  • MEP Considerations - Part One
In this video, Alec Purdie (Technical Manager) delves into key factors for MEP Designers. Since the introduction of the Building Safety Act, design has become a major focus for the construction industry. Where services cross over fire-separating elements, such as walls and floors, they are identified as compartmentation lines. To ensure the compartmentation of the building is maintained, a suitably service penetration sealing system is essential, such as what we offer at Quelfire. Following specific rules and guidelines is important, ensuring that our evidence can be applied while aligning with guidance from the test standard that we adhere to.

It would be great if the services would be like this on the actual site as well but what you find in there sometimes is terryfing.

Service supports should be 100 - 400mm of firewalls, 400mm or less means that they can install it tight to wall and when you have to istall face fit batt service support is in the way.
