  • Live Coverage: WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse - Kenosha Shooting
    Happening in Court
Direct Exam of Gaige Grosskreutz-Survived Shooting
    Charges:
    1. First Degree Reckless Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Joseph Rosenbaum)
    2. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Richard
McGinnis, reporter for Daily Caller, not injured but near Rosenbaum when Rittenhoue
    fired)
    3. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (unknown male)
    4. First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Anthony Huber)
    5. Attempt First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Gaige
    Grosskreutz)
    6. Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person under the Age of 18
    7. Fail to Comply with Order of Local Government - Emergency Management Activity
(citation, carries no penalty) - everyone present was breaking the 7pm curfew issued by
    the sheriff.
JURY CHOSEN IN ONE DAY. 20 jurors have been selected in WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse. 9 men and 11 women. (8 are alternates)
Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 26, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 27. Prosecutors say that Rittenhouse, then 17 and from Illinois, was a vigilante looking for a fight. He, like other right-wingers, went to Kenosha, Wisconsin ostensibly to protect property. This happened as protests over police shooting local man Jacob Blake turned violent. Rittenhouse’s attorneys assert he was acting in self-defense. This case became a cause célèbre among conservatives.
Prosecutors have struggled in court, failing to introduce evidence of prior aggressive behavior. This included evidence showing him attacking a woman who was in an altercation with his sister. The other is that he was closely linked to the violent, far-right Proud Boys organization.
Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder said an appellate court would reverse him if he allowed these in trial. The evidence was too prejudicial, he said. He left it up in the air whether he would allow footage showing someone identified as Rittenhouse discussing a Black man exiting a CVS pharmacy. Rittenhouse believed the man was shoplifting.

You’re less likely to burn down someone’s business when they have a team of friends standing outside with AR15s wouldn’t you agree? It was only when they attacked Kyle and tried to take his firearm from him when they were shot. How can you watch that video and see anything different then him just trying to get away from everyone he shot. It churns my gut that people are crazy enough to do that to a 17 year old who was only there to put out fires and offer help to people. It churns my gut that these people burn down American cities
They figured since he was young that they could maul him and take his firearm, they just had to chase him down chanting “cranium that boy” didn’t they. Well it seems Kyle was the only one who ended up doing the cranium’ing, all in self defense. I wanted to watch a lot of it for myself to make an informed opinion. A lot of people don't have the time to consume a lot of the source material that goes into a truly informed opinion. So I don't think it's an easily fixable thing. Exactly. I’m horrified that deadbeat losers/pedophiles are shown as HEROs by the media, despite a criminal background, have unlimited time and energy to protest something they know little about due to no job and government benefits, who are burning, looting freely due to the police being told to “back off”. Then there’s an actual decent young man, who genuinely was there to help, had jobs and doing EMT junior training, who sounds intelligent and knowledgeable about things, is shown as a MONSTER, and some actually still believe this (mostly due to ignorance and not bothering to research case). It’s so backwards it’s insane. All because he is not a liberal

Then he was told that the reason his gun was not in the belt clip was that it was now in his hand. Then they asked him again about the "gun fell off" statement and if he did in fact say that to multiple police officers. He denies this and then they show him his statement where He says "I told multiple officers my gun fell off.." That was the beginning of the cross examination and it was straight downhill or should I say his testimony fell off a cliff. He was very articulate and answered the questions clearly but unfortunately he kept getting caught in his previous and current lies. Reminds me of an old saying - when you tell the truth life is easy because you dont have to keep track of the lies.
