you have? Is it a mechanical locker (Lokka) or electrical locker (Elocker) or air locker (ARB Air Locker)?
Hi Steve! Thanks for the comment! We have a rear e locker, they are factory in the later model rangers, it really makes a world of difference! I hope you enjoyed watching!
Really cool episode guys. Looks like a lot more fun than taking the bitumen option. Are there any campsites along that route if you felt like stopping for a night?
That’s what we thought, so nice to take the road less traveled sometimes. You couldn’t camp on the track itself but it only took us a couple of hours and we spent a night on either side! One at gnarloo and then a little past Waroora station (where you can also stay at) we stayed at stevens camp! It was a really terrific trip. 👌🏼
Just wanted to say that my partner and I have been absolutely LOVING your videos, I (lucy) have just finished binge watching your videos as Ive been watching them every morning before work hahaha gets me motivated for the day! We have only just recently just found you guys from your 9 things you wish you knew before traveling and might I say was super helpful ( thanks for chair tip ;) ) especially before we make our own tracks for the big lap coming in July, sooo exciting! Keep up what your doing guys!! Its getting my partner and I so eager to leave already! ❤❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗🤗
Wow Lucy, we are so grateful for all of your kind words! 🥹🥹 It blows my (Lils) mind that people even sit and home watching us. You will be so glad you bought a good chair for the trip! 🤩 Gosh you’re in for the most amazing time!! We would not change our life on the road for anything! 💙💙💙
Man that fridge door is even annoying me! Can Jake put a exterior latch on it or even get some alloy angle and then rivet/seal it across the door to brace it?
Great episode guys, too bad about that fridge slide and door i would be hitting up the company as its clearly not up to the task. Also F$#k those fly's lol
Turned the volume off so I wouldn't get a clue. Trying to figure out where that is filmed. Not the UK, too warm n sunny, not the US l, not Spain or the Med, I conclude somewhere down in Oz. (been there). One clue was the term 'caravan', they use that in England and Oz, not a term used in the US for an RV travel trailer.
Since you asked, Lil, I will not lie. Being so catastophic over what are often fairly normal and expected obstacles would soon wear me out. I understand Jake is fairly new to all this too, so good on him for being able to remain reletively calm whilst dealing with real issues, as well as the meladrama, is commendable! Will continue to look forward to your travels. Take the insight as being helpful to the algorithm if you don't like the opinion you asked for.

That setup looks heavy
We are actually under, don’t need a GVM upgrade! The setup is lighter than you think, we’ve got the Dobinsons suspension and love it!
Great video Lily and jake looks like you both are starting to have a bit more enjoyable time together out there touring at the moment

Drag the van anywhere but it will be stressful. Lot of weight there. If breakages are gonna make you cry then stay on the black top for your sanity
Crazy
It was such a fun track!! Highly recommend! 🤩✌🏽
Another great episode ❤❤ thank you for making us smile.

Totally!! Been giving us the absolute shits!! Good idea though Josh, we will look into it. 🤩
Neither truck or camper wont be worth selling when you finally finish triping if they make it that far.
Does your jockey wheel not have the extra holes so it can be held out horizontally?
We snapped that bit off… 😂 Lucky we’ve got a new one in the way! 🤩
