this podcast is a big help for chelsea fans who are currently going through a bad time during this transition phase… makes me proud to be a chelsea fan when i listen to these legends share their memories and experiences. thank you mikel for doing this❤
Joe Cole till this day has to be one of my favourite Chelsea players, the first game I ever watched live at the Bridge was the one against Liverpool in 2004 when he scored the decisive winning goal in the 2nd half(he briefly mentions this game in the podcast), we went absolute mental in the stands, ended up getting that season's away shirt with his name/number on the back a few days later. Joy of a player to watch in his peak.
Or no. Gallagher is a fantastic player with an extreme effort play. Yet he’s not the calibre midfielder that Chelsea want. He’s not world class. Wish him all the best at Madrid
Joe Cole what a player, top top player. I think he was the most skillful English player. I remember I read the newspaper at school here in Malaysia with the headline "JOE GOAL" after he scored the winning goal against Liverpool in 2007 UCL semi final at home. He came back from that long injury on his last season 09/10 and he was never the same player he was, lost his pace and skills. Gutted to see him left for Liverpool. That goal against Norwich, Sweden, and both title winning goal against United 2006/2010. Thanks legend for entertaining my childhood. And keep up the podcast, happy to see our legends here and share their memories.
These podcasts are amazing! These guys brought me so much excitement as kid & during my teenage years. I remember being in school and constantly reading about Chelsea & football in general instead of doing my work. Such a shame I can't say the same thing about this current Chelsea team
I’ve been supporting Chelsea since 1997…I was SOOOO HAPPYYY when Joe Cole signed for us. He really was my favourite player and couldn’t believe he signed for us. What a player and what a man.
Thank god Obi is getting respect he deserves..he was a top too defensive midfielder..will take him and Oscar anytime ahead of Caicedo and Enzo..with John it gave you safe “forget about it” to oppositiins..and with Oscar it was Pirlo vibes
Played in the cup final West Ham scouted him in!..1993 london schools final… he was outrageously good we were year nine good players he was year 8 playing up and was head and shoulders the best player .. couldn’t smell him let alone tackle him … we all realised that day there are levels 😂
I wonder if Eden would ever be on an episode... Would be amazing to understand what goes into his head during his games based on what the other players have said 😂
If Boehly can hang around in Twitter spaces with a bunch of Chelsea fans, I sure as hell hope he is watching these videos of these two Chelsea legends speak regarding Conor Gallagher. There are some things you cannot monetize and the thoughts of selling him, will only tank this squad down the table even further. Also a great idea, its about time these guys talk to the Chelsea fans in public. They do plenty of business interviews talking about Chelsea, so now is the time to talk to the fans directly.
Conor Gallagher is nowhere close to the level of these players…nor will he ever reach this level. Joe Cole was a fantastic Chelsea player and I think he sees himself in Conor in regards to him being a cfc fan then player…but that’s all they have in common. Joe was a winner for us and Conor hasn’t helped us get close to winning a single thing. If…WHEN we get £50m he’s outta here and good riddance 🙌🏿
Thanks John and Joe. You guys brought back so many wonderful memories for us, Chelsea fan. Good to hear so many beautiful stories behind the scene during the best era of Chelsea. Joe, really wish you were there to win us the 2012 Champions league. Chris is an excellent host too. It's always enjoyable to listen to this broadcast. John, any chance to interview Hazard, Mata and Oscar? they also represent one of the Chelsea teams that played most attractive football
This wraps up a lot of things behind the scenes during Jose’s time at Chelsea. We have kids playing at our club now. The mentality is different that's why we ain't winning
Joe, your goal in the 3-0 victory over Man Utd in 2006 sealed my decision to pitch tent with Chelsea. I still enjoy that moment. You have no idea how loved you are bro.
Arjen Robben was magic for about 4 months, he never fully recovered after that Mokeana injury though. Confidence took a huge dent. J.Cole was a genius too. Some of the stuff he was doing in 05/06, Robben's injury allowed him to grab the chance to fully express himself. Swings and roundabouts.
I live in the united states and as a chelsea fan back when I lived in Nigeria, I'd pray Jose picked Joe over Arjen just to see them flicks. That pre-season when he got hurt in 2006 against some MLS all-star team broke my heart. My favorite moment was the goal when we done united in the 06 3-0 title winning game as he lead us before Uncle Carvalho scored that perfect CF gorgeous goal with one of the quickest and passionate counter attacking goal. KTBFFH❤❤❤❤
One of the greatest performances by any player was joe cole against spurs the 4-4 classic. I was aat that game and he was magical that night. If it was zidane people would still be talking about it today
I’ve watched all these podcasts and I’d say this was the best so far!! Joe get them badges and lead us back to champions league glory!!!!! Up the chels 💙
I 1st saw Joe when he was 14/15 i knew his Dad and he was gave me great advice on life and for my stepson that went to west ham at 8 . He played for Tuffnel Park Rangers in the same team as Joes younger brother. Joe was a different kind of Baller top drawer baller how he scored against ManUtd served Rio on a plate Joe, respect is very much due sir a chelsea legend. Salute Btw discretion dictates but Joe's dad told me what Fergie offered to get Joe up to Man U RIP G 🙏 😉 😅
Agreed about one of the owners coming out and talking to the fans. They obviously care about the club and want it to succeed, so after we win a game at home, boehly or Egbali needs to come out and say " thank you for the support, heres what it means to us, now let me tell you about the vision for the team...". It will change expectations from the fans (in a good way) and there will be less abuse towards the developing players and manager after a poor performance.
I wouldn't agree with that assumption of Obi on Conor is being the only player who has been fighting for the badge. Because Thiago is the best player who has been fighting for the badge apart from Conor.
this podcast is a big help for chelsea fans who are currently going through a bad time during this transition phase… makes me proud to be a chelsea fan when i listen to these legends share their memories and experiences. thank you mikel for doing this❤
Honestly 😂
Honestly, well said
since we're shit ive been finding comfort in a lot of punditry and podcasts, thank you John for the podcast
😂😂

He banged in another winning goal against the same team, a week after that.
Good to see you J Cole. You gave us so many moments of joy during your days especially against Man Utd. Thanks.
"Forget how much money (Gallagher) is worth on the spreadsheet. Find the money somewhere else." Amen, Joe.
Or no. Gallagher is a fantastic player with an extreme effort play. Yet he’s not the calibre midfielder that Chelsea want. He’s not world class. Wish him all the best at Madrid
That mou elephant line killed me, lol
"where does the key play? " 😂😂😂

I literally loved Joe for years, one of the most naturally skilful players we ever had in this country. Still love him.
We used to win so many 1-0 against Liverpool with Joe Cole scoring those days lol. Good times
When ever we won home and away with Liverpool we won the league. And it was J Cole
Man like The English Magician. Joe Cole was cold its amazing how many great players have actually played for Chelsea.
Joe Cole was an earlier version of Eden Hazard.
Bit much
@@kb5509 have u seen Joe Cole play ?
@@Iamwhatyousayiam yeah. Have you seen Hazard play?
That's true though he was an entertaining playmaker. He was comparable to Brazil players over typical English players
@@hello-friend990 being able to dribble isn't unique to Brazil. England have had plenty before Joe Cole.
Warms my heart every time I watch our legends. Thanks a lot!!
Great players and geat memories 🫡
'Go to Spurs......I just couldn't do it ' !!!! Thats the kind of player Chelsea need !!
The elephant story is crazy😂
love Joe, what a footballer, what a Chelsea legend, what a man he is now. thanks Joe.
Joe Cole, my favourite winger ever. Your leg overs are mesmerising
I’ve been supporting Chelsea since 1997…I was SOOOO HAPPYYY when Joe Cole signed for us. He really was my favourite player and couldn’t believe he signed for us. What a player and what a man.
You were our hazard for years before hazard bro 💙👌🏻✌🏻

Fun episode. Joe Cole is a great guy! Mikel and Chris are killing it so far on this podcast🔥

That Joe Cole assist for Drogba against Valencia in the Champions League was a beauty
Same as the assist to Drogba against Bayern Munich away (Quarter Finals) 04/05.
Best podcast in the world ❤
Obi - team podcast: Didier, Terry, Lamps, Cech, Ash, Essien...Jose! Do it!
Joe, your goal in the 3-0 victory over Man Utd in 2006 sealed my decision to pitch tent with Chelsea. I still enjoy that moment. You have no idea how loved you are bro.
Cesar Casadei the next Chelsea midfield legend
