We will never ever see a better defence in the premier league than this Chelsea 2004/2005
Only 15 goals conceded over a course of 38 league games is mad .
We had some of the safest hands in football history as well.
As a Liverpool fan, I have to agree. Unbelievable
Not as good as the invincibles season
@@Deathmare235 How boring. I bet you weren't even alive to see it.
Bolton Wanderers finished 6th that season. Wow.
Amazing to think how a club's fortunes can so radically change in a little under two decades.
20 years is a long time, a lot of teams change a lot in 20 years.
20 years is a LONG time in football. I mean, if you look back to like 18 months ago we’d all probably be surprised about certain players and how drastically their form has changed, or the hype around them. Football moves on so quickly, it’s crazy.
where was man cheaty?
that Bolton team brings back memories...
Bolton deserved it , they and their fans were absolute animals
best goalkeeper in prem history.
Defo up there. Schmeichel there with him.
Definitely up there alright but schmiechel still ahead for me
I wouldn't be too sure about that. Doesn't Jens Lehmann hold the Prem record for most minutes played without conceding a goal?
@@stephenhealy1036 Cech is the best keeper ever and its glaringly obvious
@@horsepower523 Van Der Sar, and It was Cech's record he broke. Doesn't really matter though since Cech is the best ever
15 goals conceded is insane
Arsenal conceded 17 goals in 1998/99 without oil money. Much more impressive…
How many goals did they score from Terry long ball
@@HydratedSoul15 is less than 17
@@HydratedSoulno it's not and you had money you spent the most with utd that season
@@geraldmutti2001OK and how many players in that arsenal team were home grown? 🤨
Petr actually the only pundit that knows how to pronnounce Jose well
Petr Cech is my favorite.
I thought he was retired but he saved this segment
😂😂 💯
I'd argue the 05/06 squad 'on paper" is up there with the best of all time. Wiki the squad, frightening
ofc Chelsea often looked the better side when playing against the 'best team of all time' Barcelona
@@blank1933they got robbed a few times tbf
Yep, corruption at its finest @@soys8834
@@blank1933they never really looked the better side in terms of quality football. They played 11 behind the ball for most of those minutes against barca. I mean atletico madrid played a similar game and knocked barca out of the champions league twice but that doesnt mean they were a better team. Cup football is like that
@@blank1933 Barca palyed them off the pitch every game, hence why this "amazing team" under mourinho never won a CL.
Its weird seeing Cech without his head gear
I used to think he always wore it while playing
@@Deathmare235he was born with it
@BadBoysBadBoysWhatchaGonnaDoooyes he was. This was surgically removed when he retired.
@BadBoysBadBoysWhatchaGonnaDooo he was. I talked to his mum the other day
😂😂
Terry and Carvalho, simply 2 of the best England and Portugal have ever seen in their ranks. If you put Cech behind them then no surprise they hardly conceded goals.
when you look at the players chelsea had then i dont know how anyone can say football has gotten better
Prem teams used to play 10
In the back against elite European clubs back then. Complete opposite these days
Just because chelsea haven’t gotten better doesn’t mean football hasn’t
Footballers have gotten worse but managers have gotten better tactically… most teams now have their own system whereas back in the day it was individual brilliance FC
Not just Chelsea
Every team had at least one elite player
@@bubbagun3576prem teams were the elite European teams
One of the best if not the best sides the premier league will ever see. 15 goals conceded a record that will never be broken. Up The Chels
Top 5 for sure but not the best at all.

The Best and The most Exciting Goal Keeper in The History of Football is here and he is LOVELY
My first season as a season ticket holder at Chelsea after being a member previously. What a time to be a Chelsea fan.
Petr cech is actually my childhood idol funny enough. Used to watch his highlights on TH-cam lol goat 🐐
Underrated Chelsea team they had everything
This Chelsea Team Was Monstrous!
As like jamie carragher said, its not about how you beat them, its how you gonna score though. That is frightening. And i remember that Chelsea in PES or WE back in the day, especially Drogba, he was unstoppable. Pure POWER
My favourite Chelsea team.
Stars on every line and Mourinho in his prime.
No team will ever beat 15 goals conceded in an entire season, absolutely incredible.
Chelsea legend. Love this guy 💙🪖
He broke the 4-4-2 dominance in the premier league when he came from Porto and changed the direct 4-4-2 formation.
Funny how the 3 pundits went to the same shoe store
Not sure why they like those shoes
BRO THAT FIRST SEASON WITH THE SPECIAL ONE AND THAT TEAM WAS SPECIAL 💙
1 loss all season by a penalty and only 15 goals conceded overall, while having higher points tally than the invincibles is not spoken about enough.
Terry, Carvalho and Cech a better steel cage than Vidic, Ferdinand and VDS. 15 league goals conceded is insane. Always felt Ricky Carvalho was underrated with a fantastic reading of the game and he did it at Porto tbh too.
People always bang on about Schmeichael but Cech was always much better for me
When you realized that Jamie Carragher's Liverpool had denied Jose Mourinho's dream on winning the Champions League that season thanks to Luis Garcia's infamous ghost goal, with Liverpool winning the whole thing after the infamous "Miracle of Istanbul". That's wild!
Some things are just meant to be
Best goalkeeper in prem history.!
That Chelsea team that lost one game all season (to a controversial penalty) was better and more impressive than the Arsenal team that went unbeaten drawing like 12 games
Still lost the game tho right ? Arsenal never lost any..since when have draws be loses....never, so still only one unbeaten team
@@shaunbarden6105 not as impressive in my book, only conceding 15 goals in a season finishing on 95 points trumps Drawsenal
@@shaunbarden6105 as long as you don’t forget that arsenal’s “invincible” title relies solely on Robert pires diving against Portsmouth to win a penalty.
@sound4117 and it solely ended because of a Rooney dive, so swings and roundabouts,
Bolton being there shows how teams can fall in level over the years😂
They were the perfect team for their time, same way Man City are today but with a different style.
15 goals conceded - can we all just agree it isn’t getting beaten
The best keeper ever in Chelsea history, too good
Best defensive record in the PL. Ever.
Someone will do an invincible Premier League title again, someone will do 100 points again, no one is ever beating that 15 goals conceded ever in the current format of the league.
I don’t get that “logic” at all.
How is a team getting 100 points or going unbeaten achievable and conceding less than 15 goals not?
The league format hasn’t changed
You will see.@@chrisclarke8451
@chrisclarke8451 Man City literally did the centurion and conceded in more than 15 goals. Arsenal did the invincible and conceded in more than 15 goals. Liverpool got 99 points and conceded in more than 15 goals. Lol you are funny.
Lampard was great that season, 19 goals, 20 assists.
Cech - Terry - Lampard - Drogba. Is there a better spine?
In my opinion, the best team ever in the premier league era. Carragher is right, you literally couldn’t score. We didn’t even give chances away in games, the defensive spine was insane.
221 clean sheets in 494 is crazy
That Chelsea team was when mourinho had no fear. Those players didn't care if the other team was better technically. They would bully the way into attacks. Its sad to see mourinho being known as the guy who just parks the bus now.
To concede only 15 goals over a course of 38 league game.. That Chelsea team was something else..Not even the mighty Invincible’s cud do it. Mad respect as a Liverpool fan.. The legacy of that Team will be talked on about for generations..
Liverpool conceded 1 more goal in a league with 4 more games. People stopped talking about it not long after.
That Chelsea team thought about defence first. The Arsenal invincibles, Liverpool, Man U, Man City’s best teams are attacking teams. Different mindset. I know what I would prefer to watch as a neutral
@@mattdavies2736 Arsenal invincibles scored one more goal than chelsea did in 04/05. The 04/05 chelsea team did still score a lot and were attacking a lot of the time but would switch to a much more pragmatic style when they needed to.
Jose needs to bring back this ruthlessness in his management
Conceding 15 goals in 1 season is absolutely mental
If only we had characters like this in today's Chelsea squad we would be so much better
Those were the days 😢
I remember every game from that season.
Jemie put it simply how good that Chelsea team was " It was not how to beat them, it was how to score against them"

“Unbeatable”, except for when they lost.
Exactly 😅
Precisley, is theirs gold?
@@matty7274 Chelsea’s only loss came down to an incredibly controversial penalty against Man City. Arsenal’s invincibles title is entirely reliant on Robert pires cheating by diving and winning a nonsense penalty against Portsmouth. @@GIBBO4182 the reason they conceded 15 is because most teams defended or were pragmatic against them. Jose had brought in the 4-3-3, flying wingers inverting, Lampard making runs, ball playing CB's. No other epl manager was using that system because everyone was fixated on the 4-4-2. They had to break down more teams than they had to defend

What?
@@Deathmare235 Manchester United began the 1992/93 season with 5 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses and after a defeat to Aston Villa, Alan Hansen said "you can't win anything with kids"; this was because they had a team full of academy players such as Beckham, Giggs and the Neville brothers 🔴
That team ended up winning the league 🏆
