Great video, brotha! Straight and to the point with examples and real life experiences behind it. I plan on getting out to Little Neck tomorrow from shore and high tide looks to be around noon. In your opinion, should I throw swimming plugs or stick to bait on a hi-lo like bloodworms? I'm taking my 13 year old son out and he's dying to catch his first striper but I'm a novice to intermediate surf fisherman who doesn't get out as often as I would like to so any other insight on how I should approach daytime bites would be appreciated! Thanks again and tight lines!!🎣
I’ve never fished that area but I know people that do well with swimming plugs there. As for the bait scenario questions Ide be lying if I told you yea or no, only time I use bait is for blackfish/seabass/porgies and live lining bunker…I’m sure it would work tho and it’ll give you a shot at some winter flounder in the mix…hope all goes well out there and good luck!!! Thanks for watching bro 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 Ide bring a bucktail or 2 along if I were you also just to fish the bottom of the water level if need be…
@thesouthshoreanglerfishing I appreciate the feedback and will certainly bring a bucktail, as I always do! Still trying to hone in on that lure. That's why I fish swimming plugs and tins much more often. Just an easier lure to present effectively. I'll let you know how I do with both methods! Thanks again!
Nothing like sharing what works to other fisherman. I am happiest when I catch but second to that is being happy when a friend catches. Especially when they take my advice. Not saying that sometimes I may be a little jealous but I am still happy for them when I see it happen. Thanks for giving back Sky.
Tom what’s up ? Yea i figured instead of the usual fish p*rn, I’ll give some info on what goes on inside my brain concerning fishing and if it can make one person a better fisherman then I’ve felt I’ve given back to the fishing community…what’s that saying…”give a man a fish and he’ll come asking for more, teach a man to fish and he’ll catch his own”… Thanks for watching Tom 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
I appreciate the compliment 🙌🏼 , by the time I’m Skinners age, I may be on another planet when it comes to fishing 😎 Thanks for watching Joe 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Good to see you posting again. I'm a summer flounder guy but I appreciate your tips and I'll relate it to my dad who's a big stripper fan. Will you be doing a fluke tips tricks video as well? Can't wait for May 1st here in NYC.
I usually check Jones out for the May bluefish run and later in the season when the Spanish Macks come around, other than that I hate that long walk 🤣🤣 need an electric bike for that spot…Thanks for watching bro 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Man if it’s one thing I forget or always lose , it’s always the needle nose pliers 🤣🤣🤣🤣 looks like I’m touching a hot stove 🤣🤣 Thanks for watching bro 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for the time and insight! What about Back Bay vs Up Front open surf? Do you have a preference based on time of day you're fishing or time of year? Do you prefer the beach over the bay when you're fishing from shore? Thanks again
Striped bass head into the bays to spawn, you’ll catch them on the boats out front in the ocean as the migrate to the bays and I’m sure you may pick a few off in the surf but for spring you want to be hitting the bays hard….during the fall is when you want to be pounding the surf and inlets as they’ll be migrating out of the bays and heading south….during the fall run you can be out there all day and night slaying bass and that’s when you’ll experience serious blitzing in the surf….. hope this info helps!!! Thanks for watching and good luck 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks man, yea I plan on expanding the content format instead of just recording “fish p*rn”…I feel like people can get bored just watching me catch fish back to back without saying much, I have to get more into the personality aspect of it, more engagement with my viewers , more 3rd person angles , and putting out more information to help others…I can’t give out all the information stored in my brain as “ the game is to be sold not told” but I’ll give enough info to give people that extra push if they need it and so as the season goes on I’ll be doing tips and tricks for each species that inhabit our waters….Thanks for watching bro 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
I don’t hit silverpoint for stripers until the fall BUT then Big bluefish should be strolling through that inlet in another 2-3 weeks…all my striper fishing in the spring is in Jamaica bay where they come in to spawn….Thanks for watching Stephen 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Floating, I did forget to mention the sinking ones as you just reminded me !!!!! Like I said usually when I have to go down low I throw on the trusty bucktail, force of habit and stuck in my ways….Thanks for watching chef 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Hope they help you out on the water!!! And as far as Robin S goes…..I keep that on repeat 🤣🤣🤣🤣 gets me focused into my fishing groove….Thanks for watching bro 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
@user-nt8qp8lx7e I’m a person that sticks by the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it “ mentality and so I really don’t try out different things and stick with what I know what works for me, if anything the only adjustments I’ll make is maybe a softer or harder “pop” of the bucktail or different slow speed retrieves…
Hey what’s up, it’s Jim and Matt from the pond. Great video, great advice. You are making us wanna check our gear and get out there, Pond is getting greener each weekend anyway. See you around out there. 👍
Jim what’s up man!! Yea I think the fish have finally became accustomed to me 🤣🤣🤣 I hit atleast 1 pickerel every time I stop by but the largemouth bass just stare at me now 🤣🤣…it’s time to switch over to the saltwater, start shaking those cobwebs off your saltwater gear…I’ll see you out there and thanks for watching 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Excellent presentation and terrific advice ! When are you going to start a Guide Service? I recall you mentioned this possibility a few months ago. Best Regards
There is a bunch of different name brands….I’m starting to become a fan of the Joe baggs but it’s more about the color than the brand….Thanks for watching bro 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
4 am jamaica bay got a 28 inch with your retrive on a tsunami holo shad. Also the fisherman is looking for a nassau nyc media guy. You should 100% be that guy
No doubt Kev! Gives me gratification knowing I was able to help someone out!!! Where did you hear about The Fisherman looking for a media guy? Seems like a good idea, I can help others and get myself out in the fishing “world” more….thanks for checking back in 😎 STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
As I made this video , I forgot to mention there are sinking swimming plugs which FISHCHEF just reminded me of…they will get you to the lower water columns also!!!
There's no way you have been fishing for over 30 years. Dude! you don't even know how to handle a schoolie an a treble hook. You just killed that fish.
Bruh you really think that fish died 🤣🤣🤣 it was in the plate not the gills and yea actually I’ve been fishing for 36 years and I’m sure I’ll out fish you any day of the week…stop being so sensitive, it’s not a good look, BE A MAN
@@thesouthshoreanglerfishing I'm sorry for the rude comment. I take it back. Totally a bone head move on my part. I'm looking forward to more of your videos.
