First time saw him was in Jamaica Dec. 14, 1974. Saw him 3 times in Miami, FL. U.S.A including his last Miami Show Jan.1995. Still have my ticket as souvenir. He and Waylon greatly missed.
It's a god damn miracle Johnny Cash and George Jones lived to be old men. The fact that Jones outlived Cash by some years is even more remarkable. Two of the best artists of all time. Two men who never really found what they were looking for in life. May they find peace hereafter. Legends both.
This was the very year when he was dropped by his longtime record label Columbia. Nobody could imagine that he did so GREAT 8 years later with American Recordings. What an Artist he was!!!! RIP JRCASH. /CD
Sad part about that was Johnny Cash made Columbia records. If not for Johnny Cash there would not have been Columbia records. All those years of making Columbia records rich, they dropped him when he struggled selling records in the 80s.
I saw the same line-up a day later in Frankfurt/Germany as part of the International Festival of Country Music. For me personally one of the best concerts with Cash and my 2nd hero George Jones. In music, these two and other participants live on.
Saw Cash at the Marlboro Country Festival in Frankfurt. He was the last act and it was around midnight. There were Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins, too. Was probably a few years earlier...dont know exactly.
I had so any records of Johnny and everyone I have no idea where they went I guess it was me getting older my so called husband was gone Wow a lot of life I had forgotten wow this does take me back thank you ❤

Waylon Jennings (and Jessi Colter) was also scheduled to play at this concert, but cancelled right before the show, so Waylon was replaced with George Jones on short notice.
But the show was aired on Norwegian television as far as I remember. Well, thanks for posting, anyway. Johnny Cash was a great artist, but when you read books about him, for instance Marshal Grant's book, you realise that it was a wonder he lived through it all.
Hey i have a Old Ferguson True 6 head that i ues to use for my transfer From VHS to DVD, And the Quality was almost DVD, I wouldn't part with it for nothing. But having said that what wonderful footage of June singing old 97 its brilliant, And what a dancer, she sure had a lot of energy WOW. what a woman. and as usual Johnny was country gold, It was great to see him sing highway man he didn't sing it very much, but what a song. What a couple, you could see the chemistry between them, Electric.
I met some of you good people in Bakersfield, Ca, where Buck Owens and Merle Haggard lived. It was a Buck Owens concert. Nearly everone there was Norwegian!

I was there. Great show. The next year Emmylou Harris was the head liner. But i also remember the part that Davis Allen Coe and Tanya Tucker did before Queen Emmylou came on.
I am still searching for the George Jones concert from this event....
Good old Johnny was "The Man In Black", yes. Ik heb er niet aan gedacht dat hij jasje op deze dag gehad, maar het weer ziet er prachtig uit op film. Er is zeker reden:-) (If wrong, blame it on Google Translate)

Very very interesting........they could really put on a show........and Mrs. June Carter Cash could scorch that floor dancing....... very nice.

George loved Christmas and he set up an amazing light show on his farm every year for people to drive by and look at it.
I agree 100% with all you said. There will never be another to take his place but his son is close❤️❤️🙏🙏

Johnny Cash is my number 1 of all time. When I was but a young teenager I play him singing “I Walk the Line” on the jukebox and fell in love with him.
